  1. It's either on ABC or ESPN2 everywhere in the US. Which channel is determined by location, not by DirectTV.
  2. Absolutely. Michigan doesn't have to play Wisky, but MSU plays them next week, so MSU beating Michigan really leveled the standings for the division.
  3. MSU's defense was dominant; the best BIG defense this year IMO. They contained Robinson by stacking the box, blitzing, and playing man coverage with their corners. Honestly, DRob looks like he has limitations pretty similar to Taylor; he's just not a great passer. If our corners can play man without safety help, we'll have a good shot to contain the Michigan offense, but I'm not sure they can at this point.
  4. The PAC-12 network model is different from the B1G in that they are launching multiple regional networks. LHN would fit right into the PAC-12 model if TX would just share its network with Texas Tech. So if ESPN is willing to renegotiate the network deal (which they might be struggling as it is) it's not really an obstacle to PAC-12 expansion.
  5. I got BTN in Utah with America's Top 120+ and the sports package. Now, for the Wyoming game I might have to go up to 200 to get Versus...
  6. Helu with 14 carries/101 yards tonight for the Redskins

I think Helu will have a few good seasons in the NFL if he becomes slightly more elusive and stays way from injuries. The problem is he isn't fast in NFL standards and isn't a "run-em-ver" back either.

      I wish I could +1 the atta'roy.

  7. Dish is way cheaper for me than DirectTV would be at my programming level. Since I'm not in Big10 country, I have to pay an extra $7/month during football season for BTN, but it's still absolutely the better deal for me (especially since I like having NFL RedZone). The sports package is easy to add right when football season starts and then drop again when it ends for us out of area fans and really doesn't cost that much. Basically, don't just jump to DirectTV for the BTN, weigh your options and costs first. edit: also, all 120+ adds on Dish is local sports channels, so I'd imagine it will be revised to include the BTN in Nebraska fairly soon. I don't subscribe to it because I could care less about having Mountain West local sports.
  8. Cody Green Brion Carnes Bubba Starling (maybe) Jamal Turner
  9. Isn't that the norm? You have to sit out a year after transferring. Yeah, if a player transfers to another FBS school, they have to sit out a year. I think they have to sit out 2 years if they transfer within their own conference.
  10. If Ohio St wins out, its a 3 way tie so BCS ranking decides who goes to the Rose Bowl, which favors Wisconsin. If Ohio St loses then Michigan St would have the tie-breaker over Wisconsin.
  11. I could see jumping TCU, but IMO we would need 2 of Oregon, Auburn, and Boise St to lose. And we would still have to get lucky to jump LSU.
  12. How cool! Do you happen to know if this works on the PS3? ESPN only advertises it for X-box Live, so I don't think so. Might be worth a try though?
  13. The schedule on ESPN.com shows us as the reverse mirror with Oklahoma/Baylor. Most of the country should get the game on ABC or ESPN2. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4903371
  14. Yeah, we were losing yards every other play. Martinez was passing OK, but his runs were going for negative yards. Lee came in and the offense started moving down the field methodically. Even though the receivers were dropping passes, he was making the right read and getting 3-4 yards when they took away the backs. Martinez had 3 touchdown passes dropped in nearly 3 quarters and Lee had one dropped in his quarter, so the passing was really pretty close. However, despite having less talent Lee was executing the running game better and getting positive yards nearly every rush. Martinez will get it figured out, but today was not his day. Just a thought but I think that all the yards that you are talking about are the personal fouls and unsportsmanlike calls that went against Texas. That is the only thing that kept that drive alive. Damn Now I sound like a Lee hater and I am not I just want the best player in the damn game. Lee's first drive: 83 yards (30 of them penalty) Previous 5 drives: 48 yards I want the player who gives us the best chance to win and T-mart will be that in the future, but he just wasn't getting the job done.
  15. Yeah, we were losing yards every other play. Martinez was passing OK, but his runs were going for negative yards. Lee came in and the offense started moving down the field methodically. 16. I completely disagree. Martinez was getting nowhere and was making the wrong read in the running game over and over. Lee came in and gave us a shot to get back in the game. You don't stick with a quarterback just to show you believe in him, you go with the guy who gives you the best chance to win. Martinez will probably keep the starting job, but the coaches had to try to get the offense running.
  17. One other thing that I would ad is: When you replace a Qb that running is his strength, for a QB that passing is his strength Why in Gods Name would you keep running the F-ING Zone Read? I know that our recievers were dropping the ball which is inexcusable, but having Zac come in and run the F-ING ball is even more inexcusable. Taylor could have finished this game the same way. Why even take him out? Now we have a freshmen that has lost even more confidence because of the coaching staff. Sorry that is NOT how you get your F-ING spark!!!!! You keep running the zone read because it's working. Even Lee was getting 3-4 yards a pop and the RBs were getting 6-7 yards. Even though T-mart is more explosive, he was making the wrong read way too often. Lee made the right read almost every time, which kept the offense moving.
  18. The zone read is Martinez's bread and butter. If T-mart can't run the zone read, he shouldn't be in the game. Right call by Watson to take him out.
  19. amen. our offense is averaging almost 500 yards of offense in the first two games. there is waaaayyyy too much pessimism going on here. Our offense did the same last year during the Sun Belt stretch. Numbers mean next to nothing right now. The offense is making way too many mistakes for the level of competition and I too am concerned.
  20. No complaints from me. Those are valid, rational reasons to think this season could fall short of all the top 5-10 predictions people are throwing around. We could seriously have 4 losses and play in the Cotton or Holiday bowl. Or we could go undefeated and win the MNC. That's why preseason polls are mostly terrible. Every college team comes in with major question marks and until we see the teams take the field it's impossible to separate the real contenders from the also-rans.
  21. You're right, he probably will get a look at both, but most scouts seem to think that his hitting is superior to his pitching at this point. It's also more common for pitchers to convert to postion players than vice versa, so he projects to outfield at this point. That could change depending on the scout you're talking to. For reference, here's a link to some guy in some blog rating Bubba as the #18 high school prospect for next year. Link And another link to some other guy rating him as the 20th overall prospect. Link And finally this, from Baseball America:
  22. That really is a good rule for late round draft picks. The projected number 1 pick next year is SS Anthony Rendon. He was a late round (26th?) pick a couple years ago out of high school, but went to college instead and is now projected to be the #1 overall pick. 3 years in college will earn him millions of dollars. As Bubba is projected as an outfielder rather than a pitcher, that bodes well. Like you said though, that really only works for late round players. If Bubba goes in the first 2 rounds or is offered overslot money (typical for players who fall in the draft because teams don't think they'll sign), I have a really hard time seeing him turning it down. I know I'd have a hard time turning down 1-5 million and a shot at MiLB to go to college. But if he's a late rounder, he could improve his stock alot by going to college.
  23. Seriously, how heavily are they rating defense? Most of the teams on their list don't even compare to 1995 Nebraska's offensive numbers. I love this part But the nearest team in points scored (1993 FSU) has 100 points fewer than the '95 Huskers even though they played one more game. That must mean their offense was only good, not outstanding right? And how about the 2002 Ohio State team? Giving up 9 more points than the Huskers (albeit in 2 more games), but scoring 228 fewer points even though they played 2 more games? How does that qualify either their defense or their offense as outstanding and get them rated above the '95 Huskers? Oh well, I guess it just points out how flawed their formula is.
  24. Good for you guys. He looks like a stud. Hope you can close the deal with this kid (since we have absolutely no shot).
