  11. That's not what I was getting at. He's a man of integrity and would do his job as long as he's holding the position. But you are probably less likely to get things like what were said on the audio tape, and "if they want to fire me, fire me" if he's comfortable with where he's at. I'm not excusing the behavior, because ultimately he's responsible for his actions but to say that, if it's true, he doesn't have support (and that is speculation to anyone but Harvey and Bo) he should be all sunshine and roses is a little out there as well.
  12. Who's blaming Bo's shortcomings in Harvey? Have you read the thread or what in the world are you talking about. I refuse to even read the rest of your comment past that sentence. Jesus man give it a read, it's pretty reasonable. People are saying that Harvey doesn't have his full support behind Bo. I don't think anyone is saying that Bo is losing because Harvey isn't supporting him. You can't deny that you would be more productive knowing that your boss has your back, than to be constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if he's just looking for the right chance to throw you out.
  13. Who is blaming Bo's short comings on Harvey? I'm just calling a spade a spade. TO can be credited for the expansion, the bball hire, Devaney renovation, getting the arena done (Perlmem probably deserves equal credit there). Harvey has ran the University overall pretty well, but he's had issues handling the athletic side of it; Callahan/Pederson, publicly reprimanding Bo, speaking out when he doesn't need to, things like that (some are beginning to argue Echorst, but I think the jury is still out). I don't think anyone is really a Bo apologist these days. Maybe one or two people here could be remotely labeled as that, but the vast majority are of the sh#t or get off the pot crowd now. I myself like Bo and everything he's done with this team (academics, few criminal issues, doing things the right way, etc.) but at the same time this year is pretty much it. I really wish Bo could stay, but if he can't achieve something tangible this year I think it might be time to part ways. Which really pains me because I don't think he's done anything to deserve that, it's just the way things have become in this day and age.
  14. Most of the improvements you listed could equally if not almost entirely be chalked up to TO.
  15. I didn't make any excuses. We lost the Minnesota game and the Iowa game, we won the Northwestern and Wyoming games. That's all I have to say about that.
  16. Fresno State, Miami, Iowa, MSU, and Wisconsin are all possible if not probable losses. lololololololol.... what' so funny about that? were you laughing after we almost lost to Wyoming and Northwestern or how bout Minnesota and Iowa losses? Every team knows they can't take Northwestern for granted, and while Minnesota is a poor loss they're not the Minnesota everyone knew for the past decade. Wyoming is what it is, we didn't lose. We had a young team and an injured QB.
  17. That maybe true, but from an outsider's perspective I'd venture to say he's par for the course and hasn't done anything to damage the University as a whole. He seems to be leading it successfully into the future actually. He may be leading the academic side of it just fine but you know just as well as I do that academics AREN'T what people associate Nebraska with and probably never will. And you know as well as I do that Athletics are not solely what a Chancellor should be evaluated on.

  19. I don't know if Maryland is proof, they just had to have the money if they were joining the conference or they would exist. The one way I did see him bungling it it waiting till, I think 2017, to get full revenue. 5 years should have been enough, an extra year with full revenue would have been pretty nice for the AD.
  20. Can you or someone else claiming this explain why you believe this to be true? Sure, Perlman's drawn ire from fans for some questionable hires inside the athletic department, but there's far more to his job than that. Under Perlman's watch, enrollment for the university has gone up and the boosters (from what I've heard) are pretty supportive of him. He typically only gets media attention for his interactions with the athletic department, but he's the chancellor. There's far more to his job than athletics. The AAU debacle is one knock that I can think of, it's debatable whether it's really that big of a deal though. I think they also dialed back they're enrollment goals for the next few years. Again not a huge deal. Harvey's no spring chicken, so there's that. Not academically related but he does serve as the chairman of the BCS oversight committee, and he was a part of the problem with the bowl systems more than he was the solution. I've personally never cared for him, he just comes off as too pompous. That being said other than typical student complaints of ridiculous tuition rates (which is actually comparatively low) and general dislike of authoritarian figures I can't really see a reason to fire him. He has done far more positive things for the University than Negatives, if anything his only negatives center around the athletic department. Like Enhance said enrollment is up under his watch. They are constructing Innovation Campus, which could be huge for UNL. The CB3 center in east stadium is complete and is the first venture of it's kind. Colleges such as the Physics and Business departments have or are being upgraded. New recreational facilities and student housing are being constructed. And all this while seeming to have the college's state funding cut annually.
  21. Are you thinking of the IROC series (International Race of Champions)? They closed up shop about 6 years ago. *edit* Ebly beat me to it.
  22. So there's this thing called the NFL combine going on.
