  1. I totally agree and I remember Ron Franklin the announcer for that game really going on and on about Asante's celebration in a not so pleasant way. Next thing you know there is a shot of Asante with his hands in the air clapping for the OU player as he got up and was being helped to sideline. It was a big hit and guys get excited about that. There was no true malice intended from Asante at all. He had a pretty good hit in the Arizona game too if I remember correctly. Class guy and it was great to see him emerge this year and have the season that he did.
  2. Defensively- Texas game. Hands down. Suh throwing Colt McCoy five feet towards the sideline like a rag doll was the highlight of the year. Gomes's pick. I loved how we shut Texas's offense the f down. They had a couple of plays but we essentially owned them. Offensively- Arizona
  3. I'm also excited to see what Eric Martin can do next season and am anxious to see if Jared Crick can get even better than he was this season. Scary thought huh?!! I also want to see if Baker Steinkuhler can even remotely resemble his brother on the d line and just like with Crick can Pierre Allen who I thought had a great season this year make his presence felt even more so next season. Also will we continue using Rex Burkhead in the wildcat next season? (I would love if we did so) I hope we do so I really hope we can see more of this next year. I think Burkhead's load and role is going to increase drastically next year and I am excited about this.
  4. I'll give Lee the benefit of the doubt as far as his injury. I'm sure that had to effect him some. I'm thinking (more like hoping) that Lee is just one of those qb's who took a little longer to actually start truly feeling comfortable at the quarterback position in terms of live game experience as a starter. Freshman or no I am just not impressed with Cody Green as a passer so far. He looks fine running the ball and I like how he was running through some guys in the Arizona game. He's a tough runner. If Zac Lee can come back from his injury o.k. I see him as our starter next year and (this a big maybe here) he's finally gotten comfortable with being a starting quarterback and will finally play up to his potential with a solid years game experience under his belt and with no lingering injuries for him to deal with next season either. Just speculation but I hope this is the case.
  5. Bad heart maybe? Weird news. I'm no Florida fan by any means but honestly it's kind of sad news. Wonder the direction that program is going to take now.
  6. I don't see him getting redshirted at this stage of his career especially with Cody Green being only a sophomore next season and being the quarterback with the most potential in the eyes of the coaches. I just hope we get it together at quarterback and someone (I don't care who!) steps up and gives the great defense we should have coming back next year a bit of a break. Our offense is going to be scrutinized more than ever next season.
  7. Well LTW before making the switch from linebacker to quarterback before the season started hadn't played quarterback since high school. Cody Green has been doing nothing but playing quarterback in a similar system taboot his entire career so for him he essentially had no break from playing the position. It makes perfect sense that LTW would be last on the list of quarterbacks to even come close to learning the system. I think people are forgetting this and rushing to judgment and assuming that he just wasn't 'as good' as the two guys before him. LTW basically has 1 season of being a quarterback in Nebraska's system under his belt. One season. I'm not saying he should be our quarterback but I will say that after this season as far as our quarterback is concerned I want to see what some other guys can do, him included.
  8. I see what your saying. My point is simply this, Zac Lee and Cody Green based on how they 'practiced' got the lions share of time this year at quarterback. There wasn't much room for anyone else. However Joe Ganz is a perfect example of how a talanted player who may not have practiced (apparently) as well as the guy before him can indeed come in and perform better than the guy above him on the depth chart when things really matter i/e when playing in an actual game. Nebraska's offense was absolutely pathetic this year. It's time to shake things up a bit and start looking at some other guys and by that I mean giving guys like Washington or whomever actual playing time to see what they can do because if anyone's offense needs a major shot in the arm right now it is ours.
  9. I'm just playing devil's advocate here but Joe Ganz didn't see the field at all until Keller got hurt and the rest is history. After dealing with Zac Lee all season long and Cody Green looking every bit of the freshman that he was I'd love to see what Washington could do in real game conditions. Certain players respond differently when it comes to practicing and actually playing.
  10. I'm still now sure how you came up with Carl Nicks as an all decade offensive lineman. Matt Slauson was a two time All Big 12 offensive lineman during his career. Second team All Big 12 in 2007 and first team All Big 12 his senior year. If not Slauson, what about Dave Volk? Also I thought Prince Amukamara had a great year but was his one good season worthy of being an all decade pick for defensive back? DeJuan Groce was a 3 year starter, ranks #4 all time for passes broken up (he had 4 interceptions his junior year alone) and he was an All American not to mention being one of the best punt returners in Nebraska football history.
  11. You have five down lineman with a tight end as well as two running backs and no fullback. That is one interesting offense.
  12. Curtis Cotton Mark Schellen Mark Traynowicz Danny Noonan Keith Jones Russ Hochstein Jim Skow
  13. Aaron Taylor Christian Peter Doug DuBose Steve Taylor
  14. Junior Miller Andra Franklin (RIP) Also LeRoy Etienne - LB - 1985-86-87-88 Dana Brinson - WB/KR 1985-1988 Just to name a few. Who are some of your all time favorites?
  15. Don't know if anyone caught the match tonight but Texas and Penn St went down to the wire in the 5th and final set. Three national championships in a row the Nittany Lions. Hodge played great (21 kills) for Penn St. but to me the standout was Alyssa D'Errico who had a personal record 22 digs some of which were flat out amazing. Incredible volleyball game tonight.
  16. Even though he is a Freshman I just hope Green's passing this year isn't an indication of things to come. He had the nice touchdown throw against Baylor but besides that just not very impressive throwing the ball. He came in with a lot of hype. I'm not sold on him yet. I guess we'll find out. I'd like to see what Martinez brings to the table but just like everyone else he is a big question mark too. It's going to be real interesting to see who our quarterback is next year to say the very least.
  17. ^^ LOL, well first off I didn't say that but are you saying if we replayed the game again with Crouch we would somehow win?!!! Crouch passed for 62 yards in that game and when we needed a passing game...he went 5-15. (with 1 interception) self'd.
  18. That's all well and good, but here in the real world we ran the option and Eric Crouch won the Heisman Trophy. If he isn't your QB than I am going to have trouble taking anything you say seriously, ever. PFFT... You and many people have a love affair with Eric Crouch. If that's your thing great. We all have different opinions. I would not be running the option offense and having said that Eric Crouch would NOT be my quarterback. By a long shot. Personally I would have taken a win over Miami in the 2001 National championship game over a run happy/heisman winning quarterback any day of the week. To each his own.
  19. I definitely wouldn't be running the option.
  20. Over a Heisman winner and a Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year? Interesting. Yep. Definitely was not as big a Crouch fan as many were. The only way I'd want him under center is if we ran the wildcat a few plays.
  21. I like your list. I thought about Hagg also somewhere on offense. Whoever said 'Z. Lee - Waterboy' hit the nail on the head! Good stuff.
