  1. http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2013/04/21255/monday-skull-session For more on Michigan being Michigan, read the above link. "Missing out on Rick Pitino and Les Miles because you were playing squash and on a boat? That's the most Michigan thing ever."
  2. shame on you for not pulling for the Big 10 When did we turn into the SEC? Also, didn't you make a thread about OSU losing? I think this quote today from elevenwarriors.com sums it up. "It's Monday. The men's basketball national championship game is tonight and Louisville is all that stands in the way of Michigan Men reaching a level of smugness not see since the years following the school's split football title in 1997. So, go Cards."
  3. It isn't like Nebraska has to play OSU every single game. It MIGHT be one game a year and anything can happening in one game. You must be fun to hang out with.
  4. You get stuck? Agree. Posters here are understandably wary of power shifts within the conference, but the B1G is NOT the Big IX. The culture is completely different. Texas took every opportunity to consolidate power and resources at the expense of the rest of the conference. Ohio State and Michigan may be football juggernauts, but they share equal space at the table with Indiana and Minnesota. Also the recruiting advantage of West vs East is less dramatic than Texas vs Cold Snowy North. Ohio is a recruiting destination, but so is Chicago. The Big IX was doomed from the start as two culturally disparate conferences merged. Keep in mind, also that the Old Big 8 Teams were actually much stronger than the South in the beginning of the "marriage". Also think of the travel advantages within this now larger conference. It only makes sense to play the closest teams more frequently. Wisconsin makes more sense playing Nebraska/Minnesota/Iowa every year. Those are their regional rivals. Also, now we won't ever have to see Michigan/Ohio State as a back-to-back rematch in the Title Game. I like it. I like it a lot. I think it is best having Michigan and OSU in the same division. I don't think it is good to have a chance playing that game back to back. Also, Sparty is still Sparty and Penn State isn't the power it once was.

    B1G to D-III?

The big10 couldn't hang with the OAC in D3.
  6. I would say it is common for small simple apps but not ones made by a application/gaming studio.
  7. I am sure there this can get into a gray area very fast. I wonder if the athletic department made him offer it for free since his name is tied to it? The IT/software guy in me hopes he finds a way to make a ton of money if he was part of a team that wrote it or if did it all himself.
  8. I am really surprised that ESPN hasn't posted anything about this. I thought they loved to get up in OSU's junk. Maybe that was only when Tressel was coaching.
  9. It looks that way but 2 other football players were in the report.
  10. http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2013/03/20458/report-three-ohio-state-football-players-linked-to-alleged-rape I don't care who they are, if true, kick them off the team.
  11. This is good for everyone but MSU. Typical Sparty.
  12. the FCS teams serve as tune up before the season. We call that "Purdue." Really? Judging from some of the past years, ND can barely beat them.
  13. Did I miss something? They made the ballot, correct? Why is everyone congratulating this? Weren't they on the last few ballots? The fact that guys like Tommie Frazier and Orlando Pace aren't already in the college football hof is a joke.
  14. This is the reason why Ohio State has added Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and to a lesser extent Cincinnati, Boston College, TCU, and North Carolina to their future schedules. The selection committee will look at the games you played out of conference. Playing Buffalo, San Diego State, California, and Florida A&M with the less than stellar Big 10 schedule won't turn many heads.
  15. the FCS teams serve as tune up before the season. Your season starts game 1. If your backups aren't good enough to see the field during a game, they need more work in practice or they are not up to the challenge. Scheduling a FCS team is weak.
  16. I have a hard time taking anyone serious that rather have their team play a FCS team than a FBS team. You want respect? You need to play and beat the best.
  17. You might want to do a little research If I remember correctly they were pretty good in the 80's with Pat Dye as thier coach. But a traditional powerhouse? No, I don't think they finished in the top ten consistantly for any period of time. I think they hold the record for most years on probation though. I was curios. So looked it up. LINK They have a better program than I thought. 12th most wins of any program. The MNC ins 2010, plus Cam's Heisman. Three Heismans in total, and two MNCs. And a buttload of sanctions over the years. A solid fit in the SEC. So, yeah; Auburn is a traditional power. Any program can fall on hard times, sometimes self-inflicted, but that doesn't mean it has any correlation to conference strength. You could transfer last years Auburn team to any BCS conference and they weren't going to win many games. Once a selection committee is in place for the playoff system, a win vs a FCS team isn't going to look as good as a close loss to a top tier team on the road. Look at the basketball selection committee, SOS counts a lot.
  18. No, it shows a program that was shortsighted and didn't build on their championship season. But they did beat ULM (OT), New Mexico State, Alabama A&M last year. Do you guys really want to see games vs FCS schools? I know I don't.
  19. Its a message board. people post things on message boards. Im pretty sure thats the purpose. Thanks for clearing that up.
  20. Nice article. The list mostly includes the outliers. Teams like the Whorns who enjoy the best recruiting in the nation, but then suck on the field. And teams like Wisconsin--went to Pasadena three years in a row, but have never had a top 25 recruiting class. But what does that say about Wisconsin or even the B1G? The fact that Wisconsin had 6 loses last year shouldn't be celebrated. The same goes for losing 3 Rose Bowls in a row.
  21. or number of cars recieved. Always funny coming from a Michigan fan. Since we are digging into the past, does the name Ed Martin ring a bell? Something about glass houses......
  22. Maybe if he visited FLA 6x instead of 5x, he would have gotten a 5th star. In the end it comes does to coaching and a bit of luck. Great coaches can do a lot with kids that have great athletic ability, want to learn, and work hard. Then you have some kids that have great physical tools but can't grasp the college game.
  23. What... the..... F&(#....... Funny, that would be a huge jump for a football program to make D3 to D1. They did finish the year ranked #12 in D3. University of Chicago has only D3 programs. Chicago has no athletic ties to the B1G and I am guess that John Hopkins Univestity would be a joke.
