  1. I know for someone we rode through all season it amazed me why he wasn't used more. Exactly! We put our offensive success on his shoulders all season, and he hardly saw any playing time in a championship game!? If he wasn't hurt, then that's low! And I agree that his type of running with our O line would have been more effective against Texas' D.
  2. Limitations on Reviewable Plays ARTICLE 6. No other plays or officiating decisions are reviewable. However, the replay official may correct egregious errors, including those involving the game clock, whether or not a play is reviewable. This excludes fouls that are not specifically reviewable (Reviewable fouls: Rules 12-3-2-c and d, 12-3-4-b and 12-3-5-a). Your wrong again, and you KNOW that there was one second left anyway. Stop focusing on the wrong reasons we lost. I'm disputing it due to the fact that the ref whistled the play over w/ zero seconds left on the clock. There was no reason to review the play for any reason! And if it were at any other point in the game - say the end of second quarter - that one second would not have been applied to the clock! This isn't the first time this has happened. I've seen it before. It happened in the Notre Dame-SC game this year, the clock went to 0:00 than the replay officials reviewed it and 1 second was put back on the clock and ND ran another play from the 4 yard line. Frustrating yes, groundbreaking no. Well given the fact that officials all over college football have been calling bad calls doesn't surprise me. Atleast the SEC took action when it happened two weeks in a row and suspended them. Well, the one second given to Notre Dame didn't give them a win - although that doesn't make it right. Otherwise there would have been a major outcry from USC fans! But officials can't pick and choose when they are going to review a play and add time to the clock. It can't be done just to help the other team win! If it wouldn't be added in the first quarter, then you can't do it when the clock says 0.0! And that is why I will continue to dispute that ridiculous call!
  3. I was wondering the same thing. Nothing was said about it. But Burkhead wasn't very effective tonight, and it made me wonder why Helu wasn't playing...
  4. Yup, he's a total douche! And they keep replaying his extremely doughebaggery interview over and over on ESPN.

  6. I think after this entire season - including eight fumbles and a 7-9 loss to ISU - that he was expecting this type of performance. Especially considering the defense they were up against.
  7. I saw it too! It looked like he was demanding an explanation for the events that occurred in the last two seconds of the game. A lot of people have said that Bo and TO went and met with the Big 12 officials regarding the last call that put one second on the clock. But who knows cause nonsense is spouted all the time...
  8. Neck injuries? How about broken legs? Yeah, it does cause leg injuries due to one or both legs getting trapped during a tackle. But it also leads to neck and back injuries when a player is jerked quickly to the ground by the collar. Regardless, it causes injuries and is a valid penalty!
  9. You dont deserve to be 13-0 you &^%&(&% lost. The referees handed Texas that win on a silver platter. If Texas had won fare & square I would own up to it & offer Texas my congratulations but they did not win fare & square the referees gave them that win. You dont deserve to be in the national championship has there ever been a close NU loss that you did not think was 'given' by the refs. your post is classless and in poor taste, sounds to me like a Mizzou fan complaining about the 97 Huskers win. have some pride, the game was played on the field and we lost, whining about refs is worthless and the calls are part of the game, you have to deal with that. (if you are under 5 years old, then i apologize and retract my comments) Yes, there have been close losses that I didn't think had anything to do with officiating. For example: ISU. Unfortunately a close game that had nothing to do with officiating and had everything to do with our offense incompetence and poor play calling. If a team wins fair and square then they are deserved their due. ISU received their due... all of the Neb posters credited their coach for turning around the program and keeping them in the game. But I don't think Texas won fair and square, a lot of Neb fans agree, and it appears that Bo does too.
  10. It was a mismatch that i have seen all day, but they didn't exploit it until late, and thank god the receiver dropped it. Yeah to me it looked like he was getting burned over and over. Texas' offense didn't figure it out for awhile, but they did exploit it when they figured it out. Most of the passes were thrown to receivers covered by Prince and he had it locked up!!!!
  11. Suh has had a couple of personal fouls... but none were as cheap as Asante's. But Asante, as far as I can remember, has had more combined penalties than Suh and DB facemask penalties. And agree that Dennard was not playing as capable as he has shown in the past, but he could of been getting burned too. And a horse collar is a justified penalty that can lead to serious neck injuries. It's not legal for a reason!!
  12. Agree! This has always bothered me about rankings. I understand that a team lost, but if it's a close game to a highly touted and ranked team, then said team shouldn't drop in rank. The system is so flawed in so many aspects, it's ridiculous. And the fact that USC was still ranked, and in the top 20, proves that the BCS system and voters are a complete joke!
  13. The PI call infuriated me, but resetting the clock made me angry beyond words. There was no reason to even review the freakin' play and adjust the time clock. When the ref blew the whistle, there was ZERO seconds on the clock. END OF GAME!!! Neb should have won 12-10! And with Colt McCoy talking smack about our O only scoring 12... WTF! There superior offense only scored 13. Obviously I'm bitter at this time, but that was ridiculous officiating that handed the game to Texas!! No way that was a good call and no way should the time clock have been adjusted. The game is done and over now, but at the very least, I hope the refs get the crap fined out of them and an official apology is given!! What a cheap win! EDIT: ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Calling Asante a thug is taking things too far or saying he lost us the game is off base. But there have been several posts about Asante needing to clean things up... and he does. And there sure were a lot of posters agreeing with that! Sure we had a kick go out of bounds, Hagg had a couple of PI calls, and Asante had a couple of personal fouls. The only constant here is that Asante has personal fouls/penalties called all the time. Whether it be his questionable over celebratory jumping when making a big hit against Oklahoma (don't think it was a penalty, but it looked bad), a late and unjustified hit on Reesing, other late hits/out of bound hits, or several horse collar penalties over the last few games - his mistakes have been a major thorn in our D. I know he's trying to make plays to stop the offense from scoring or getting a first down, but the rest of our D is able to do it w/o a reoccurring player racking up a penalty in almost every game... except for Asante. I think he has the best of intentions, but his passion and aggression was bound to bite us in the you know what. And it did, at unfortunately a crucial time. Asante deserves his accolades, but he has had a lot of careless playing. Like was stated in an earlier post... he hurts us as much as he helps us. The rest of the D makes the plays w/o careless penalties. As stated earlier, he didn't lose us the game, but that play sure hurt us in the end. Of course the offensive play calling was terrible, the offense couldn't produce, etc, etc... Same sh*t, different day.
  15. This article means very little to me due to inconclusive stats and differing record keeping from every stadium. Plus, I don't know how they decided to pick the stadiums that turned over there stats, but I feel like that was far from a fool proof method. I feel if they want to publish this type of article, then record keeping needs to be the same from every large and small stadium. Then after that has been done, the numbers will be much clearer in defining "stadium nastiness." And, IMO, any stadium not releasing stats or claiming they don't have them, are probably the nastiest stadiums of all!
  16. I have already stated that during the OU hit I though Asante was over celebratory. But in no way do I believe that he knew he had caused an injury. How could you even claim that when you are purely making an assumption... and we all know the saying behind that! And I don't see you throwing Suh under the bus. Suh has been penalized for late hits as well... his explanation is that once you are in that momentum, it's nearly impossible to stop. The hit, although it was late, was not illegal in the manner that it hit the QB. It was not helmet to helmet and therefore required only the 15 yard penalty that was received. That doesn't make me any less of a Husker fan for feeling this way. You have your opinions, and I have mine. End of story. As far as winning our NC off of "women beaters and career criminals"... Well it's sad that a few bad apples spoils the whole bunch in your memory. There were some less than shining moments from a few, but the rest were a solid group of guys that played respectably. So don't lump them all into the same category. And I know of one "woman beater" but who were the "career criminals"?
  17. To me, it doesn't completely lie in which Tech QB starts. I think overall Sheffield is the better QB, but Potts has his moments too. I think it depends on which overall Tech team decides to show up. I don't think any team is more schizo than TTU at this point. They can be tough and are usually underestimated... which is why I think they give teams problems. I was more worried about TTU than any other team that we have played season. I just knew they would give us a fit for some reason. Although in hindsight the ISU loss was much more mortifying. TTU put up quite the fight against Okie St., but I think OU will be able to pull it out.
  18. It was McNeill, and he took a huge hit. It almost looked like he had his "bell rung." He just looked confused and his eyes didn't look quite right - all I could think was concussion. But who knows? I just hope he's ok.
  19. He wasn't claiming it was a bad call, his point was that without a colossally moronic play by a KU defender we most likely lose. Most likely... Who knows? I would be inclined to agree with this if we hadn't scored another TD. But we did and sealed the game. We could have done that even w/o the penalty that saved our drive. But the "colossally moronic" penalty definitely helped.
  20. I was a closet Mizzou fan this weekend! I really am glad that they beat K-State! I am also glad that USC lost, but when will they drop in the polls like they already should have? Ugh... they did not deserve to be ranked that high. I was upset that Iowa lost though. Personally, I strongly dislike Ohio State, and with all the adversity that Iowa has fought against... well, I was hoping they could pull it out. And I wanted Notre Dame to pull out the upset too. With all the parity, it's hard to see the big programs fall so hard!
  21. One of the announcers during the game said that Watson stated he was leaving his ego at the door... or something to that effect. I think this has been part of the problem. I know he wants to run his WCO the way he wants to do it. But you have to work with the talent that is available. The talent we have offensively are not ready at this point to do what he wants. So getting invaluable insight from TO and utilizing his advice was really needed... as TO knew how to work with the talent that he had. I think this is a step in the right direction and hope to see improvement from his coaching and play calling. Watson making the right changes will make our offense better!!
  22. I would like to see Frost and possibly Crouch doing some QB coaching in our program. I think the different insights that some of the past QB would be invaluable to some of the younger QB.
  23. I don't if it was a taunt at OU or just over celebratory but, regardless, Asante did show some respect after the hit. The late hit, with Reesing, does happen a lot in football. Suh has been penalized for this exact same thing. And he has said that once you are in motion and going for the hit, it's not something you can just stop. He got a fifteen yard penalty, it happens, and lets hope it doesn't happen at crucial game changing times.
