  1. That's exactly how I feel about our running of the option. And Green did not look one bit better than Lee on the option. Agreed. The option plays look very "forced" to me. The guys running the plays do not quite understand it or grew up running it. If we are going to run the option, we need guys who actually ran it at the HS level. How long did Frazier run the option as a QB? Wasn't he like 8? The team however does look a little more natural running out of the I formation.
  2. I am not a lip reader but it looked like he was saying "Why in The F are you running that play!!!!"
  3. Did anyone else see how Pelini went off on Watson after the Lee/Helu fumble? I think Pelini knew we had 3 points in the bag with the field position and did not like that pitch call (neither did I).
  4. This one's a sweet trick play too... Well. that should have been a dead ball for kicking (intent does not matter), but then a call like that would have deprived Matt of his entire post football career, as it seems that play comprises the totality of his knowledge. Man, get over it already. It was 12 years ago. It wasn't like the play occured on 5th down or something.
  5. Remember the failed fake punts/field goals last year?
  6. Wasn't Lee supposed to get in the Baylor game? I could have sworn I heard Pelini make mention of it at half time. I would have sat Green for at least one series for the pick six just to let him think things over. Then Lee would have had a chance to prove himself, because the offense was going NOWHERE fast.
  7. I appreciate the input from everyone. It is not a Lee vs. Green thing for me at all. I am just not willing to sacrifice this season for the betterment of Cody Green at the expense of every senior on the team. Especially when my belief is Green will be a Pryor, Tyrod Taylor type that never does pass well enough for our offense to be a legitimate threat. Hope I am wrong. But to say we are better right now with Green is ludicrous at best. No we are not, and all I have ever asked is (as one poster stated) critique both QB the same. We aren't, Green is getting excuses and passes, whereas Lee got an over abundant of negatives for the same damn thing Last time I checked Vince Young was someone who everyone said couldnt throw very good and he ended up being just fine in college. And it was the kids first start Tommie Frazier didnt come in and all of a sudden light it up either his first couple starts. Actually, he did. His first three starts were against Mizzu (away), Colorado (at home) and Kansas (at home). They beat Mizzu 34-24, Colorado was ranked 8th and we clobbered them 52-7, I was at that game. Kansas was ranked in the teens and we beat them 49-7. It was his fourth start that was the debacle at Iowa St. Then they beat both Oklahoma 33-9 and Kansas St. 38-24 (played in Tokyo, Japan.). I was at the Kansas game in 1992....but remember the Iowa State game after that?
  8. Were we watching the same game?! Some of Green's passes missed horribly. Did you forget about the skip passes? I have to agree with Travis here on every single point. Lee has looked shaken due to horrible line play and injured RBs. He did however need to work on getting rid of the ball sooner. I see us losing more games starting Green at this point than Lee. I think the switch to Green was only done to appease fans. Baylor does not have a good team at all. If Lee had started I bet we would have put up 2 more TDs in the game as well as not having a pick 6. After the Virginia Tech game and how Oklahoma looks now, who would you pick to win the game? my how things change. The only way we could win the Oklahoma is with Lee. A confident Lee that is.
  9. Before the season started and we knew the QB battle would be mainly between Lee/Witt and Spano I was hoping to see Lee/Spano//Washington/Green/Witt in that order. I think the injury to Spano is huge now and almost forgotten. I am a big Lee fan and supporter, but he is having some issues. Comparing Spano and Green in their first spring game to me was night and day. Green looked very green while Spano looked further along last year. I thought Washington looked very good and poised despite the limited playbook. Are they redshirting Washington? I think the calls to bench Frost in 1996 in favor of London were completely rediculous. The boos which he didn't deserve almost seemed to give him a charge and motivated him to really step up. Rememeber how mad he was on TV after he scored that TD at Washington? I think the boos Lee has received have hurt his psyche. He's damaged goods so to speak....
  10. cuz NU will NOT trail in this game. I don't know.... Have you noticed how the past games have started for NU? VT-long kickoff return to start game TT-tipped ball caught for long first down on first series Iowa State-fumble on first play What will it be against Baylor? Fumble on opening kickoff? Pick six on first drive? Long passing play for TD by Baylor on first drive? Robinson fumble in opening drive? Take your pick, chances are one of the above will happen. I still think Nebraska will win, but it will be an ugly game.
  11. Ditto on the Jason Peter comments. did anyone hear the Suh interview yesterday? The guy sounds a lot more mature than guys his age. After his football career is done I hope to see him in coaching or in a press box.
  12. because 6 games in you should see PROgression not REgression. Then why not bench Niles Paul? I could not believe what he did on that lateral pass. That play in my opinion turned the tide of that game to Texas Tech. Who was the O-lineman who just watched the tech player scoop the ball and take it in for the score? Bench. For whatever reason Texas Tech just wanted the game more than Nebraska. It was evident on the offensive side of the ball.
  13. You know with all of the talk about giving up on Lee and having Green start etc etc. Everyone seems to act like the sky is falling. Last night I was going through some of the preseason college football magazines and when you read the summary of the Huskers every one of them pointed out that our offense was very young and inexperienced. When these magazines came out, nobody complained about this assessment. Now that we are seeing the results of this known fact, why is everyone acting like the sky is falling?
  14. Was Watson the coach of your highschool football team when this happened?
  15. Good post. I could not have said it any better.
  16. That's a shame. Are you also saying that you do not listen to the hours of pre game and post game on 1110? And you call yourself a fan.... Back to the topic. I also like Pavelka, but I wouldn't trade Sharpe right now.
  17. Sorry. I was not impressed with the first incarnation of Josh Freeman. I was equally unipressed with him in a Missouri uniform.
  18. Why were you trolling on the Mizzou boards? Why do you hang out on Husker boards? It seems like a colossal waste of time. Are you waiting for someone from this board to verify that you are backing a good team and it was all worth while? I honestly could not picture the circumstance that would reduce me to go to another teams message boards and go post there. I mean really.

  20. So.... how many sockpuppets are you going to create to bolster your flagging ego? The best news you could hear is that some of our players are down with the flu, as has been mentioned in the other thread. Missouri lost to Kansas last year, yet still won the North. That game had far bigger implications than ours, coming so late in the year as it did, yet it wasn't a "huge" loss. I know you Tigers want to be relevant. I know you want to be considered among the elite of the conference. But no matter how many times you say it, this still isn't a huge game. How can Nebraska be relevant if we cannot beat Missouri? I thought that the Virginia Tech game was huge for the Huskers. A ranked team on the road, and a team we should have beaten last year. The Missouri game in my opinion is much bigger. It is a conference game against a team we have not even competed with the past 2 years. 2 embarrasing blow outs to a conference rival.... Beating Missouri at home after the past 2 seasons would indicate to me some rightng of the ship. That is of course we don't self destruct like Missouri in later games. I think Bo likes his chances in this game even though it is on the road. We all know that football games generally come down to line play even though the focus is on the skill positions. From what I have seen, Nebraska has an edge on both sides of the ball. It's going to take some meltdowns from Nebraska for Missouri to win this game. Tiger Tim, what is it with the hostility with other Missouri fans? I once went to a game in Lawrence in 2001 and while walking to the stadium and passing the frat houses I was invited to have beers (in my NU sweatshirt) with Kansas students. The only ribbing they gave me was how their basketball team would beat us and how we would lose to Miami. I am not kidding, those Kansas students predicted us getting shelled against Miami. Anyways, why aren't Missouri fans like this?
  21. Tiger Tim, even though you are a Missouri fan, I couldn't agree more with your post. It's going to be one heck of a game. Missouri has even given Nebraska fits in Columbia when they had inferior personnel. Make no mistake about this game it will be huge for Bo.
