  1. Where is Formerfan these days? Our favorite doom and gloomer is nowhere to be seen? He is from this board isn't he?
  2. Actually, are you thinking about that shot in SI of Terry Conneally hovered over Frank Costa of Miami where he's pointing to him after a sack in the '94 Orange Bowl? That would make a good one!
  3. Stanford Rivals.com link C'mon Jarrett Lee....We need you.
  4. Roy, you nailed it. I would love for the telecast to show what happened last year and then as one would expect contrast it with the good behavior and class of our fans. Wouldn't that be cool?
  5. Calli mentioned in his post 2006 recruiting class press conference that 2 QBs will certainly be something they will consider. I like the idea of one pro-style QB, and one dual-threat QB. However next year's QB recruiting plays out I would most definitely like to see us avoid another situation where a decommit leaves us with zilch. I trust the coaching staff has learned from this lesson and won't get burned again. What about L.D Crow from Clearwater, Florida? I believe he is from the same high school as Beck and maybe Beck can help land this kid?
  6. Man, I can't wait for not only Octavian and Bradley to come back but Herian as well. Two monster playmakers on defense and one on offense back healthy will be huge and you put that together with new and improved talent...wow! I believe great things are in store for Husker Nation next season.
  7. Player: Austin Cassidy Hometown: Lincoln (Southwest), NE Position: QB Height: 6’1” Weight: 188 40 time: 4.88 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Favorites: Nebraska Rankings/Stars: Rivals: NR/ Bid Red Report: NR/ Assessing the talent: Pro-style QB. Attended Manhatten Nike Training Camp. Little is known about him at this time. Nameless or Eric? Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: Greater than 10%? Currently lives and attending high school in Nebraska and has the Huskers as his lone favorite.
  8. I like Bill Callahan and admittedly started out with a "wait and see" approach. I truly wanted to succeed from the very beginning and knew that we needed to be patient. I knew success wasn't going to come overnight. I believe in this coaching staff and continue to support them. It appears that this program has turned the corner and is on the road to great success. Do we need to continue to be patient? You bet! I believe we are still one to two years away from being the Nebraska that we are know and remember. The Nebraska that all colleges wanted to be with a long and proud tradition! Go Big Red!
  9. This raises a valuable question for all of us out-of-staters who might want to make the trip and go to a home game....Is it realistically possible to catch a flight, get your hotel room, and expect to be able to get a ticket on gameday in front of Memorial Stadium? Or is it better to use a ticket brokerage service and actually have a ticket in your hands before you even make the trip? Brokerages typically charge anywhere from $175 to $685 per ticket depending on where the seat is located. How do those prices compare to scalpers? Are their other resources available that might help save some money?
  10. Not exactly the kind of representation from Nebraska that I had in mind....
  11. That post kinda felt like looking at a pig with a gold ring in its snout, but thanks for the comments. It's always satisfying to go into a game as the underdog playing against a media darling like Michigan and silence the critics. Like many others I believe Nebraska has begun to turn the corner and will someday return to national prominence. Meanwhile, the ride is sure fun.
  12. He is attempting to contact the Huskers on his own... Not a subscriber, but the tease makes for an interesting read: Greg McElroy Contacts Nebraska
  13. It's True...Freeman is a Wildcat
  14. How can you not love this kid? He's been tough and has improved quite a bit over the the course of the season. His greatest legacy might be that he helped the Huskers transition and passed on his knowledge of the WCO to the younger QBs like Beck and Freeman. Will he ever rack up Brett Favre type numbers? Maybe not...but his contribution to this program cannot be discounted. I'm glad he's on our team!
  15. I agree with some of the other posts....Allen Bradford and David Ausberry look slim to none right now. I'd be surprised if they committed to NU. I like our chances with Jonas Mouton, Adrian Clayborn, Antwaan Cobb, and Ricky Thenarse.
  16. I would much rather be where Nebraska is today than where the Sooners are today as far as a program goes....We're improving while they on the otherhand are in a state of decline. I couldn't be prouder of our players yesterday. They played with a lot of heart and never quit. As one earlier post said, we "experienced growing pains" playing Tech and unfortunately came up short. But it in terms of growth, we made huge strides.
  17. For you Husker fans living in Western Washington (around Seattle/Bellevue) the place to watch Husker football is the Lucky 7 Restaraunt. Here is the link to their website: http://www.thelucky7.com/index.html
  18. To declare a kid who just left high school, his family, his familiar surroundings, his players, his coaches, his playbook, and his friends "a bust" is the most outrageously absurd thing I can imagine. And as an earlier post stated, it shows how little you really know about football. Beck has barely been on campus 4 months and has a couple of practices under his belt and you're already ready to declare him a bust...nice. You might wanna rethink your post for lack of intelligence.
  19. Pulled this quote from a recent article. I believe this has to be the attitude of the entire team. I certainly hope so... “We’re not looking at any big goals this year,” senior wide receiver Mark LeFlore said. “The focus right now is one game at a time. We can’t look back on last year and dwell on it. We want to take our game to another level. There are no excuses for us this time.”
  20. Here is a list of the kids scheduled to visit for the Maine game. You know what to do Husker Nation! 5* LB 1 Allen Bradford Colton, CA 6-0/222/4.55 5* CB 2 Devin Ross Rancho Cucamonga, CA 5-11/180/4.45 5* S 4 Jonas Mouton Los Angeles, CA 6-2/212/4.60 4* WR 13 Terrell Reese Pflugerville, TX 6-4/192/4.64 3* RB NR Antwan Cobb Pflugerville, TX 5-10.5/185/4.62 3* WR NR Anthony Houston San Diego, CA 6-4/200/4.46 1*WR NR Chris Mitchell Marrero, LA 6-0/170/4.50 1*CB NR Cam Nelson Dallas, TX 6-1/175/4.55 I wish I could be there but I'm just trying to do my part and rally the troops.
  21. I refer to this game as the "Debacle in the Desert" and man I hate that game and any memory of it. Talk about lack of execution....The Huskers couldn't get anything offensively going in that game.
  22. Pretty fair article but I'm hoping for at least 7 wins and a bowl bid.
  23. I remember my first visit to Lincoln in 1999 to watch the Huskers take on the Washington Huskies. It was the fullfillment of a lifelong dream to go to a home game. I was surreal and felt like a dream....I cannot tell you how much fun I had and what that trip meant to me. I can't wait to go again and am looking at '06. The atmosphere is absolutely electric. The fans dressed in red, the tailgaiting, the tunnelwalk, watching the team take the field is one of the greatest thrills in my life. Words alone cannot describe this experience. If you have not been to a home Husker game, it is something you gotta do...It is worth every cent. I sold satellite dishes for a year to earn the extra money to go and I would do it again.
