  1. In the end though, Mizzou and KSU and CU are jokes of programs and not worth our hate. At least someone like OU is respectable, and even though I hate them, it's a hate born from the fact that they are a damn good program and we have a nearly equal series record over the long course of the two programs. We've had great games, and they've gone through us to win it all, and we've gone through them. That's how important it is. Mizzou, KSU, and CU are and always have been obsolete in the Big12/Big8, other than a few odd years where they've made some noise.
  2. How the hell can you like Southern Cal? They are polar opposites to Nebraska in everything they do. They disgust me.
  3. Since meeting you I now root for whoever is playing Mizzou.
  4. I'm not sure how we'll fare against VTech, but in theory I would think that the defensive scheme is easy - STOP THE RUN and you win the game. If you force Tyrod to throw they are in big trouble. He has more INT's than touchdown passes if I'm not mistaken. If we can box him in, beat down their rushing attack, we should win the game. Easier said than done, unfortunately.
  5. Lee is in my opinion the best pure passer we've had in a long, long time. Certainly since Taylor. His mechanics are smooth, he's poised, and he makes good decisions. I think at least as far as QB we will be much better off against VT with him than Ganz. If you remember, Ganz threw a big pick deep in our own territory, digging us into an early hole. Lee's passes will be much better thrown I expect.
  6. I thought your story was going to take a turn where Andrew made a pass at your wife or something haha. Funny story though.
  7. I agree. Watching Texas struggle early vs. Wyoming was reassuring, and watching OSU go down, despite looking bad for conference, was somehow exhilarating. CU eating it was great too, but my personal favorite so far is Mizzou down in a 20-13 game against Bowling Green. I don't know that we'll hear too many more arrogant comments from our Tiger friends, win or lose. I'm feeling more confident about the Big 12 than ever.
  8. I almost feel bad for Cody Hawkins. I think he's a decent QB. If you watched the whole game he had no protection from his line, tons of dropped passes, and had barely any help. I'm not saying he's great, but he's better than he looks I think.. why did Dan leave him in for the whole game? Announcers also said CU may not have the budget to buy out his contract.. having him around would be so awesome.
  9. Just because someone says that it won't be a close game doesn't mean they're not giving you respect. Some teams are better than others. If we played USC right now it probably wouldn't be close either. It's nearly guaranteed that Nebraska will dominate this game from start to finish. We're not taking anything away from you, it's just the way it's going to be.
  10. It's not going to happen. We all wish it would, but it's not. We are getting WAY ahead of ourselves. We first have to get past VT which will be very tough, then Missouri which could end up being just as tough. Our conference slate can go either way at a lot of points and chances are we won't win them all. Then play what will most likely be a hungry Texas or OSU? I don't think so. Like it was said, baby steps. Next year, depending on how we ended up this year and how everything pans out, we can possibly talk about a BCS game.
  11. Our recruiting class is decent so far, but I think we can all agree it could be better. And if you don't think FSU/Miami are stock full of talent you're blind. They are very, very athletic. The important thing is that hopefully our class gets better over the years until we're competing with the best.
  12. It doesn't matter if we're ranked 3 until we get past VT and then into our conference schedule. We need to pass those tests first and foremost before we know where we stand. The end season polls are really the only ones that matter. What I don't get right now is how USC is above Alabama after beating a terrible San Jose St. team, while Alabama proved itself against #7. More USC love I guess. One could also argue for Bama #1 since they're the only ones who've proven anything thus far, until the other teams catch up. Polls are pretty pointless.
  13. Yeah, it's great to see 3 commits in as many days or so. I hope these guys are quality talent.
  14. This is why I love Pelini. He is in constant pursuit of perfection. No matter how good we play, he wants and expects more, and thus so too do the players. We are going to see our teams get progressively better and better.
  15. Jen got banned? Guess that attitude got her in trouble.. of course I almost got banned on my first day so who am I to talk.
  16. LOL about the Jen quote.. that was great. I do not want Hawkins fired. Then they might get a better coach who can actually do something. Long live Hawkins!
  17. I love it.. although, my philosophy is that I want CU to do bad but not so bad that they fire Hawkins. I want him around for a long time.
  18. Mizzou does look scary, but although one might think immediately that Illinois is much better than FAU, they had some serious problems yesterday and I wonder how good they really are. Unfortunately I think it'll be a close one. VT is going to be tough, even if their offense was down, their D looked for the most part very solid.
  19. While VT gave it up to Ingram all night, I wonder if Helu can do the same. They look like opposite style running backs to me. Helu is a "slasher" (heard that word about 30 times on PPV) while Ingram is like a rhinocerous. More than anything I hope it's a close, entertaining game.
  20. Despite their loss tonight, which I hated to see, they looked like a pretty damn good football team. Their defense was solid although it did give up gains in big chunks, and we know they have a return threat. Nebraska played an awesome game today, but I'm still pretty worried about this game in Blacksburg. I just hope Alabama took some of their fire and hope away. It should be a good one, but I still think, unfortunately, VT has the edge. Your thoughts?
  21. I did wish the defense allowed less yards tonight, but in the end you have to be happy with the biggest score. 3. Keep in mind last year's opening games, how much the opposing teams scored, and how well we progressed over the season. If we can improve that much this season, we've got good things coming our way.
  22. You would like them to be as highly rated as possible, and I agree. However, I just tell myself they'll still both be ranked, and pretty high. VT will be around 15 give or take a few I would imagine, OU by the time we play them could be back at number 3 or down quite a bit, but you can bet they'll be in the top 20. A win over a top 20 is what we need right now, and no matter what OU is ranked, with the domination they've had in recent years a victory over them would be huge.
  23. Although I hate OU, I kind of wanted to see them pull it out, both because they likely would have if Bradford had stayed in and because it makes the conference look better, especially after OSU's sound victory over Georgia. Injuries are a part of the game though... I wonder how this will fare for the conference and for Nebraska as the season goes on.
  24. I hope he just screams "BYYYAAAAAAAAAAAH" and charges. That'd be money.
