  1. I gained 20 from my Sr. year to my Fr. year
  2. Was this the year we were supposed to play at Tennessee but it got moved to like 2025?
  3. He probably loves this...I know I would. Coming back for another year AND getting to sit out of the spring!
  4. They probably view it as easier for him to bulk a bit now...until Spring...then decide if he will stat inside or move back out...so from Mid April until August it would not be hard to drop weight...but it would be harder (for most people) to pack on good weight.
  5. I would not chalk this up to bad recruiting...it really is just that he wants to be a QB and that is totally understandable.
  6. The Huskers must lead the nation in stories about kidney's, right?
  7. If this is "doing what it takes" than the system is broken. I think there is some truth to that but if the rules allow it...
  8. Football Recruiting...Hmmm

  9. Ridiculous. How many guys are they going to take? Harbaugh is insatiable. .......All of these guys we are hoping for late are now targets for other big name schools who have whiffed on some recent prospects. Very frustrating. He is a winner
  10. I think that record does play a part but you also have to be "cool" in one way shape or form...there needs to be a a cool factor that the kid falls in love with. That of course is the hard part
  11. Illini are -3.5 Let me give you my horrible breakdown of this terrible game... It will be terrible. I am surprised this game is not on some public access station.
  12. There is a difference in being held accountable with Bo and with Dobson. They might have been held accountable with Bo but they were not with Dobson. If they would have been held accountable by Dobson they would have had 10-12 wins each year! That lazy prick
  13. He's obviously talking about how quickly they explode from their stance given that they've heard the snap. Not how fast they react to a noise. I don't think one has anything to do with the other...like for instance...being great at "slap jack" probably doesn't mean you are great at the VJ... Exactly. Reacting to the snap has nothing to do with VJ, which no one is claiming. Okay, thanks
  14. Riley's wife couldn't do it...she is allergic to everything. Look...this isn't creepy or weird or gross...this is "doing what it takes"...We all know it
  15. This is no joke but after talking to and reading tons of things...this is what a lot of coaches look for to see who is an athlete.. 1. Can you run at full speed and jump 2. Can you run at full speed and turn your head and not have your head "bobbing" up and down
  16. He's obviously talking about how quickly they explode from their stance given that they've heard the snap. Not how fast they react to a noise. I don't think one has anything to do with the other...like for instance...being great at "slap jack" probably doesn't mean you are great at the VJ...
  17. No...the VJ probably has nothing to do with the reaction of an OL off the ball...The VJ is not tested (that i have ever seen) off of a snap count.
  18. Why would you waste time doing anything that doesn't translate to on field performance. There are no weight room warrior awards for college football teams. As coach, I have thought about this over and over for years...here are my thoughts... 1. Working out in general is good for you 2. Making the workouts a competition or having a competition component is good for you and the team With that said...are there things that are done both in the weight room and with conditioning? Yes, all the time. But it is super hard to strip things down to just fitting into the category of "it must translate to the field" For instance...many coaches argue that barbell bench is pointless and dumb bells are more realistic as a football simulation. Then you have the vertical jump...from a stand still position...that makes almost no sense in the sport of football...you are always running when you jump or at the very least moving. You have some coaches that don't stretch at all and others that stretch all the time and others that only do dynamic stretching. It goes on and on. Everything "translates" to performance in one way or another I guess...
  19. I think I read that Stanford doesn't do bench press.
  20. I was kind of thinking that too but it would be sweet to just toss them in the crockpot and leave while they are cooking.
  21. I think that you look at the situation... Collins: Probably a high draft pick VV: Graduated...been hurt before a few times. I think when you look at the facts you have to assume there is a good chance that both would leave but one for sure. I think if you lose one you need to bring one in. If you lose two you better bring two in.
