  1. No offense to Moore, but if he's the backup, our OL is having problems. EVERY lineman should redshirt unless the team really needs them. JMHO. I would tend to agree with you RedDenver. But after watching this film and realizing that Tyler is a junior playing in huge Florida HS class I would say that it is not out of the question to say he could see some time as a true freshman. He is only going to get better. It will be interesting to see how he develops over the summer and throughout his senior year. I'am also excited to see what Dobson can do with Tyler, with our strength and conditiong program he could turn into a monster. It looks like he has the frame to carry some more muscle.
  2. Too early to call Scout moronic for those ratings. Heard, David, and Carnes might not pan out . . . in which case Rivals will be the recruiting service that made the wrong prediction. We'll see. Shut up Carlfense you know nothing. They are all going to be All-Americans. just kidding man I hope you're right. Actually I hope that both services were wrong and they should have been rated as 5 stars. jake cotton=6
  3. 13 miles from my front porch.
  4. FWIW a 6.0 rating is a five star rating not a four star. Not trying to be mean or anything, just informing. I have an RSS subscription but I never post or pay attention to star rating. Does that mean JT is .1 away from a 6.0? Also, for whoever was surprised JT is the #1 QB, the Rivals guys (Talman, Sean C.), have been pretty adamant that where you commit has nothing to do with player rankings. Of course, it can't hurt your star rating to have 30+ offers, but from what I remember Rex had a ton and only 3 stars. Then again, this is all personal speculation anyway, so one shouldn't care too much. Rex was a four star. LINK The mo'rons at scout had him as a three star. The idiots at scout also had lavonte as a 3 , Braylon Heard as a 3 (34th best running back in the nation, rivals had him at 5th best), Brion Carnes as a 3 .
  5. That is awesome Nexus! Nothing wrong with spreadin the scarlet and cream around the country! Nexus=recruting prodigy
  6. http://www.omaha.com/article/20100318/BIGRED/703189745/-1#taking-cue-from-suh-allen-wants-leadership-role One of my favorite players, and I hope Pierre has a monster year!
  7. FWIW a 6.0 rating is a five star rating not a four star. Not trying to be mean or anything, just informing. FWIW your wrong. FWIW I would have been better off not filling out a March Madness bracket this year....just saying. FWIW-I am pumped that we already have Jamal and we have a great chance to get Green. This has a chance to be one of the best classes of Alltime!!! Agreed, not only are we going after some of the top recruits in the nation.....but they are interested in what nebraska has to offer. All of that National exposure is paying off with the big-time recruits.
  8. I hate to bring Missouri up but I could see watson using him like Missouri used Chase Coffman and Martin Rucker. Since we are moving towards a spread attack it would make sense.
  9. Jeremy Crabtree said awhile ago on Big Red Wrapup that Jamal is a 5 athlete but is a 4 quarterback. Either way he is an absolute playmaker with the ball in his hands. Cant wait to see Jamal tearin up Big 12 defenses!
  10. The thing that Dejon Has over this kid is size, Dejon is 6'1 while andrew is 5'10. I could see this kid being a lock down corner while Dejon plays for of a safety/corner hybird.
  11. http://rivals.yahoo.com/texas/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-2366 Looks like Jamal Turner might be a 5.9 And Aaron green will either be a 6.0 or a
  12. I agree, but the coaches have said that Hagg is just too valuable at nickel to move. . On a side note, putting Corey Cooper in next to P.J. Smith might be the best scenario. The way I see it, Cooper's going to be a star one day. With the extreme amount of talent and experience and we'll have at corner, nickel, and dime, pressure on the safeties will be minimal. Maybe Cooper gets a year of experience this year when expectations are low, and he'd be able to develop. Then a few years down the road, him and P.J. could be beastly. Thoughts? I would like to see Corey Cooper get on the field and contribute, even if its on special teams. But I also would like to see him redshirt to be able to get a grasp of the defense mentally. PJ Smith will be a beast, and for years to come the Smith Cooper duo will strike fear into recievers across the Big 12.
  13. Based on returning starters, we have 100% of our CB's, 66% of our LB's, 50% of the D-Line, 0% of our safeties. Our returning safeties had 15 tackles a piece last year, a majority on special teams. I would agree on paper, our safeties are the weak link of experience, but due to talent, as mentioned at the end of the section, they could become a strength. Even last year after the VT game safety play was pointed out constantly as the D's weakness, but by the end of the year they were solid good point sir.
  14. That is really impressive , hopefully all of them make it up. I would also like to see Jeremiah Rasco and some of the Florida kids make the trip.
  15. I wish ESPN would have kept Tim Griffin, he certainly knew his stuff. But I agree on RB being strong, but safety isnt the weakest at this point. With PJ Smith, Corey Cooper, Cassidy, Thenarse I think safety will be fine.
  16. kid is an absolute monster, very quick first step, quick hands, alot of power. I hope he's N before it is all said and done!
  17. Speed is good to a certain extent, I will take a Jerry Rice over a Percy harvin type anyday of the week. Rice wasnt the fastest wideout in the game, but he might have been the smartest, and ran the best routes. You could also throw Tim Brown, Steve Largent, Marvin Harrsion, and wes welker into that fold. Pretty good speed (not blazing fast by any means) but excellent route running, football smarts, and a quick burst off the line.
  18. I think hes pretty set on One of the Arizona schools, or Texas. But there is still alot of OL talent out there for Nebraska: Bobby Hart, Jacob Welter, Zach Sterup (depending on performances in camp, and evaluations), Derek Farniok, Cyrus Hobbi and some others. So even if we dont get CW, we will still have a great OL class.
  19. Did he really just say Mzzou could win the Big 12 north? If the blackshirts get any sort of pressure on Gabbert and raattle him their offense is done. They had no north and south running attack, and wont this year. Their defense is going to be average at best again, maybe worse. with Spoon gone that leaves a huge hole.
  20. Russell stated in the article that he would for sure come up for the spring game, but he doesn't know as of right now. What's the only thing holding him back? He needs a ride. i will rent a a stretch hummer limo and go pick him up if thats the case.
  21. New rivals teaser suggests that Quincy Russell might make it to the spring game. I hope he does, he looks like a beast!
  22. If Kevin makes it to the Spring Game, and has a good time he is ours.
  23. According to 1620 LaMichael was just sentenced to 10 days in jail for misdamenor harassment that occured outside his aprtment with his girlfriend or whoever she is. Kugler also stated that Chip Kelly has been reported as saying the University of Oregon will wait for Masolis sentence before handing down any punishments for Masoli's and James crimes. I'm kind of glad he didn't come here....big time talent, big time ego. I wish the kid the best in his future, whatever it may be.
  24. Just heard on 1620, that LaMichael James was sentenced to 10 days in Jail for his crime, and they are still waiting on Masoli's sentence. Chip Kelly was also reported syaing that the University of Oregon will wait and see what punishments are handed down to James, and Masoli. I say kick them off the team, they represent the University. Oregon gave them an oppurtunity for a free education, use of top notch facilities and these two decided to steal and "harass" his girlfriend or wahtever she was. Make an example (Quentin Castille).
