  1. I'm not sure. Hubble, for instance, doesn't actually take color pictures, but has filters that only allow certain wavelengths of light through. By analyzing and combining data from different wavelengths, and assigning colors to wavelengths, color images are produced. Cassini's cameras work in a similar fashion. That said, this method does allow them to produce "accurate" colors as they believe you'd see if you were actually there viewing it. Right I knew the gist of how it was done. I've always wonder if the images were totally accurate though, and not over saturated or what have you. I wish they were able to take a "true" picture instead of putting composites together from the different spectrum.
  2. What Okie said, I was being sarcastic. The great Matt Millen said he was clearly concussed during the game. Then when he went back in Matty douche and Tess were dumbfounded as to why he as back so fast. He was holding his gut from the second he got up and motioning to come off.
  3. Anybody know if these images are still colored in or are we are seeing the real colors these days? I'm too lazy/busy to look it up right now. I know the Nebula's and such are, but I didn't know if images from newer satellites were or not.
  4. Missed LB tackles are a nemesis of a Pelini defense.....but good tackling in Pelini's system will put up All-American numbers......the Barrett Ruuds, Demorrio Williams and LaVonte Davids. If that is not in place, we can struggle, like last season. That's why it looks like Bando or Rose may be given an opportunity. It wasn't that he missed it, it was that he was literally held in the hole. Clean play by WYO and we stop it for a 1 yard gain at most. I didn't really care too much about the missed calls, but that was a big one.
  5. That's not really what I was getting at. Yeah they're a problem but if you address the breakdowns associated with those plays then we improve quite a bit is basically what I'm trying to say. That's true, but based on the last few years (and Saturday night) it's not likely to be addressed. I can see that argument. I just have some hope left for this season with all these guys being so young. It's definitely wearing thin compared to years past but I'm still holding out.
  6. BTW anyone care to know what actually happened on the long run by the RB? Santos had the play snuffed out only to have the guard essentially arm tackle him in the hole. I kept watching the play over and over and couldn't figure out how the hell he missed the tackle but that's what it was.

  8. he's clearly concussed And he was back in the game literally two plays later. That's not enough time to even run 1/2 of the SCAT3. He didn't pass? I thought he just SCAT3d all over the field.
  9. LOL they're called outliers LOL! I'm not all about throwing statistics out there without background.
  10. Nebraska did not plan on Wyoming running the ball as much as they did. Which nobody would if you have watched the Wyoming offense at all in the last couple years. You could see for much of the first quarter the defense was not respecting the run what so ever and Wyoming did a great job of getting matchups they wanted when they wanted to run the ball. It came down to Wyoming's gameplan more than Nebraska's ability to stop the run. In the second half they stuffed a lot more runs and only allowed minimal gains except maybe a couple plays. Pretty much every team can run on us. Bo's scheme is ripe to be run on, that's why we frequently get the ball shoved down our throats by teams that aren't even good at running the ball. It's not really gameplan. A team sees it's very easy to run on us so they continue to do so. Totally false. It was sloppy line play and poor LB/DB play. In the first quarter VV was rushing up the field without regard to where the ball carrier was going and the LBs and DBs were just tacking poor angles on their flow, or not keeping leverage on their blockers. VV and the others settled more as the game went on. If you take away the longs runs from Smith and their running back, I think they were both crappy plays on our part, they only average about 4.5ypc, not that great but better the the 7.3 listed for the game. Like I said in another thread the QB runs don't bother me so much because they're are going to happen and we've proven in the past that unless he's a freak athlete we'll be fine.
  11. I figured you did. I think the guys we have now are capable of making coverage sacks like Suh and company did so well, but our DBs have to give them that extra second. We were pretty close a number of times it's was just that split second, or Smith fitting a ball into tight coverage which you really can't defend. We did start bringing corners/safeties off the edge and they were making plays in the backfield, and later in the game we sent Bando and some other guys up the middle as well. But we probably should have been hitting him in the mouth from the get go.
  12. Actually that's not true. They were pretty basic but they were there, just tackles crossing and such. We also had Gregory in stand up a lot and had Ankrah lined up inside as well.
  13. Ugh!!! Don't worry about it kid, everybody will have your back and the fan base will love you for it.
  14. Doubt it. He took the crown of the helmet straight into his shoulder, it's probably just a deep bruise. Anybody who's ever horsed around and been punched in the shoulder just right knows how bad that can feel. Plus he wasn't showing any signs up until that play and he delivered quite a few blows before that.
  15. You kiss your mother with that mouth?

  17. This 3 game argument it ridiculous. Last year is last year, these are young guys they're only going to get better. Like I said before this season is probably going to feel a lot like the 09 offense watching this defense. There are going to be headaches and there are going to be huge games it's all part of the learning process.
  18. A trap play! that was a previous NU favorite Yeah, that's basically what's happening haha! I hope we bust the trap out again this year, I think we ran it a couple times. Once against USM I believe.
  19. He didn't want his practices giving the ex-players cancer? He was just looking out for them after all. Or vice versa?
  20. But doesn't only having 4 guys at the initial point of attack hinder the ability to stop the run when they're being blocked by 5 guys? Maybe I'm over simplifying things, but just seems like that is the root of the problem... I think you over simplified it. Stopping the run is really the linebacker's responsibility. In reality the linemen are essentially there to eat space and keep guys of the linebackers. If they can get off the block and make a tackle perfect, but the backers are supposed to fit to the gaps left open and make the play. Which is why when you have a tackle rush up field past the ball you're in deep doo doo. Now you have a huge hole and a free blocker. Obviously there's more going on than we are going to know, but that's the basics of what they're doing.
