  1. i love USF...the color scheme is awesome...gotta love grothe
  2. if this is legit, then the big 10 has done an awesome job of compiling themselves a beautiful conference. If it is that good, i am happy that we would be apart of it.
  3. hahahahahahaha......hahaha....ha ha....hmmmmm
  4. Yawn. So what's your point? Are you just trolling over here trying to cause problems? Have a nice day. the point... some folks like to think NU is "back". Relevent again nationally. I on the other hand, believe "back" means winning the b12, finishing a season or maybe even several in the top ten, beating a few top ten teams maybe even ON THE ROAD.... and maybe even do it in more than one season! you can argue that is trolling if you want. opinions vary. I admit, I had my doubts about Bo initially, I thought NU was "settling" for less. I was a Paul Johnson advocate (I still like his option offense). I think Bo CAN return NU to "relevance". But it hasn't happened yet. And it ain't gonna happen overnight. Maybe some set the bar a little lower than I do. i don't think it has happened overnight...his first season we competed...last year we were an arms length away from great success...we are simply a pebble toss away from being really, really good again
  5. i am gonna laugh when teams find out that crick can be just as disruptive as suh was...not as often, but hopefully just enough to make some people scared
  6. yeah...well is idaho, western kentucky, and south dakota state put up any better of defensive numbers??? Are we not gonna be in the exact same north? Don't we play an a&m team that returns most of the problems it had on defense last year? Our offense will only be better, right? I don't see how people can still absolutely think we will suck when the defenses we will get to be initiated with won't do well.
  7. i think as husker fans we have forgotten the great pinkle-factor...the great reason that all the success of missouri does nothing but go down the drain...haha
  8. Second that. Did anyone see the post where someone said that Nebraska got very lucky in some games last year? I don't mind if people say we won't be a good team, but they should at least know what they're talking about. NU had probably the worst luck out of any top 25 team other than OU. On another note, I really am beginning to relish everyone thinking that Suh was our entire defense. Really. proving that wrong will be fun to watch. Another thing I love is how love to talk about how Asante and O'Hanlon were overrated, but then when they want to talk about what we've lost on D, they call O'Hanlon and Asante things like outstanding and very good. Oh well the only thing i can think of that we got "lucky" on was prince forces the fumble on meier when they could have gone in for the score...otherwise we really were about as unlucky as it gets...then oklahoma puts that all into focus with there gone forever luck of the lost leprechaun from there back pocket...oh yeah, jebus tebow...gotta love a reference to someone i hate and the simpsons...classic
  9. just cuz you have been around the block a couple times doesn't mean your not trolling...i use to spend time on the espn boards just to laugh at the buffalo troll who spend all his time saying all of nebraska is worthless...he was around along time :spooners
  10. Beat me too it, I was screaming at the TV. Personally I'm not sure which I hate more, Texas or Mack Brown. the both suck...
  11. so pretty much everyone is denying everything...and nobody wants to admit to anything?
  12. arrogant much? Arrogant, no. Tired of these hawkeye homers talking..DEFINITELY. I don't know if you browse other boards but there are a bunch of lame ass hawkeye fans talking about how NU is scared to play them. I do recall a certain Iowa team not renewing anymore games with us because we murdered them, and heck, even 1 this decade(and just in case it's beyond you, that's 10 years). In 2000 we only slightly murdered them 42-13, they got a whopping 6 points more than the score from 99, so they did show improvement. Now that they are what 4th or 5th overall in the Big 10+1 they are something special? I don't buy it for one second and will laugh at each and everyone of those dbag fans. You can call it arrogant, I call it speaking my mind. And that is why i hate living with them
  13. i will say i don't like the big ten...but if invited...i guess we got to go
  14. just watch their game against oklahoma last year...after that i couldn't believe they were even thought of as a big 12 dark horse
  15. first offense in the nfl...dont think he has any real problems with the commish
  16. and don't underestimate the front four's affect of pressuring the qb to cause those interceptions. zac lee was under no pressure on the last one...he simple was trying to get us down the field in a hurry
  17. but really the last two interceptions come from forced play at the end of a game we should have already been winning...i think three turnovers we had were actually legit
  18. knowledge is also knowing people...it takes good football knowledge to know plays, but players are another thing that goes into the equation...not only your own teams players but also players on other teams
  19. we all know the best quarterback on the team is rex burkhead.
  20. First of all my cousin was so nice as to get married on a bye week 2 years ago and for that, we that you dearly. You must know who Nebraska plays this week, next week, and the following week at all times. MAN LAW! You must give a high five to someone you don't know at least once while at a Nebraska game. MAN LAW! You must respectfully heckle a fan of the visiting team if there is one sitting next to you on game day. MAN LAW! And no matter what anybody tells you, Notre Dame sucks. MAN LAW!
  21. I'll give you my perspective on the above bullet points that you've raised one-by-one. -- Here is our Texas recruiting breakdown: 2002 (21 Commits) 5* = 1 (JUCO Player) 3* = 1 2003 (19 Commits) 3* = 4 2* = 2 2004 (20 Commits) 3* = 3 2005 (32 Commits) 3* = 3 2006 (22 Commits) 3* = 1 2007 (27 Commits) 4* = 1 3* = 5 2* = 1 2008 (28 Commits) 4* = 1 3* = 7 2* = 1 2009 (20 Commits) 4* = 3 3* = 5 2010 (21 Commits) 4* = 1 (JUCO Player) 3* = 4 Avg. Texas recruits per year since 2002 = 5 players Historically speaking, back when T.O. was HC during the Big 8 era, we were able to pull a few Texas kids every year, yet Texas wasn't in our conference. Turner Gill being one of the most famous Texas recruits among many others who have come to Nebraska during the Big 8 era, so it's not like we can't continue to pull in a few Texas kids, regardless of our conference affiliation. Furthermore, the numbers I provided above doesn't reflect that some of those players didn't pan out or were kicked off the team for misconduct and a couple didn't even make it on campus. Here are just a few names to refresh your memory: Chris Williams, Quentin Castille, David Whitmore < All 4* players. This isn't to say that recruiting Texas is insignificant, but I think people get the notion that Texas is the end all, be all in our team make-up, when that just isn't the case. We're merely plucking whatever is leftover after Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and the numerous other Texas schools get who they want. And the majority of 4* & 5* players from Texas usually stay in Texas or bolt for the SEC or Pac-10 because of the weather among other things. So that means we're sorting through 3* and even 2* players at that point who just want a chance to play somewhere. Case in point, we'll be fine if we move to the Big 10. It'll just be like the old days when T.O. was leading us through the Big 8 era. We still pulled in a few Texas kids yearly and won a lot of games in the process. It's also important to stress that winning football games consistently will help us pull in recruits from Texas, regardless what conference we're in. Last but not least, there are 43 Texas kids playing football in the Big 10 right now. -- As for whatever happens to Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. is a moot point. Whether they go to the SEC or not. We can't worry about what other schools are doing. It's every man for themselves at this point. It's inevitable that the future of college football is going to experience a seismic shift in conference realignment. The Big 12 isn't financially viable on its own in comparison to the Big 10, SEC and Pac-10 where the biggest media markets reside, hence more $ to be made. Texas is the only exception in this case, and they've already talked about creating their own Longhorn TV Network. What good does that do for the rest of the Big 12? If Texas really wanted to, they could go independent and still make a lot of $. That's a scary thought isn't it? One day they could abandon the Big 12 by going the Notre Dame route. That wouldn't bode well for the rest of the Big 12. Which is why Nebraska is being pro-active in this case by being open to what the Big 10 might offer us. Even if those 4 teams head to the SEC, so what?! The SEC is still considered "KING" even if we're in the Big 12. All we need to worry about is ourselves. Nebraska just needs to focus on playing good football and winning games. We're still in the early stages of the Bo Pelini era. You can bet that he's doing everything he can to bring us back to national prominence. He knows what it takes to get us there, it's just a matter of time. -- The weaker schedule argument holds no weight. Ever since the BCS came into existence, at least two Big 10 teams have played in BCS bowl games (Orange, Fiesta, Rose, Sugar) every year. Last year, the Big 12 had only one team playing in a BCS bowl. Not the case with the Big 10. Furthermore, the Big 10 has made more appearances in BCS bowls than any other conference. Big 10 = 21 appearances SEC = 19 appearances Big 12 = 17 appearances Pac-10 = 14 appearances Big East = 12 appearances ACC = 12 appearances -- Again, we can't worry about what everyone else will think if we leave the Big 12. Weaker schedule? Like I pointed out above, the Big 10 has made more BCS bowl game appearances than any other conference and have a higher winning percentage than the Big 12 in BCS bowl games. -- The NU/OU rivalry went out the window the moment the Big 12 came into existence. At the time the Big 12 was forming, OU was asked if they'd like to continue to play NU yearly, but declined because they weren't a perennial powerhouse in the mid-90's, so it didn't seem like a good idea at the time. Playing Texas in the Red River rivalry was more important to them than playing NU because it's a border rivalry game. Border rivalries are all the rage in college football. Naturally Iowa would be our new rival in such a case if we head to the Big 10. Colorado has been our border rival for awhile now, but that looks to be coming to an end as well. So there you have it. That's my two cents on the whole thing. I understand people not wanting to change, but it's inevitable. The positives outweigh the negatives. And this is only from an athletic standpoint. We haven't even considered what it'd do for our academics standing. Have you ever heard of the CIC? Research is where it's at and the Big 10 ranks #1 from an academic standpoint because of all the research opportunities that they're privy to. Research = $ and lots of it. Nebraska would benefit greatly and increase their overall academic profile immensely by moving to the Big 10. great work...texas is an important recruiting ground these days just because of the sheer number of people, but it isn't everything...i hate the big 10, but to be apart of it might not completely suck
  22. I remember being at that game and never once thinking that we were gonna lose. My buddy and I only wondered if we could kick another field goal to cover the spread. I say that there is a combined 15% chance of a non mizzou or Nebraska team winning the north.
  23. hate to push at a bubbled already burst...we aint going to sdsu...it is a one and done deal
  24. nice picture i see red people...that is why bo pelini defense's are scary no matter who we lose...try telling that to others in missouri though
