  1. Their second TD told me more. I say that because this didn't start out as a dominating win, but a possible shootout. Get the TD, but fail on the try. Then Memphis marches down and scores on a drive UCF tackled poorly on. They kept trying to hit the snot out of em and flew by the ball carrier, barely getting arm tackles. Eventually UCF marches down, but has to settle for a FG, then Memphis marches down for what looks like the go ahead TD in a potential barnburner....turnover...then that big run. At that point UCF had taken their punch and returned an uppercut.
  2. I admit, I have no idea what the OP is talking about, but it has to be at least a sorta good sign that we're talking about this game on Saturday, rather than 2 days before the game like the last few game weeks have gone. After today's events, this is a massive BIG TEN West division game.
  3. Everyone can get speed. It's speed with size that is hard to recruit. Props to UCF tonight. They don't have BIG10 talent, but no one told them. They hustled, they fought, and they made some very big plays in no small part because they were put into position to make big plays. That team looks like they are having a lot of fun.
  4. It was a domination. They had Ferguson seeing ghosts.
  5. The problem I have with that is he didn't do anything different this game, he just got better results. Pass pro was better, play calling allowed him to get rid of the ball, lack of coverage allowed for open receivers, but he did what he's been doing. What I think are his real biggest problems, pocket awareness and keeping his feet alive, didn't change. Confidence should come from doing things properly, not results. If you're not doing things properly, but getting the desired results, it creates a false feedback loop that can be hard to change.
  6. These were two very terrible offenses that at no point in time did I ever feel could generate much threat. I think Diaco felt the same way. He threw a lot out there the past two weeks. I thought he used this as an opportunity to test things and put things on film. You can't decide who you play, but you can decide how you utilize that time.
  7. Wisconsin didn't play well and still beat a pretty decent team. Those games happen over the course of a season. They must play much better to run the table. The Big Ten has shown so far that there are two really, really bad teams but most everyone else is at least a capable football team.
  8. We have to play Northwestern, too. Supposedly the next easiest game, they may be the best team we'd have played to date.
  9. We even talked about that. Had our bases covered this week, we did.
  10. That's where these steak stats are so silly, it starts becoming some big thing that it really isn't because it's so manicured and contextual. I'm not picking on this particular one, it's any of these kind of soundbite stats that are so popular these days. They tend to present a lot more meaning than they really have. What did I say in the 'learning' thread....."As Expected". This being the internet and people having attention spans that rival squirrels, I doubt too many people actually thought about that comment. If you did, you'd know that "As Expected" is as much of what we are wanting from the bygone days as win totals or conference titles or any of that other stuff. You didn't celebrate beating a team like the late 80s Jayhawks or Wildcats. You sat down that morning, read your paper, got ready for the game and you knew it would go "As Expected".
  11. We have played consecutive teams that ranked this low in total offense in that span; 2015 had Minnesota and Northwestern both finishing below 100 that year in that stat. I'm pretty sure that's not a lone example, I just happen to remember that. Rutgers and Illinois are special teams, though. The only remaining game either has any real chance of winning is against the other. We have to go way, way back to remember two conference teams that were both that bad.
  12. I didn't see much of a jump between games 1/2 and 3, but a massive jump between 3 and 4. So certainly from beginning to now, it's been pretty big.
  13. What do you want me to say, we talked about it all before the game started. The game went as expected. Next game,
  14. Finally, a blowout. Let's get to the real games now. Cya then.
  15. Stop here is good. Get the ball to start second half.
