  1. 1996 Sting's The Crow entrance was real compelling. It kind of linked wrestling with what was in vogue in pop culture at the time.
  2. I don't think Erickson will be on that list after this season- If they work out some minor kinks, I could see ASU playing for the inaugural PAC12 title. The "Our QBs suck and we cam't have NFL players with 0/0 gpa" kink? Whatever keeps him employed until 10/5/13 is fine, then he goes out to pasture.
  3. Terrible for eOSU. If he'd went to UMich, RRod would still be employed. If he went to Penn St, Joe Pa might still watch the games.
  4. I agree. This thread is just too pleasant. What bowl games does OSU have to forfeit?
  5. To answer the OP it is probably not good for you to be joining a conference that just got decapitated. The perception of the conference as weak will override your successes. You will have to fend off a slew of They couldn't get it done in the Big12 trolls.
  6. The Big East don't even have that kind of muscle anymore. We cut a deal with the Texaglias where we can play non-football in their territory and still keep our independence.
  7. Because you need to know; Notre Dame has two of the Bigten's slots on ABC/ESPN in primetime. Thankfully zero on the big network.
  8. It was impressive but more so if you took over a Penn St or Columbus. The ND fanbase is spread nationwide and not drawn NW Indiana. Columbus has an entire state full of people who never attended clamoring for tickets. Also I don't think the ushers in other schools are banning their own fans for the crime of taunting the other team.
  9. We've been doing neutral sites for years now. And I don't believe we've lost any recruiting battles in Dublin Ireland.
  10. Weis could crack this list being paid by both Florida and ND for a few years.
  11. Preface by saying 1-9 are all better than South Bend. 1. Evanston if it counts as Chicago. It shouldn't since they're a ways apart. 2. Minny. Got enough sports. 3. Ann Arbor. I lived there a year. Nice enough, but would get boring. * 4. Urbana-Champaign. Some nice houses in a sea of corn. 5. Bloomington. Supringly nice. 6. Lincoln. Never been but sounds like Champaign. * 7. Iowas City: Never been. Heard nothing. 8. State College. Isolated. * * 9. Madison. They're kinda funny. 10. East Lansing: The entire state is getting emptied of people. I don't know how they recruit anyone up there. * * * * * * * 11. West Lafayette. Zzzzzzz. "City" is a stretch. 12. Columbus. Biased by every Dbag I met in Ohio from there. They are insane, as you will find out. I'd go back to Toledo or Cincy, but never to here.
  12. Well if you want to be a clown. Do our schools not teach civics anymore? Holder still works for the executive branch last time I checked. Not that it matters because since when is college sports a federal issue?
  13. Where in the Constitution does it say the Executive branch has the power to dictate to college football? Probably right under where it says they can sue Arizona for enforcing a law that the Feds refuse to do.
  14. We have one more thing in common. Now stay alert in case there are any other associations you really don't need.
  15. When Colin K. took it to South Bend theys averaged 5.3 yards per rush and 5.7 per pass, for zero points. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=292480087 And the season got wierder from there.
  16. Switzer is the most obvious one I can think of, his last 4 years OU finished 3, 3, 3, 14 and went 42-6. Maybe not quite his peak, but Tressel isn't at his peak either. There must've been others, just can't think of them right now. thanks I didn't know about Switzer's departure. In PC's case, I was thinking of how the bottom fell out from under the team in late 2009.
  17. I look at it this way...OSU was going to be top dog in the conference unless we beat them consistently over several years. Well, here is our chance to grab the top spot early. Keep our nose clean and make sure we beat these guys as the bad press follows them next few seasons. If we rip off a few wins and a couple conference championships, OSU would be knocked down a notch. The same thing just happened as Oregon has now dethroned USC in the Pac 12. We can become the top program in the Big 10 now and earlier than probably most imagined. Nah. They'll hold you down at least at first. They wouldn't allow an outsider to come in and take over. Has any coach ever been forced out at this peak?
  18. Belichek is the draft genius. I suppose Mallet is retrade value. But yeah, I wanted more front 7 help and a WR for the Pats.
  19. But he'll accept another pay raise every time a major program has a vacancy.
  20. It may rephrase the question, but the South has more good teams.
  21. At least you will be safe wearing red in Wisc. In Columbus you'd better add a flak jacket.
  22. Was that some traditional triple option out of the I that you are bringing back?
  23. I liked knowing that the artist patterned Sparky after Walt Disney; for firing him.
