  1. It's still early so the numbers aren't that compelling yet, but according to Sagarin we've played the 69th toughest schedule so far, while Wisconsin's SOS is 148. Last time I checked, there were 120 D1-A teams, so, for what it's worth, there is an ENTIRE DIVISION of college football that has played a tougher schedule than them.
  2. Callahan and Cosgrove wasted 4 years of our time. That was a completely different situation. This is a thread to poke fun at those who are overreacting about the play of the defense so far. You can point out what's happening on the field without douching up the forums, but people have been acting like we're the worst team in the history of college football because of a few games that did not live up to Nebraska's insanely high standards. This is simply not true. You're upset about people overreacting/exaggerating and here you are doing the same. No where on this forum has anyone even hinted we are the worst team in the history of college football. We've mearly pointed out that the defense is below par right now and will be in big trouble against a good offense. I didn't see a half dozen threads created about wyoming shredding our defense. I'm sure somebody thought they would but the vast majority knew the defense was sharp enough to shut down wyoming. We're average right now. But what else should we be talking about? There's a difference between exaggerating and overreacting. I was exaggerating. Most people on this board are overreacting (i.e. 3+ touchdown loss predictions). Nobody said we're the worst team in college football, but that sounds just as ridiculous as saying we're going to lose by 21 points to a team we know nothing about, other than that they can beat up on a bunch of nobodies.
  3. It does feel like there has been something missing from the first four games. I have a strong feeling that Beck is holding much of the playbook back.
  4. Great post. You mean to tell me Wisconsin hasn't beaten the #1 team in the country each week. I never would have realized that from reading the posts around here. Seriously though, I think it will be a close game till the fourth quarter when our O will just were them down. I have watched a few of there games too, and those saying they are slow on D aren't joking. Many of the people on this board clearly have had a heavy dose of ESPN. They seem to think that Wisconsin is an unstoppable force. Wisconsin is sloppy. Like I said, they benefit from playing against inferior athletes. The teams they play aren't fast enough or strong enough to expose Wisconsin's poor play, but Nebraska is, regardless of how "bad" we've played so far.
  5. Wisconsin has had trouble containing mobile QBs. The guys who've watched Wisconsin this year can back me up on this. The QBs they've had trouble with aren't as fast as Taylor and aren't running behind as good of a line as we have either. Wisonsin puts up numbers, but the truth is that they've been bailed out by playing against inferior athletes just as much as we have. Pointing out realistic flaws is not a problem. When you become annoying is when you hold other teams to easier standards than you hold Nebraska to, then use your observations, based on your standards, to determine that we are going to get smashed by 3+ touchdowns. We're playing against Wisconsin, not 1995 Nebraska. We'll be ok.

  7. Wilson and Robinson? Really? Those are your examples of who will light up our secondary? Really?
  8. All of those guys lost so...no. Taylor is 4-0 as a starter this year. Until his shortcomings cost us, I don't believe this amount of criticism is warranted. He's the best we have anyways so complaining isn't going to help.
  9. The referees were unable to work the least complicated piece of equipment on the field. I had always thought field goals were pretty black and white, but a gray area was found.
  10. Since the general consensus of the board is that the Pelinis have forgotten how to coach defense, I've decided to make this thread for the good of the fans and team. Those of you who are all-knowing, superior beings when it comes to football, please post your coaching credentials here. We can then link this thread to Nebraska staff and hopefully we can get someone in the position that knows what they're doing because we clearly need to replace these Pelini clowns.
  11. You're right. We're terrible. We shouldn't even go to Wisconsin next week. All we're doing is wasting our time. You know what? We're so bad, let's not even finish the season. We're just so terrible that we don't even deserve to take the field with D1 teams. There's no reason to live anymore. Seriously, why was this posted?
  12. You think? I don't know. It's too close to call in my opinion. You'd think with all the people on this board, and all the attempts made to simulate black uniforms, someone would have figured out how to take out that extra red in between the shoulder stripes. Who are we, UCLA? (Lol at the Richard Brehaut jersey)
  13. Good post! Wearing a black jersey once = loss of tradition (To some in this thread) But who the f#*k lists Scarlett and Cream as a huge tradition at Nebraska? The first ten things on my list when I think of tradition are (in no particular order): 1. Blackshirts 2. Tunnel Walk 3. The Sellouts 4. Walk-Ons 5. The Retired Jerseys 6. The Heisman Trio 7. Bowl Games 8. The Back-to-Backs (70', 71') and (94', 95') 9. The Decade of Dominance 10. Academic All-Americans I don't see how a black jersey takes any of that away from us. It is what it is, a jersey. Hmmm didn't see many Husker fans saying the same thing when we wore our blac.kout jerseys in the Holiday Bowl. For you it's tradition but for us it's "ghetto"... hmmmm But TBH, those black UW jerseys are awful. Like seriously they should be burned and never spoken of again.
  14. At the end of the first half against Washington, Taylor was throwing very well. The offense went into a high gear and I think he looked more comfortable at that pace. I think that's what Beck was talking about during Spring and Fall camps when he said Taylor was looking more comfortable throwing the ball.
  15. We shouldn't wear the whites because Wisconsin wears all white on the road. They try to jock our look, so we should not try to steal theirs, especially not in their stadium. I like the all whites and I don't think that they're cursed. Don't believe me? Ask Tommie Frazier (2:18), they worked out pretty well for him.
  16. I might be scared except that Wilson is thoroughly unimpressive. His stats looked great against UNLV, Oregon State, and Northern Illinois. His throws are behind receivers on most passes and completely off the mark on several occasions. Of course, as a Nebraska fan I would have no idea what it's like to have an inaccurate QB , but Wilson has yet to do anything to warrant the tsunami of drool that makes its way from Bristol, CT to Madison on a weekly basis. If Wilson had anywhere near the speed and quickness that Martinez has, maybe he would be a legitimate threat, but I get the strong feeling that playing against a real defense for the first time will not be kind to him.
  17. Team mom: "If we shorten 'Mountain' to 'Mtn.' and just put 'WYO' instead of 'WYOMING', we can put your names on the back of the jerseys and still have money for juice boxes!"
  18. 24 is about right. If we make it through our season underrated though, it would be comparable to Auburn this past season, if not a tad tougher.
  19. So now we're accepting post-speculating as fact? Before people were just throwing out random possibilities that they heard from a guy who heard from a guy and now everyone is acting as if the only possible explanation for this situation is deception on the part of NU. I say we wait until the storm settles and then evaluate it once all the details are worked out and everyone has explained their side. I think this is a just a chance for Bo-bashers to get off and few people are looking at the situation and trying to figure out what actually, instead of why what they think, happened.
  20. ....I have his number. Like seriously. Met him at a game where he was recruiting Devon Blackmon. Gave me a business card and said if I ever needed anything to let him know. I mean, obviously I wont need him for anything as I didn't play football any of the last three years nor did I play this year, so my chances of being a D1 recruit are low. Basically it was, "Hey kid, here's a souvenir."
  21. Better question: Worst case scenario, could they be any more incompetent than our current OC?
  22. Sound system should be beefed. Last time I was there was 2004, but it sounds like things haven't changed much since. As soon as the first few notes came out the entire crowd went so nuts it was impossible to hear it. I guess that's what you get with 85,000 people all experiencing the best day of their life (first place tie with any other Husker games).
