  1. I think we are on our way, but I would rather see a few games played before we get all giddy. It is nice that some rags think we are turning the corner, but until it is done on the field I will just be happy with what I think is coming. I still feel we are at least a year away from being a totally dominant team, but this year with this defense could prove me wrong. I don't normally like to be wrong but being wrong about this would make my day.
  2. Tell us how bad BC sucks Bernard. Your que has come and gone!!!!!!
  3. Who is Bernard and does he ever post on here?
  4. If I remember correctly we have another Jackson on board who some felt was just as good as Cory last spring. If he come back in the fall as strong as he was he will have to be considered. Man having all these problems really suck don't they?
  5. Sorry guys, I did not mean to disrespect the site. That was not my intention Dave if you took it that way. Sorry.
  6. If this is true something is wrong. Very wrong. If it has filtered down to a low life message board that one of our scholarship athletes is living in his car, and the staff has not done something about it I wonder what is going on. I can not imagine BC not taking care of situation like this. I can not imagine the university not looking into it. I truly find it impossible to believe. Not questioning anyone on here, but I would have to see it or hear BC say it before I would even consider it to be the truth. Now if he spent a nite in his car or something that may be what is played as living, who knows.
  7. They better worry more about Texas Tech than us. We can't knock them out of the conference championship and Tech is ready to do that. They have a new QB just like Texas, but Leach gets his ready quick. The new kid is who most wanted to start two years ago. Injured last spring. Texas is the goal for Tech this year. 2004 it was Nebraska, 2005 it was Oklahoma and this year it will be Texas. They have done 2 out of 3 so far. I would not be betting against Mr. Leach to accomplish this. I agree with run silent and run deep theory. The less they know and the less they expect only benefits this team. Who ever we meet in the CCG is in for a real game I think this year. God I love this staff, they have finally given me hope again!!!!!!!
  8. Children!!!! You go where you can get a job. Coaching on the Division 1 level is a big step. Taking a job at moron U for pennies or taking a job where you make money and have better athletes gives you the chance to enhance your career. A better stage to show your wares. I am sure it was a tough decession to go to KState, but obviously the job was not open at Nebraska. It is his life and he needs to make the choices that forward it to where he wants to be. There is no reason for hatred. He is just moving forward. He is part of Nebraska and always will be. I have no problem with it at all.
  9. Bernard, You need to learn to give people a chance. You have not given the coaching staff a chance and now some of the players. Competition makes for a better team. Most people do not quit just because th going gets tough. If you have not learned that by now you are in for a lot of problems down the road in your life. Some ride the bench, some play and some never even get the chance. Leon went to the D because the staff felt he might be able to play there. I really do not think the staff is sold on Lucky as being the single back. I look for Cody and Leon to emerge as the front runners. Both played in much tougher leagues and put up the same type of numbers that Marlon did in High school. The kid is lightning fast and has moves. Lets wait until the spring is over until we decide who is going to do what. There is absolutely nothing to be negative about in this situsation. It is all good for the team. That means it is all good for the fans. Lighten up and embrace the change and the thought that we are getting closer to the elite teams on the talent level.
  10. I really could care less what was said. But Freeman stole from this team. He stole from the players. He stole from the coaches. He lied to our head coach. He ducked the competition. He took the easy way out. Locking in a position that we recruited hard, The staff no longer pursued another QB as they had a commitment from their number one target. Your only as good as your word. Something todays youth need to understand. If you give your word you keep it or at least have the balls to explain why you have changed it. Being politaclly correct is what is ruining this country.
  11. Stuck in chitown, My point exactly. The kid did a tremedous job. I wonder just how good he could have been with some of the great lines, other backs to share the load, and not being the main cog in the offense. I do not think we have had a back demonstrate the desire that Cory displayed. I have said before that I really could care less about pro football, but I will follow him at whatever team he ends up at. I think he will turn into a very good pro back if really given the opportunity.
  12. Well at least he does not claim to be the former coach as some former fans do. Who gives a rats ass what he wears. Is he doing the job he was hired to do? He was not hired to satisfy certain fans, make Oklahoma fans love him. He is here to improve the record of Nebraska and bring quality players to the program. He seems comitted to that more so than what left. He has not been cited for DWI. To me he has turned out to be a tremendous improvement. Over a person I personally know and like. He is all about Nebraska and returning us to the level we were once at. I have been watching Knight School. Have seen numerous times their coaches and Bobby Knight not wearing TT gear during the show. This was a total recruting show and positive video for the program. Amazing he did not feel the need to wear TT gear every second. Maybe they have some former fans that will complain about that. Maybe our former fan can go there and complain about that. I am almost to the point of ignoring the nay sayers. If all did it would quit and go away.
  13. Beautiful Foppa, simply beautiful Thanks for sharing.
  14. FF unfortunately is seeing things change at Nebraska. In most minds for the better. All he has to complain about now is the coach changing his clothes. Sad he has fallen to that level. Truly a man that does not want to see change in anything. We all got his two cents worth, now we can keep the change.
  15. I disagree with buchhalter and alexander totally. But you failed to name how many all american lienmen were playing with the others. If Ross had the horses some of the top 5 or 6 had he would be there with them. He stumbled a few times but it was because he was having to work so hard to get it done. Running on a turf toe that would normally stop anyone from playing. Give the kid the respect he truly deserves. I did not say the best back, you failed to mention him. I said one of the best. He did more with less than any you mentioned.
  16. Bernard, Could you give me the ten backs you feel that are better. And also factor in how many All American linemen played with them. And how many other top backs played at the same time, spelling them. How many top Fullbacks played with them. Cory was the only horse in the barn. We could not count on anyone else and every team we played knew it. Totally different situation for pretty much every back that has played at Nebraska. Very few fans really appreciate what this kid did. In my mind he was the only real Nebraska player we have had for quite awhile. Dedication, loyalty, team player and would crawl on the field to play when injured. He won a lot of games for this program by himself. It is too bad he played in the worst years of Nebraska football for a long time. Sad that is efforts are shadowed by a earlier staff that failed him.
  17. I think only two backs are healthy and here. Leon Jackson and Cody Glenn. I look for Leon to have a real good spring and Cody to show that he has the speed and durabilty to be the starter. I truly think they will be the two that come to the top in the fall. Wilson not being here this spring may hurt him, but if he blocks as well as he supposed to, he may be the dark horse. What a great problem to have.
  18. I have said the very same thing about Cory for a long time. I still think he is one of the best backs Nebraska has ever had. He carried this team on his shoulders for three years inspite of early coaching errors on ability. And basically the worst lines Nebraska has had in the last 40 years.
  19. I think we have a stable of good to great backs. I am not sure which ones are the great ones yet. BC will sort that out I am sure. But history shows that both Cody and Leon played in much tougher conferences in High School and performed every bit as well as Marlon in what is considered a very inferrior league in SoCal. The great thing about this no matter the outcome, we have talent that can put us back on top. I do not care which one it is. Just show me the money boys!!!!!!!
  20. Obviously his health issues center around his weak arms. He can not push himself away from the trough long enough to maintain a descent weight. He ate himself out of the Chargers and every where else from what I hear. All you had to do was see him at the Rose Bowl. He gained at least 30 pounds after the season to the Rose Bowl. He looked like he was nailed to the ground then. I can not even imagine how he got drafted. What a waist and I mean that both ways, sorry for the pun.
  21. I see he is still preparing for the season like he did while at Nebraska. So much talent and no desire to work.
  22. I have had athletes come back stronger and more dedicated after this type of injury. I think Matt is the type of athlete to do that. Still wanting to play after basically a year and half of rehab says alot. Most never develop the nerve to push hard on the injury. Some come back and are able to compete but never take the chances that are required to be the best at what they do. Either way Matt has given a tremendous amount to this program, showing the dedication to make the steps to return. I admire his effort and pray he returns to the field of play like he wants to.
  23. My guess he will go around the 5th. I think he will be drafted due to the fact that BC is the coach. I would guess there will be some questions due to his size but his heart is unquestioned. And BC will state that. BC is well thought of in the NFL and I think his comments will carry heavy weight on Cory. At least I sure hope so.. I have never much cared for Pro Football, but I will follow who ever Cory plays for.
  24. The comment by BC that he is starting to develop trust in his cutting ability. Trusting the heal to do the job you want it to do is the biggest question. Having faith that it is healed and you are not going to instantly break it again and having to deal with the rehab again is one of the many hang ups. I have seen world class atheletes never compete again due to this type of fracture. In honesty it is way more a mental injury than a physical one for most athletes. Either way we all owe Matt a thanks for all he has done for this program and hopefully he will return as strong and dedicated as we was before this injury.
