  1. To me being back means expecting to at least have a respectable chance at winning no matter who the opponent is, and when the Huskers do happen to lose game -- it takes so much for the opponent to get that win that they play at a diminished capacity for the rest of the season.
  2. He was good enough to have Texas beat with two seconds left. umm... no .. the defense was the only reason the Huskers were in the game. The offense was lethargic as all season long.
  3. The new knowledge that he played hurt does nothing to redeem him in my eyes. By keeping it secret he cost the team IMO. He was being selfish for playing time that would have helped developed Latravis Washinton or Cody Green. All the huskers needed was one more field goal in that game against Texas. Now lollypoppers are beating their chests and saying "I told you so" because the bowl game wasn't another disaster. I feel let down. That bowl game was nothing more than an exhibition game in my eyes. With this GREAT defense the Huskers should have been playing for so much more. But no. Zac Lee was hiding his injury and hogging playing time at the cost of the team.
  4. I would try to get Scott Frost to be the new OC.
  5. If so please review those last moments and give your objective thoughts...
  6. I see foreshadowing in Coach Pelini's comments before halftime......... "Back to the drawing board". Someone could be getting fired.
  7. Honestly, I think it would just divert the vote to the "next" quarterback. As much as I'd love to see Suh get it, I just don't see it going to a non-quarterback.
  8. Here's today's Shatel: Great to see some changes.... http://omaha.com/article/20091114/BIGRED/711149770/-1/bigred
  9. Power I formation with play action passing. maybe the fullback goes up the gut -- maybe a handoff or quick pitch to the side -- or fake handoff and a pass downfield. -- -- keep them guessing from the power I formation.
  10. How does one become either a “REALIST” or a “LOLLIPOPPER”? What category would someone that is pessimistically optimistic belong to? For the record the KU game will not be a letdown unless we come out and totally have a meltdown turnover wise like against ISU. Lollipoppers are the ones coming out here picking fights after wins. They get mad at people who aren't all, "gumdrops and lollypops" about the Huskers all the time. Everyone else would be realists. Oh yeah -- what's the fascination with having other board members, "Wear a dress"? Maybe it's just me, but... I for one, don't care to see any man "wearing a dress".
  11. It will be a letdown for the lollypoppers who have bought in to all that "we're back baby!" hullabaloo. It can't be a letdown for the realists out there because we know the offense stinks. I don't think we really knew that after the missouri game because we all thought the weather was a factor. It will be a nice surprise if the offense can move the ball and score, and I really hope it happens. -----but not unexpected if it doesn't happen. I think the defense could win this game on their own -but our great D has been exposed for a few big plays --so nothing is in the bag til it's over. GBR.
  12. I think it matters -- for recruiting and for TV exposure.
  13. Why pick fights with arm-chair analysts now? This was a awesome game for the defense, but it was a very very far cry from "redemption" for the offense. This season has shown us that the Huskers can get beat by teams that they were supposed to beat, and can beat teams that were supposed to be the biggest challenges. The offense is still a problem. I'm beginning to wonder if the offensive problems are part of the hangover from the Callahan era...a.k.a. he gutted the walk-on program which was our pipeline for the O-Line.
  14. This defense is AWESOME! The win against OU was HUGE. That being said there are still problems on offense. It's not time to get the gumdrops out just yet.
  15. Obviously there are two types of Husker fans.....realists and lollypoppers. Lollypoppers get really mad if you question or make any comment about the Huskers that isn't as I saw another poster say, "Gumdrops and Lollypops"!! "A fwuffy wittle animal" As Dr. Evil would say, "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight."
  16. I think the Huskers problems with Watson's offense can be boiled down to the fact that by the time a player is ready to be productive in this system -- they are too close to losing eligibility for the long learning curve to truly "pay off".
  17. "Under the legal limit" It just smells fishy to me. He cause $10,000 damage to his car -- $8000 to one -- and TOTALLED another??? An athlete of his caliber should have better reflexes. Maybe he wasn't drunk - I guess I'll go with that -- so for his punishment he should be forced to play Fullback -- taking snaps on both sides of the ball on Saturday.
  18. Yes, the Huskers may win the North and be 7-5 - but it would be about as satisfying as Homer Simpson chanting, "DEFAULT DEFAULT!!!"
  19. I think it also needs to be pointed out that Nebraska's defense, although stout has been burned by big plays at least once or twice in every game.
  20. Wow! I'm thinking about flying to Vegas and betting the deed to my house!
  21. Even without Bradford the OU offense is able to make first downs and score points. That is way more that one can say about the Huskers. HUSKERS -- prove me wrong!!!! I'm begging you PROVE ME WRONG!!!!
  22. I don't think the Sooners will hang 42 on this Husker defense -- I think it will be in the twenties though. If the Husker Offense can, it must score thrice and the if the Dfense or special teams can get one two -- it's a game. Do I think this O can do it? ...... Probobly not.
  23. Okay, I've read all the posts since my post further up the thread. Doesn't anyone want to answer my question? Before you start on the "we don't have the personnel" excuse, explain Bill Snyder's success with KSU this year. Is there something we can learn from him? For you pups out there that were filling your diapers when he was coaching, Snyder's that old dinosaur dude that represents an era of football that "no longer works nowadays." What is Snyder doing with Peru State-caliber athletes that is generating success in the Big 12? Riddle me that, Batman.
