I'm just like a lot of you, Okla was are rival when i was growing up, hated to see it end. I sure didn't want to change the Big 8 either but everything seems to change sooner or later. Like I posted before, adding those 4 teams didn't help us at all. Just kept the Texas kids at instate schools more. The one team I guess that I want us to beat the worst is Col, just because of the way their fans act. Then Texas, because of where their at now. But Okl is still my favorite game. GBR!!!

GBR!!! Why Bob Huggins? Yeah, he won a lot at Cincinatti, but he left a sordid past behind him there as well. I wouldn't want him as coach and I seriously doubt Pederson would be willing to stick his neck out for him. Most people learn from their mistakes and I think Steve P. could sit down and at least listen to what kind of ideas B.Huggins has and what he could bring to Neb. If there were any doubts at all you don't have to hire him. Name recognition helps in recruiting and he certainly has that. It may not all be good but alot of people have a little baggage they carry around. T.T didn't wait to hire Bobby K. and who had more problems then him, and it seemed to be work out for them. Bob Huggins won't be asked to bring us a N/C, but just be able to compete with the rest of the Big12 from time to time would be an upgrade for this program.IMHO... GBR!!!

I'm sure BC knows what he has in Herian and coach Watson said he was eager to coach Herian. If Herian is back at full strength I think you will see him running down the field on some long pass plays as well as his short turn ins. When you have a weapon that you didn't have last year, your going to make the other Big 12 coaches think about having to cover that type of big threat player. The more time that our opponents have to spend on that problem the less time they have to work on other schemes. Even if we never throw a long pass to Herian, just the threat has to worry a defensive coordinator. IMHO. GBR!!!

I was thinking a little along those same lines. would like to say we will be in the Big 12 Title game but I think we will need a few breaks in a couple of close games during the up coming season to get there. Don't no why I have that feeling just do. I think by the time Beck's a junior we will be at the top of the Big 12. I would like to say it will be sooner because I think we will be a lot better this year but still a lot of new guys to break in. Time will tell I guess. GBR!!!

Dr. Tom didn't need as many 4 or 5 stars as Bill C will need to keep the wco going year after year. It has to be much tougher to get the right players to fit this type of offense than the option offense. The option was all about over powering the other team. WCO seems more of a finesse type of offense to me. Does anyone else see it that way? GBR!!!

What your saying about Steve Lavin is true but the one thing he was able to do was recruit those kids that Ariz, Duke, Kan, N.C, ect wanted. Collier can't get that kind of player to want to come to Neb. Granted UCLA is a lot easier to recruit players to. If you can't even keep your own in state high school players from leaving [ the kid that went to Texas from our own back yard] I think that hes not going to be able turn the program around. We have just as good of fans as any school in the nation but they need to see some thing to get excited about. They would pack the center to the rafters if the team can just compete on a regular basis. The fan base is there and no one has fans like Nebraska's. GBR!!!

I think its your money and if you want to pay $100 for a ticket so be it. The real issue here is the State and Federal Goverments want their taxes on the profits the scalpers make, thats all. I can get tickets for any game if I call back home and ask one of my buddies to hook me up, never has been a problem. I just haven't been back at that time of year for awhile. GBR!!!

Those teams might not be the power house teams that a some of you might want to see us play, but you must have some of those types to get your back ups some playing time. Beck's not just going to walk in next year and throw for 300 yards out of the blue. Lucky, Glenn and the rest of the new starters have got a lot to learn real quick as they didn't get much playing time last year because of all those close games. The luxury T.O. had of playing his 2nd & 3rd strings are a ways off for this Husker team. You don't get better reading the play book, you need to be on the field and this schedule will do just that. IMHO. GBR!!!

Some very good points brought up on coach Callahan. I also think it took him a little while to figure out Husker tradition and how much it means to Husker Nation. We all seem to think that everyone out side of the program should know what its all about, I am as guilty as the next fan. It was probably a shock to coach Callahan that first year. He is getting it now thou.{lol} I know that a lot of my friends back in Lincoln surprised me by saying that they were sitting on the fence waiting to see how he would do or just didn't want to even give him a chance, and there are still a few who still our not sure. I wanted him to succeed from the first time he walked on the field. What ever it takes to keep the Huskers up there with the big boys. Yeah a lot of us were upset by the firing of F.Solich not because we thought he was going to get us to another N/C game but because he was family. Thats old news now and what evers good for the University of Nebraska is what I want no matter whos coaching the football program. I hope Callahan stays till he retires and if he does that, then that means that he had a great career there. GBR!!!

If hes still not sure he really wants to be a Husker its better to find out now before he commits and then figures he made a mistake. If he comes great if he doesn't we still have a good class coming in and we will just go on without him. We are a lot closer to being back at the top of the Big 12 and will get a lot more prime time exposer than he will get playing at Col. If he wants to make a name for himself he knows Neb is the right choice. Do we need him yes, can we do without him yes. Some one else will step up, they always do. GBR!!!

I think Nunn proved a lot to "himself" in the Alamo Bowl. He can be the man if keeps his head in the game. I was really surprised at how he preformed in that game. He looked like the player we all had heard he could be. I think it will be very hard to to push him out of the starting line up. Its his to lose but I think a light went on against Mich. GBR!!!

I for one am glad we are getting USC early they will be prety good later in the season. But who knows they might still be very strong in the begining. Texas has plenty of time to get their players on the same page by the time they get to Lincoln so that should be a good test for us. Looking forward to a very good season next year just hope we can get Beck a lot of playing time. GBR!!!

It would have been nice to have Zac Taylor for four years but when a juco can step in and do what hes done, I say theres nothing wrong with bring a few in each year if we need to add depth. These kids have to step up and play as hard as they can to get into the starting line up or get as much playing time as they can if they are going to get a chance to play at the next level. So I would think they might even work a little harder than a Freshman that has 4 years to get his game together. IMHO GBR!!!

Bob Huggins would be a good start to get this program turned around. Forget his teams with Cinn where he was in charge and everyone was afraid to to confront him. Steve P, would have to let him no, early on that hes going to have to build his team with not only the best players he can get but also that they need to be real students not just hired guns. Thats the Ath Dir job, hes paid to over see that things are being done right. Football has always been and will always be first in Husker fans hearts but if we are ever going to step up and play with the big boys, we need a coach that when he walks in a high school kids living room his attention is not just what school hes be asked to come to but "Who" the coach is thats asking.Sorry but Nebraska isn't going to peak a kids interest unless a coach of Bob Huggin"s stature or another big name shows up at their door step.
