  1. Was it 'Bama or Penn St. that did something similar in the '79 Sugar Bowl (back when it wasn't presented by Poulan or GW)? I remember something like that, but it was only used a couple of times. I saw this on ESPN a while ago, and it may be the next gimick offense for the NCAA.
  2. I think the Gubner should declare a state-wide holiday!
  3. Raiders have pretty nice fans as well. Nothing like CU or KSU. For the most part, I have found (other than those 2 sleazebag schools) the Big 12 to have pretty good fans!
  4. I hope the economy doesn't kill the streak... GO BIG RED!!!
  5. All-white unis have a losing record. All red is 0-1 (although I liked it at the time). NU has one of the best uniforms in history. Let's keep it that way. Besides, it looks boring. P.S. Nike may have a ton of money to give to Oregon, but their unis still suck bad!
  6. What the hell does it take to get a holding penalty called on the other team?
  7. Culbert and Prince didn't play Saturday because they can't figure out the defense. Not because they were injured. Less experienced ppl are playing in front of them b/c they get it. Smith and Huff didn't play in the second half because, well, they sucked it up on back to back holding calls (Smith was credited with both, but Barney said one was on Huff). Remember Bo barking at Barney? Well, he apparently listened. No more holding. With these guys, you don't perform, you don't play. Unlike the last 4 years when players played b/c of how many stars they had coming out of HS, not b/c of how good they were.
  8. I have only been back in Nebraska for 2 1/2 months, and I wish I could have heard last year's. I have almost had to pull the car over several times, I have laughed so hard at Bill from New York!
  9. Joe is a great guy, and a darn good QB. My heart is broken for him, especially since he played as well as he's ever played. While I believe his future is in coaching, he could make a great backup QB in the NFL (see: Gary Kubiak).
  10. From what I've seen of Spano, he could be a real stud!
  11. Meh, I would have liked to have seen a run, but I don't have a problem with the passes. Joey was great, he really needs our support now! BTW, the ref prolly didn't throw a flag on the play b/c it was uncatchable. How many of you think if it were TT on offense that it would have been called? I definately think they'd have called it on NU. Those refs sucked. They were just as bad in the OU-UT game, and then they tried to screw Arizona out of a win over Dallas! WTF???!!!
  12. Yep. The rest of the season begins Saturday. A win is imperative. If NU gets that, I'm going with 4-2 and a bowl game!
  13. I was really glad to see Joey start to throw it to him. He's got great potential. Too bad Callacan't burned his redshirt last year...moron.
  14. Asante is decent at run support. But he has no clue in pass defense. His fault on the 4th and 5. Chose to double up on the short post route, and let Crabtree go downfield without a look. He has done this before. He doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes. Bo's got some work to do in terms of recruiting, that's for sure!
  15. I don't want to say Murillo had a good game by any stretch. However, it was Asante's fault on the 4th and 5. Murillo looked as though he was playing zone, and let Crabtree go. Asante didn't even look at him, he went to double on the shorter post route for some reason. Even if it was man, Murillo should've had help over the top. All of our DB's are struggling, but it's the safeties who are leaving the field open time after time after time after time... Bo has got to be ready to slit his wrists. These guys have no idea what he wants them to do.........
  16. Suh's penalties are the result of being over aggressive, and mad. Once he learns how to control it better, he'll be ok.
  17. Joey has a huge heart. He has talent, but unfortunately not enough to put the team on his shoulders as he has tried to. He doesn't have enough experience, either. I love the kid, and am glad that we have him. BUT, Spano or Green are gonna make us forget him...IMO. Well, not forget, but not necessarily remember him like we do other past NU QB's.
  18. Just wondering where this came from based off the responses in this thread. I don't believe anyone was questioning Bo just wondering about the Talent level compared to what people are saying. Maybe I missed something though. I think there are other threads questioning the coaches though. Sorry, I'm all fired up after the embarassment Saturday. Bygones?
  19. I can't disagree that Suh is playing at a high level, but man, is the front 4 getting tired, and tired fast. Good thing Callahan left so many defensive linemen for Bo...I'm sure it was a good idea to have 7 QB's and 8 RB's on scholarship...
  20. Thank you NebHusker. It's his 6th game ever as head coach! Stop expecting miracles. We'll know in the next 2-3 years if he's the right guy for sure or not. I do know one thing, he's doing a lot of things right.
  21. Seriously, you guys wanna talk talent? I think it's pretty telling that Bo took a back up RB who hasn't played a down of defense since HS, moves him over to the other side of the line, and he becomes arguably NU's best player. Patience. I had it with Callahan. Many of you did, too. Bo is doing a lot of things right. Experts say it takes at least 6 months to break a bad habit. Bo has had 2 weeks in the spring, and now 2 months this fall. His track record speaks for itself. He's had success with his system on a consistent basis. I am confident he will get us there, it will just take more time than I had hoped. It's only his 6th game ever as a head coach! Was Alabama great last year? No. Was OU very good in Stoops's first year? No. Was KU very good in Mangino's first years? No. Have some faith. I know everyone wants to win, as do I, but sheesh.
  22. tu...chuckle. I like it, although I prefer to call them the Whorns. Good luck, aTm is actually a school I can respect...anyone who encourages making out with the closest hot girl after a TD is tops in my book!
  23. The list is a freaking joke. Young was good...but he didn't even win the Heisman. Neither did Frazier, but he did win 2 NC's while Young only won one. Also, there are some players in the bottom 15 that should have been in the top 10. A freaking joke. Also, has anyone listened to ESPN Radio lately? When Mushmouth talks about the '84 Orange Bowl? First he says Miami was up 17-0 at the half. Then he says Miami was the defending Nat'l Champs. Then he finally gives some true info on the tipped 2-pointer and the Fublerooski. I like ESPN most of the time, but they get their info wrong too many times...just like in the "greatest coach of all time poll"...they screwed up Oz's stats beyond recognition. They don't double check their info or something like that before saying or posting things waaaaaaay too often. I always take what they say with a grain of salt.
  24. I noticed that as well. Says a lot about how his players feel about him. Win or lose, his kids play hard.
  25. Um, Bo's defense saved the day today...gave up only 343 yards, had 2 KEY int's, one for the winning TD. Yeah, his defense sucks...with their best player at 75%, among other injuries... Sheesh. Bo will do just fine. I love his fire and aggressiveness. Count on his coaching style on both sides of the ball to be like his boss (until tomorrow or Monday), Miles--aggressive. One thing I believe we can all count on if it is true that Bo is the man...NU will almost always play hard, no matter the talent level.
