  1. And sells about twice as many student tickets. I'd like to do a comparison of student section #seats, #attendance, and #students(maybe just undergrads?), but I don't know where to look for student attendance data. Any ideas? That might be hard to find
  2. For me it is not about "missing" it is how lame these teams are.
  3. Wow...that is sad. By then there is a chance that MSU is sort of an average type of team (I don't see them being 10 plus wins each year) The Big Ten just has some really lame teams that don't move the needle at all. Rutgers Purdue Illini Indiana Northwestern (for the most part) Minnesota
  4. Years ago they go special treatment...now with social media and camera phones they have it kind of hard at times.
  5. Well, it is about the general election which is just now starting. I don't expect this thread to die off until well into late November or early December. Maybe, but it might be sooner. I think Clinton will win with ease and people will lose interest since it won't be much of a race
  6. This is the energizer bunny of threads!
  7. Where did those other soldiers come from? I'm basically totally lost!
  8. If he wins 6 this year, he'll probably be brought back for the following year, but if he wins 6 that year too, I'd say he's probably gone. Eichorst might be gone in that situation as well. I know he was winning six or seven games at Oregon State… And that was with horrible talent and no resources. And if he keeps doing that at Nebraska that's a problem. I don't think that's the case though… I think they easily win 10 this year
  9. If Riley win six or seven games this year to meet at the trend. And that's a problem.
  10. It appears we are getting back to the argument that Nebraska almost won the game versus Purdue… And that if you really think about it Nebraska was basically undefeated last year.
  11. They actually both had it easy. One under performed and one really under performed Nebraska is not about "keeping games close" and Nebraska is not about "Getting blown out" Riley probably needs a good 10 wins this year...we as fans need to stop pretending like we are happy with "no blowouts" Bo is gone because he was an average coach (For Nebraska) and he was an a-hole. Riley is super nice and positive...but he needs wins.
  12. We all know why some people don't want to put a number on the upcoming season.
  13. Not in one season. Nobody expected 5-7, but I don't think many of us expected to win a conference title in year one either. If you've got a decent house built on a cracked foundation, when you start working on the foundation the house doesn't get immediately better. I didn't say we would see a conference championship in season one. I said new coaches were expected to push us to the next level, not start all over. I thought 10 wins last year was pretty realistic given our schedule but I thought we'd lose an extra one due to QB play. If we beat four out of five of BYU, Illinois, Wisconsin, Northwestern and Purdue - all teams we easily could have beaten - that would have been 9 wins with Iowa being the extra game we dropped due to poor QB play. So I think it would have been pretty easy to get the same W-L results we had been getting in season one and then improve from there. Even an 8 win season would have been understandable given all the changes. But 6-7 really can't be seen any other way that significantly under-achieving. Agreed entirely with your last sentence. New coaches were expected to push us to the level, and they still are. However, "push us to the next level" and "start all over" are not mutually exclusive statements. There is no dichotomy here. Again, that's the semantics of the whole argument. I agree that they aren't mutually exclusive. But I think most would have said we only needed the former, not the latter. Anyone with more than 2 or 3 working brain cells knew these coaches were going to install a completely different system on at least the offensive side of the ball and that almost always includes a learning curve, aka, a transition period. Sadly, most fans just want to sit there chugging Budweiser and slamming chicken wings while they bitch about the teams misfortunes. Then it's the coaches fault for doing it wrong. I guess if you really think about it...it was not a transition for Riley. 6 wins is about his norm. ZING

If you've got a decent house built on a cracked foundation, when you start working on the foundation the house doesn't get immediately better. The problem with this is the fact that there was nothing really cracked. It is not like the Huskers were horrible under Bo, They were basically an average team. The "cracked part" was really more of the coaching staff. Look at the losses. They were not blowouts ass-beatings. They were usually losses because the staff put the team in crappy spots. Timeout before BYU's last play Run/Pass option vs IL Passing 789 times vs Purdue Those are not really foundation issues that is just poor planning. Things I will not miss this season: 1. Toxic 2. Buy-in 3. New system 4. The former coaches are texting the players and telling them not to play hard Wisconsin Players are confused about the above bold - Preferring that we bring back the past staff. No kidding!
  16. Honest question - about how long do you think it would take you to get to, unlock, and load your gun from say, your living room or your kitchen in the event of an armed robbery? I keep a loaded (not chambered) pistol in a biometric safe bolted into the nightstand next to my bed. So, I can have it ready to fire in 10 - 15 seconds if I'm upstairs, 20-25 downstairs? I also have a rifle loaded (again not chambered) in my full size safe in my closet, but that's probably closer to an extra 10 or so seconds in the dark. Our bedroom (and the kids) is upstairs, so any intruder would half to come up and past my door before getting to the kids rooms. Have you ever thought you needed to grab the one bolted to your bed and it turned out you didn't? Like where you thought you heard something and it was nothing? I am a super light sleeper so I wake up all the time from any noise at all and I'm basically never groggy so just wondering how it was in your situation. Yeah, once in the middle of the night at our old house. We heard a crash downstairs, and when I went to check it out, it was a shelf I had installed the day before. Shoulda used better wall anchors. Ha! That is funny! I have reached for weapons before too and there is nothing there or it was just something stupid.

  18. Remember when we made excuses why it was so easy to win nine games as the huskers head coach… #Sad

  20. I think if there is any combination of two losses that include Fresno State, Wyoming, Illinois, or Purdue, that things will get really ugly.
  21. No bowl game and he is canned because SE will be canned. But I just don't see that happening because the schedule is very nice.
  22. Agreed. And that all ties into my suggestions regarding a license and government supplied training. Those stories where little kids play around with the family gun and end up hurting themselves are the worst.
  23. Sometimes it is so easy that people can't see it...Sure it sounds like a lyric from REM but it is true
  24. I want a horse-drawn cannon! And as well you should! It is your right! With your horse-drawn cannon and my late 1700's musket...we would be some bad-ass-mo-fo's!
  25. I think we should all be allowed to own those arms they were talking about it...those awesome muskets!
