  1. Predictions? What's one thing Miami has to step their game up in to win this game? From what you know of Nebraska, does our defense have the capabilities to limit Duke Johnson?
  2. I'd like some turnovers, too, and I think they'll come once our dline is going in full gear. A few fumbles by the QB or a rushed throw are usually the most common cause for turnovers. That being said, I don't think Nebraska forces a whole lot. Gerry and Cooper are both downhill players, interceptions aren't at the forefront of their minds. Also, with us playing man so much, I don't see Josh Mitchell being able to steal any "up-in-the-air" passes. He's a great corner, just small. Slightly worrisome, but in my opinion, this is the best I've seen the secondary play in a while. The only guy I had gripes with (in the secondary) was Kalu. Guy is super aggressive and doesn't whiff, but he's lost on D right now. He's only a freshman with time to develop, but right now he reminds me of Courtney Osborne.
  3. "If you take away the good things, there bad things."
  4. Watching the game, I would agree. They were cut blocking every time on Gregory and some of the other guys.... And on pass pro no less. It works as a surprise every once and a while, but they were doing it to mess with his head.
  5. I think it would be better this way because of the timing. Sure, it would have been nice to put McNeese away with ease, but I would say, with Miami upcoming, the energy the Huskers get coming off a good win is more important. Not to mention, in my opinion Fresno would have their hands full with McNeese.
  6. Honestly, this is all great to hear. In the game thread I saw a few people saying "TAKE HIM OUT" and things of that nature. I'm happy to see people recognize he's not really apart of our offensive struggles.
  7. I don't post often on hear but I noticed something that bothered me. I didn't get to watch most of the game (it was the lady's birthday) so I only got bits and pieces of what my friend was messaging. He told me about Cotton's penalties and it was confirmed (overwhelmingly) by the folks on this board. I decided this morning with my free time to finally sit and watch the game. I gotta say, besides the penalties, Cotton played better than any other lineman. He absolutely mauls linebackers in space. He and Lewis form a wall on pass protection. He's definately the best pulling lineman we have, and you could make an argument that he's the best overall lineman we have. I'm only mentioning this because he was getting A LOT of hate on here. He was screwing up badly at the end, but without him, we might not have been in that position anyways.
  8. I can't agree with this at all. Regardless of whether or not Nebraska wins, MSU is a good team. They sport one of, if not THE, best defenses in the nation. I haven't seen a more disciplined group yet, especially one this opportunistic. Running the ball will be difficult for our battered line, and it will test (not break) Armstrong's patience and control in both the passing and option game. They're offense has gotten better, as well. I mean, the did put up more points against Michigan than we did. I honestly think Nebraska can win this game, but I think everyone is experiencing a little hubris after two great wins. Nothing wrong with that, just don't think we should take away from what State has done this year.
  9. Haven't we been using the 3 man front with Gregory roaming all year?
  10. This is a Pelini play that opposing coaches have caught on to. It used to work a few years ago. Sometimes it isn't necessarily that the DE is man on the running back, it's that he has to follow the running back if he goes out for a pass. Which defensive end it is depends on which side the running back is on. I did notice that sometimes when Moss was covering, there was still a deep safety. Pelini likes keeping his guys back there, but IMO, if you're blitzing, you're taking a risk anyways. This isn't just a Pelini thing...we used to do this in high school on certain defensive packages...DE mans the RB out of the backfield, safety drops down for run support. I know, but Cooper stayed back deep on a few of those plays. I'm saying I'd prefer if he'd blitz or let Moss free to go after the QB while Cooper mans the guy out of the backfield.

  12. Yea I was gonna mention that he probably should have been fired anyways.
  13. I mean it's nice to see a lot of Huskers on that list, but Ciante not being on there is a joke. One of the best man cover corners and the guy will tackle. Probably the case of him not getting his name called a lot because no one throws to him.
  14. You like Cunningham but say Johnson belongs in basketball?? How dare you! In all seriousness though, I love that Johnson at least has genuine excitement, where as it seem most try to refrain from any of the sort. Cunningham is always good for a laugh. Whenever he's on, my dad and I always refer to Martinez's "deep thigh bruise" against Mizzou. He keeps going on about his thigh in the replay when you clearly see his ankle facing the sky.
  15. Dude. Who do you want as quarterback? Does Peyton Manning have any eligibility left? The wind is ridiculous out there just leave it man.
  16. I would hope so. It seems we struggle when we lose or identity and conviction. I don't really care what we do as long as we commit. I'd definitely agree with the Big Ten, but I honestly don't believe anyone comes close to USC.
  17. Oh Ciante Evans, where have you gone?
  18. Nothing serious, but he did send out this tweet. The only reason I even bring it up is because of NU's recent history of turning wideouts and running backs into dbs. Plus, I remember hearing he was not happy in the crowded backfield. It's probably nothing more than a thoughtless tweet, just thought it was interesting. Edit: Sorry, didn't know he had a private twitter. He said, "Wonder wat would life as a DB would be like"
  19. I didn't get to watch the game. How'd he do?
