  1. I've never been impressed with Asante, but I'm hoping that's just bad coaching up to this point, and in year two he will make some serious gains. I just hope I stop holding my breath when they launch a bomb in his direction.
  2. Wait I just had a better idea... a Bull. No, no, no, even better - a rhino.
  3. Can you even imagine a horse with a football secured tightly in his mouth, barreling down the field? Unstoppable.
  4. It's hard to decide what the best course of action would be; save his talent and put in LT or someone else and cut our losses for the year - or burn his redshirt early to give him playing time and experience in case Lee is injured later on.
  5. If you can find a post where I've "talked up another school" I'd love to see it. I personally am not worried about OSU and how many recruits they have or that they've "stolen" our offers; I'm just telling him don't worry about being called a troll, this board is less than welcoming to new people, especially if they bring up anything that could remotely be taken in a negative light. Call me what you want, I still have high hopes for the season.
  6. Don't worry I was accused of being a K State fan and a troll on my first day too. You have to be careful not to say anything remotely negative or you'll get that on here. Don't even be realistic. Just extremely, extremely positive. Because if we pretend it's going to be alright, it will be.
  7. Well while it's probably not true in this case, it is in some. You can't tell me without Vince Young that Texas would have stood a chance of coming back against USC. As far as I'm concerned the loss of Castille is a big disappointment following his game in the Gator Bowl. I expected big things of him this year, and should Helu get hurt we may have real problems. But overall, yes, I doubt his loss will make a huge impact. Let's hope not anyway. I still have high hopes for the season.
  8. This is a good article from Huskerpedia about coaches who've taken their team to another level by year two, and addresses the question of whether or not Nebraska can do it. I love articles like this, and it makes you optimistic about this season. I like to think we'll make big progress in this year and even more in 2010. Enjoy. http://www.dailynebraskan.com/sports/pelin...charm-1.1817291
  9. In that video he didn't but the Rivals site said that he made up his mind to take his 5th to Nebraska. I don't know if he's changed that thought or if it just wasn't mentioned.
  10. I've never really played those NCAA games and I'm somewhat of a "star gazer." I think it has more to do the correlation between good recruiting classes and success on the field, namely National Championships. It's the talent behind the stars I think everyone's worried about; we don't want to get lesser talent when we should be pushing for the best. And whether or not you disagree completely with the rating system, being in the top ten of recruiting looks a lot better than being in the 30-40 range regardless of how accurate it is. Bottom line is that people want good players and good talent to work with as we continue to push for the top.
  11. Well technically yes, he just liked us because we were good... but how can you blame a guy for liking Nebraska? Come on...
  12. Keanu Reeves DID come to the USC game and was rooting for USC. I remember because I went home and wikipedia'd his bio - he was born abroad and grew up in Canada if I remember correctly, and I remember being pissed he was a bandwagon fan. It's probably photoshopped.
  13. Rivals just said this guy is taking a visit to see us sometime in the fall or after the season is over. He's also going to USC, UCLA, Florida, and Cal. We still have a ton of competition but the fact that we're one of his visits is promising. JP has done a hell of a job recruiting this guy so far, and if they can get Suh to talk to him we could get him here. Keep our hopes up.
  14. Who knows how Green has improved over the summer though. The way the article was written, he would be used as a 3rd down threat or goal line threat. I can see him being very useful there, he's big and fast and could always dish it out to someone close too. If he's good enough and ready enough, I say use him for it.
  15. I think Kansas fans just come on here and tell us how bad we'll be to make their own insecurities about their season lessen a bit. I think Kansas will underachieve this year with such an inexperienced O-line, and am no more worried about them than I was last year.
  16. They still are one of the most inexperienced O-lines in the nation regardless of whether or not this guy contributed.
  17. Everything about those predictions was flattering, and I hope they all come true. I especially want to see a more aggressive and powerful defense that forces more turnovers... reading things like this just makes me ache for the season to start.
  18. Rivals said the same thing, he seems to be stepping up. I didn't realize what a beast he is, like 6'5. We could have one badass D-Line this year.
  19. I don't buy that. They will have more experience than they did at the beginning obviously, but I don't think it's going to help against our biggest strength, the D-line. A young and inexperienced O-line is very crippling. No matter how well they develop by November I don't see them being able to contain Suh as well as the other guys who apparently have stepped up quite a bit.
  20. He committed to TT because Leach called him and talked to him the other night for a long time and apparently convinced him. The heartbreaking thing is he said that he was probably going to go with Nebraska, too. I only believe we'll get commits when they actually commit. I remember after the spring game Rivals said Dillon Bonnell was a 100% guarantee commit in the next few days. He's now at Stanford.
  21. Doesn't Kansas have one of the most inexperienced OL crews in the nation? Like literally they fall at 115th or something close to that in number of starts. That's going to be a big problem against a D-line like Nebraska's. Reesing will be running for his life.
  22. And Texas only having 9 wins, losing to OU, Mizzou, and OSU? OU I can see and possibly OSU, but they will not lose to Missouri.
  23. I'll just pretend it's Ronald Powell.
  24. I wonder what your English teacher would say about your use of the word "you're." And yeah, I know Rivals doesn't give small-town kids their dues, I'm sure he'll be a good athlete for us and I'd be willing to bet he has a harder work ethic than most of the kids on the team. He's homegrown and has always wanted to be a Cornhusker. If he turns out like Swift you can't ask for much more.
