  1. That isn't necessarily true. There can be many reasons someone gets fired. Um but this is exactly why he was fired
  2. Fair points^ All I can say about Gerry is I enjoyed watching him play here. I thought he was really good, but I thought he could have been better. He proved that theory by making himself ineligible due to lack effort. He was the only Huskerboard drafted this year, that says a lot about his potential that I believe he nevef reached here. That's what I say when I read your posts......
  3. This is exactly correct, the narrative of sabotage and that the buy in was not there is hilarious. Why did the pass coverage suffer, well because it was the incorrect way to play. As proven by Mike firing Banker, Mike didn't buy in either after he saw continuous and repeated breaks in the defense. Mike didn't buy in so why is the notion of Gerry thinking it was awful a terrible thing? The problem was the over matched coach with an outdated and non aggressive scheme. I do not agree with this poster very much, but this is a great post.
  4. That matters zero to a teams success. See Frost or Frazier Matters zero to a teams success is quite a stretch. I'll use an example like you. The line in longest yard didn't like the quarterback so they didn't block. Probably has the same amount of validity as your comment. Video for proof I'm confused on what you actually think happens on the field or in work-life. There many, let's use the words, "rumblings" of ex players stating how neither of those players was well liked by the team. If you don't like your boss does that mean your not going to your job? Because not doing your job, gets you fired not your boss. Do you see the point here?
  5. Mike didn't buy into Bankers defense either so....what are you saying?

  7. Only one year since 2004 have we had more draft picks than we had last year. Which would include all Callahan's classes. But whatever makes you feel better. Doesn't change the fact that we won't have that many this year and he was clearly referencing this season. We had a senior laden team with no depth behind them that could maybe get 2 drafted. I think he has a point. Eh, the story last year was we didn't have as much talent as Purdue and that didn't really turn out to be the case. And what Pelini left clearly includes last year's team so it's pretty obvious that not all the struggles can be blamed on talent. And #9Wins used to be guaranteed by the schedule. Now it's apparently pretty impressive. People weren't expecting as many or as high of draft picks as we got last year so I guess I'll wait until it's actually over before casting judgement. There is so much bs in your post. You take artist liberties pretty seriously.I seriously think you are the biggest troll here. I thought that was me? Also I do agree, most people here won't attribute any short comings on the current staff. You really haven't been around very long have you? It was discussed in great detail with a lot of people agreeing that there were shortcomings on the staff. Namely: Banker Read Stewart Hughes Many people still think there are short comings in Davis and Cavanaugh. There was a lot of discussion about Riley being a disappointment until he started making these changes. Even then, there was a lot of disappointment that these coaches were hired in the first place. Well my little thing says Sept of 2009, so I think I have been. The changes he has made have resulted in ZERO better football play so far. As far as the coach's go, Riley is the one that hired those people as coaches to win, so you are saying that him hiring and firing people himself have made us better on the field? Or is that just a conjecture based on hope and no real statical fact? Or do you need to quote me something something Riley didn't have resources, and Bob once had a good defense at Norte Dame against one the easiest schedules in football?

  9. Except for actually playing good football on offense, or defense, or special teams, in any improving capacity. Cool post, first I am not a troll. Do you want me to go down the list a factual evidence of what has actually happened? Everyone can have their own opinion of this program rise but until there is actual statical and on the field evidence is yet to be proven. Remeber Riley's "good seasons" are outliers for him. That is all I am saying. Yes I do disagree with most of the sunshine pumpers on here, I like facts better then hope.
  10. Except for actually playing good football on offense, or defense, or special teams, in any improving capacity.
  11. Exactly we have trouble faking like we sell it out now. Why do we need more seats. If anything they need to decrease again
  12. Yes Danny Manning, can recruit the Midwest has way less competition then the east coast. It is no different then Isu, or Kansas State. Wake has not been good for awhile, plus you can get paid more here. You think Tom Crean would come here, he is a joke anyway. He couldn't main success in a basketball rich area, and a school that is easy to recruit to.
  13. Call Tom Crean's agent and see how much it would take for Crean to come to Lincoln. Why do people want this guy, he is not that good, go get Danny Manning
  14. No...he sucks? Why would a team that just went that far in the dance want him? He would be the 2nd guy off the bench and play the 3 for 7-10 minutes a game. He was a much bigger deal to our team. I don't think he sucked, people keep trying to justify it's not a big deal. It is a huge freaking deal
  15. Robin was also the one who said emphatically there would be no more transfers out of the program, just sayin
  16. Aaron Williams is on the field with Kalu. Kalu is replacing Kieron Williams/Reed. No he is not, let's get that straight
  17. Maybe if adidas actually made some Adidas husker gear people would like them more. They really don't put any effort into it. Look at all the schools that have Nike and under armour they put out some sweet gear for their schools. Adidas is very laughable, most Nebraska stuff is off brand not even adidas. First the basketball stuff they put out is on point, the white jerseys with the opaque lettering are awesome. The throw backs are also awesome, Tims throwback cursive sweatshirt another great one. I seriously think I am the only one that like the football ones they put out as well. It's ok the 50 year olds complaining about the uniforms doesn't matter to the athletes who like the stuff they put out.
  18. Why do people want to stop being unique, that's what can separate your your program
  19. That's being extremely generous. Heh. 53%, 5.9 Y/A, nearly a 1:1 TD/INT ratio. I think it's incredibly difficult to accurately evaluate his early career considering he missed time due to a concussion and played with a broken thumb(?) most of his last season at Tulane. And.....he was playing at Tulane being protected by a Tulane level offensive line. Against low level DLine, Backers, Secondary, it all evens out
  20. So if he's got the most talent in 15 years and gets the worst results, what does that mean? Ding ding ding
  21. Gotta go with this as well. One more year to give him credit for the major upswing in recruiting (results on the court be damned) and see what happens. No NCAA tourney and it's time to look at someone different because maybe Miles could do it eventually but it wouldn't be consistent. Where is all this talent you speak of? Just because they had some stars and were ranked in the top 150? Look I'm sorry but most teams clearly have better players then we do, it shows in our record. Or team is not young anymore they have played through two full schedules, that excuse is tired. The guys we have are just not that good, we can't even hold on to the ball while dribbling.
  22. And he gets to play for a significantly better coach
  23. Drinking early today? Do you remember how many people said Ameer Abdullah was going to be a total beast based on his 42 carries and 3.6 yard average in 2011? Would you trade an Ozigbo, Wilbon or Bryant straight up for Heard or Green right now? Cheers! In a heartbeat
  24. All of it was Pettaway, won't see that kind of player for a long time around here. The Morrow excuse is done with, don't want to here that anymore. Young team? Another one. Just wait until next year, but no just wait until the year after that. It's old and tired Than do not watch any more games! Why? I am a huge fan. Should I just give up buying season tickets for 12 years?
