  1. Wow. The game was amazing. I went there, and that was my second Husker game ever, (technically 3rd but I don't remember the 1st one), and it was so much more fun to watch than the South Dakota State one 2 weeks ago that I went to. There was so much trash talk from the K state fans before the game, it was awesome. Some old kstate ladie chased down a young girl and said she would kick her ass, and there was tons of other stuff going on. This was the best husker experience I've ever had BY FAR!!! It was so awesome. I was sitting in section 10B, and was one of the people up there that sang happy birthday to Bill Snyder in the 4th quarter. Man I love husker football, the fans are so awesome, it was a total blast. As for the game, I don't really feel like going through an entire analysis right now, but Tmagic was electric, that 80 yd run was so sick to watch. Cody Green made me nervous when he came in, and it seems like every time he comes in the game someone fumbles, I don't know why he's higher than Zac Lee on the depth chart. Our defense looked pretty average on multiple drives, it seemed like they just moved the ball at will on us, but somehow we came up when it counted, which is all that mattered. Anyways, it was an incredibly fun game, and I'm really enjoying my first year as a husker. GO BIG RED!!!
  2. He has one sack. And that huge blow up on the goal line. He almost stripped Cutler, so close.
  3. Missing the game right now, bad way to start my first full season as a husker fan. Is Tmart looking as good as his stats show? Or is it just dump off passes. Either way, I'm excited about him. GBR!!!
  4. I think he should do it, but it wouldn't be on the cover of this years madden, it would have to be the next year. Theres never been a rookie on the cover of madden, and there shouldn't be.
  5. KVB is getting up there in years, I think its a great pickup for the Lions, but he won't be a huge threat for very long.
  6. ahhhh man its going to be hard for me to listen to anything you have to say now that I know that you're a puker fan. I'll have to put NFL rivalries aside I guess, though its hard because I bleed purple and gold. Ya ya we have no championships, I've heard it all before. You guys haven't won one in 10+ years and I doubt you have anyone from that team left, so how about something a little more relevant than history (which you guys obviously have a great one, really), like last year
  7. I guess I didn't phrase it very well, I just meant how excited are you for the possibility of doing good this season. I know most are pumped for it to start, but expectation wise, how is it?
  8. I think it has to be Zac Lee. I had no confidence when I saw Cody Green last year, maybe he needs some time in the offense, but it takes a lot more than raw talent to lead a football team. I think Lee is our best option at QB, but I wouldn't mind seeing Green and Martinez rotated in once in awhile to change the pace.
  9. I had to vote 10, since this is my first real season and I can't help but get excited. So I'm getting from a lot of people that the expectations aren't much higher than usual but the general excitement is there just because its a new season, not because we think we will get a National Championship or anything... right?
  10. With this being my first full season "with" the Huskers, I was just wondering what the general consensus is among Husker fans. I know our defense (am I allowed to call it "our defense" yet?) is supposed to be better this year than last year which will be scary, but how about our offense? Is the QB situation going to have any balance? Last year it was sketchy at best imho. Supposedly Zac Lee was injured? IDK what Green's excuse is. I know the RB situation should be better, with burkhead having another year and same with helu. So basically I'm just wondering how high expectations are this year.
  11. Nice to know theres a few of us. I might have to start a discussion or two in the NFL section.
  12. My sentiments exactly. Nothing against Sam Bradford, because I do think he is a very good quarterback, but people are making WAAAAY too much of this drill. There was no physical pressure, no NFL caliber defense, and no 90,000 fans screaming in his ear. The entire drill was nothing but playing pass and catch. Now, there are obviously throws that are more difficult to make then others, even in practice. However, the love-fest for his performance is sickening. Let's see how he does against an NFL defense before we crown him the awesome of awesome. Exactly. I think Bradford can be a great QB if he avoids injury but people shouldn't be gushing over him this much.
  13. Just out of curiosity, and maybe you said it already, but what brought you to Husker nation? Did you follow any other team before this or have you just never been fully interested in football? I went over it vaguely in the Introduce yourself thread (I think thats what its called), but it was my dad that brought me to the huskers. He grew up in minnesota and nebraska, and we moved to lincoln in '99. I've always been a diehard Vikings fan, but never really got into college football, it just didn't interest me as much as the NFL because there weren't any blockbuster trades, drafts, too hard to keep up with players leaving every year etc. I started to get interested in the huskers last year, and the first game I really wanted them to win was against Texas, and I followed that game on my cell phones sports app. When I saw we lost I was actually sad about it, like I am when the Vikings lose, and then I started following them a little more till the end of the season and the first full game I watched was the bowl game. So it was a mixture of my dad, and just desire to have at least ONE of my teams win a championship. I'm trying to get into more sports, like MLB, but I'm starting off with college football, and at least the Huskers give me one reason to be proud to be in nebraska.
  14. Jamarcus Russell also had a GREAT pro day. Anyone can complete passes when no ones rushing at you.
  15. I think they say that its because McCoy fits the bucs scheme better than suh. I think the Lions should take him, Rams need a qb(although I wish they would take him), but if I were the bucs I would take Suh. How can you take any defensive player over him?
  16. Man that is a sweet sig. Anyway I can get someone to make one like that for me? Or do I have to get some respect around here first, because I love the vikings, and slowly getting into the huskers.
  17. Easily Vick. I don't think either is scum, they both made mistakes, though vicks is much worse in my eyes. Sure Tiger cheated on his wife, but the only reason that was such a big deal is because everyone loved him. Yah cheatings obviously bad, but why is that our business. Celebritys cheat all the time, obviously that doesn't justify it, but it happens, we just think its so much worse because its our beloved Tiger.
  18. Haha, well thanks for the welcome and tips everyone. I read up on some stuff, mostly game of the century though, and watched some vids. I think the best way for me to learn is just wait for the season to start and pay close attention in the games, I should have all the players down in a couple games. But I'm actually really excited for this season to get under way, I miss football.
  19. Holy crap this guy is incredible. Man I wish the rams would draft him... Don't wanna play him twice a year, I might even get his Jersey.
  20. Is it bad that the first video, about our tradition gets me all choked up everytime I watch it? I doubt it. It gave me chills when I watched it, makes me want to follow the huskers a lot more.
  21. let's see... I know about ne-ou. Although I don't hate some of the ppl that come out of there (Adrian peterson and Phil loadholt). I know pelini is awesome especially compared to Callahan. Not really sure bout game of the century Tommie Frazier or the walk on program. I'll be on here pretty often trying to learn all I can about the huskers and preparing for the upcoming season.
  22. Basically the only players I know are Helu, Burkhead, Crick, Henery, Zac Lee, Cody Green, and now the Martinez kid. I was just wondering if anyone would be willing to just give me a quick rundown of some important things I should know about the Huskers in general, roster, coaching etc., in order to be able to know what people are talking about on this forum.
  23. I don't really know much about the situation, but it sounds like this kid could be great. I know from limited viewing last year that Cody Green and Zac Lee didn't seem to be anything too special, and if this guy can compete, thats only going to push everyone to do better. Coming from a Vikings fan, I know what its like to have a bad QB situation.
