  1. well that sucks. Cause his busiest time of the year would distract him during bowl season. Thanks a lot Obama
  2. The Nebraska media isn't getting behind anyone that I've heard of.
  3. That would like up with reports I seen in twitter. I can't remember who. But someone reported yesterday they were watching the planes. A private jet owned by a major Nebraska donor landed yesterday afternoon in Columbus Ohio. Dont know how credible the person is however
  4. You do know that Bowden is 85 years old don't you? Just what we need a coach who could die on the side line on any given Saturday. T_O_B I know he was up there in age. I'm not saying he's targeted at all, or even want him here. Which is why I said high unlikely option. I only mentioned him cause he would fit the type of criteria as Jim Tressel. Plus he is good friends with Tom Osborne, so would have a tie back to Nebraska as well. The only other coaches that are not coaching right now are in media jobs. Any contact with them about interest would of hit the news.
  5. I don't believe that it is a MUST for an AD to seek permission. I think it is a courtesy I agree it's not a must. But it's not something ad's normally skip or avoid when hiring a coach. With Eichorst new to being a AD and only at his second school. I don't see him skipping that formality.
  6. The more I look into this. The more I hear that no information is being leaked anywhere. Tells me it has to be someone that is not currently coaching. Cause if Eichorst is targeting someone at a school. He would need to speak with that schools AD first to get permission. That information would be leaked out into the news. Such as Florida going after the CSU coach. Now if i'm right in that then I'd say the odds are it's Tressel. But also another high unlikely option, but would be a good hire is Bobby Bowden. Both of them would want to redeem themselves and show they can still get it done. Both have pretty much dissapeared since being fired. Plus both can be interviewed and hired without permission from someone else. Therefore allowing the whole process to be quiet and secretive like we have seen.
  7. Ok i've been listening to the radio, reading huskerboard and following people on twitter and facebook. Per all of the results and opinions Eichorst is looking for a few things. 1. Head coaching experience 2. Big name guy 3. Supposedly coached this last weekend. Based on this i'm surprised the obvious name hasn't come out yet thats Lane Kiffen, he fits all of those. please don't shoot me.
  8. Preachers daughter in her moms van, while little sister slept in the seat in front of us. Parked near the front of her mothers church in Greenwood, with people walking by
  9. I use to think Tim was just stubborn and wanted to win his way. Refused to listen to our opinions about using the I formation, give the ball to Ameer more, use TE's. When he would use them. They seemed to work well but would go away from them back to what he likes. After the game Saturday I was listening to 93.7 the ticket. A caller stated he use to think Tim was stubborn as well. But is starting to think Tim is coaching to win. But is calling plays to show his offense works more so as a interview for head coaching jobs. If that is what Tim is doing then great. I support it, not that I think he needs to go. But I support anyone working hard to advance their career. But it shouldn't come at the expense of our players. Which seems to be what is happening on the field. I agree Purdue is becoming a better team. Which is great for the Big 10. But didn't need a complex scheme to beat them. Hopefully Tim learned that on Saturday and wont make the mistake again against Wisconsin.
  10. Lol at least your dad seen how we won. When Berringer threw the interception in the 4th. My dad got so pissed he stomped out of the living room to go play mario brothers. As Schlesinger scored I yelled and he came running back in. To this day he still has no idea how we won the game.
  11. maybe this is just a mind game Bo is playing. Let Miami think they will always have short yardage after punts. Or always go for it on 4th downs.
  12. because I have to much time on my hands. I have looked at stats for the conferences as a whole, to determine how bad the big 10 is. It's not as bad as it appears. I looked at over all win/loss records, win/loss records out of conference and games against fcs opponents. Granted this only through 3 weeks of the season. But the stats show that we not as bad as the media thinks. yea we have the worse win/loss record of the power 5. But our ooc opponents win/loss is the second best out out of the power 5. With us having the smallest percentage of our ooc games scheduled with FCS schools of the power 5. So yea as a conference we don't appear to be doing to well. But were not the big dumpster fire that people see us as. As for suggestions. I say schedule no FCS schools replace them with power 5 coferences first or then go to other confences for those that can't be filled. Also play more night games, get our schools in the primetime with some key games. 13. I googled it. What I found was that it was the Aztec mascot that he chased up into the stands. I agree I bet the SEC is dirty as hell. Theres no way money wasn't exchanged in the Cam Newton deal. I'm willing to bed that the SEC is acting like home the Southwest Conference did. Almost all teams if not all of them cheating and paying players. Mainly due to egos of boosters with to much money. Sad thing is with how popular the SEC is. I doubt we see anything coming from the NCAA on sanctions about them. The worst part, for me at least, is living in Chattanooga, right in the middle of SEC country. Everyone here is either a Bama, Tennessee, Georgia or, in the last 4 years, Auburn fan. lol I feel the pain. I was born in Mobile Alabama. I do like watching their games especially the iron bowl. Most of my family from my moms side is still in the Alabama area, with a few in Texas. So I hear about the SEC mainly Alabama and Auburn the most. The only time they are united during football talk. Is when I blurt out how corrupted or over rated the SEC is.

  15. I had stayed over at a friends the night before drinking and playing games. Woke up to my pager going off about an attack on U.S. Soil. I hobbled up 2 flights of stairs as I was in the basement, with a broken leg. To tell my buddies on the 2nd floor of what was going on. Then had to go back down to the basement to watch it on tv. Thats about all we could do that day was watch the news.
  16. Welcome to the board. I agree some of the thug references were earned. Honestly I hated how Miami was at that time. But when I watch the 30 for 30 now about Miami. Makes me miss those days of college football. Not cause we were good, but football seemed to be more fun then. Players could celebrate and let loose a bit without fear of turning the field yellow with penalties. Even though I hated them then for their antics. Watching those older films had to be fun playing college football at that time for Miami. I seen an interview with Dwayne Johnson. He said he once chased a mascot I think USC's into the stands cause he was on their sidelines messing with Miami. That would of been awesome to see.
  17. Sad deal to hear what happened in Omaha. The story I'm being told by a few people. Is that supposedly the cops entered the building on both sides. The suspect was in the middle. Apparently heard a shot and caused the officers to shoot. Which lead to the sound man being hit as well. Now to my knowledge that info isn't coming from any eye witnesses. So take it with a grain of salt.
  18. After yall tear it down. Will you be kind and drop it off at my house. I live just up the street on 14th street. I have a great spot in my garage to hang it on a wall lol.
  19. I've been around sprint car racing for years. I've sat in the stands with my dad wondering why the drivers did what they did and why they didn't change their line. Just like a lot of us yell at our tv's on Saturdays when a quarter back doesn't throw to a wide open receiver that we all seen. It goes with out saying we have a different point of view then them. We get to see things differently and more clearly then they get to. Also we don't have the added pressures of making of possible life altering decisions in a split second. As some of pointed out you can not see out the ride side of the sprint car because of the wing. Also with the style of seat the drivers sit it can either help or hinder your peripheral vision more so then others. With the front of the wing being angled down in front of you and the hood coming up so high. The driver has around a 2 foot gap if not less to see through straight ahead of him. The vision is so narrow that you can't see your front wing. I've been to quite a few tracks over the years. Everyone i've been to it's been communicated and understood between track officials, drivers and safety workers. That drivers are not to get out of their car unless it's life threatening or they flipped their car. Either case would cause for an immediate red and all vehicles except for safety vehicles would stop immediately. A crash like what Kevin had would of only pulled out a yellow flag which is why the cars were still moving. There for he should of never gotten out of that car. Now we all know some will not follow the rules and will do it anyway and put the life in danger. As for Tony hitting the gas and kicking the rear out. That is how the car is designed and set up. It's how they are able to turn the car through the corners. During cautions drivers do this a lot to keep their tires clean for the best grip they can. Also so they clean out the fuel in their motors. Due to the fuel system while under caution the motor can get to much fuel to it and when you take the green it'll bog down and not run right till the fuel is cleaned out. Gassing it like Tony did takes care of both issues. all of this combined with the fact that Kevin was wearing a black fire suit and helmet, on a dark brown dirt track at night with very limited visibility. Plus cars infront of him gassing it and maybe kicking mud up onto Tonys visor. Leads me to believe Tony didn't see him till it was way to late and tried to get the car to turn left. Or didn't see him at all. This is an unfortunate incident that all sides share the blame. Kevin shouldn't of gotten out of his car, Tony should of been more cautious where he was cleaning out the fuel and tires. The safety crews should of been there faster to prevent him from walking down the track into oncoming traffic. Seeing things like this makes me very proud of the safety crew we have at Eagle Raceway. When there is an incident they are there before drivers even have a chance to get out of the cars. They spread out around the track just for that reason. Which allows them to be there fast to make sure they are ok and prevent things like what happen to Kevin from happening. I've also had a chance to meet Tony 2 years ago when he ran with us out at Eagle before a race on Sunday in Kansas. What you see on tv is completely different then what you see in person away from the cameras. He was very nice, joking and great to be around. Was complimenting fellow drivers and picking on the officials, just having a good time. He races in Nascar for the money. Does the dirt track racing cause he loves it. That night he was at Eagle he was there till nearly 2 am signing autographs and talking with us, knowing he had to be at Nascar meetings at 8 am. He was even there past his own crew. They left by 1 am to head back to where they are head quartered out of.
  20. I havn't had a chance to try that yet. I wasn't home long enough to try that. I should be able to tonight.
  21. This started today for me. I use the new content feature daily to keep up with current topics. Today it'll only show 1- 4 current topics if any. If I log out and click new content it'll show 2 pages of topics. Log back in and it'll show none. I've tried this on 2 browsers firefox and internet explorer. Both have the same issues. Has anyone experienced this before? Or have any ideas how to fix the problem?
  22. I bet the blue hairs had a stroke that year lol
  23. U.S. Soccer has an office in Chicago and a training facility in California, so they'd probably stick the trophy in a glass case at one of those two places after it made the rounds from bar to bar, with players affectionately rubbing their balls on it. But really, we should fuse the trophy to the top of the Statue of Liberty, to say to the world: THAT'S RIGHT. WE OWN SOCCER NOW. We've co-opted all of your food and all of your music. And now we're taking soccer, the one thing of yours that you never thought we could have or even want. SUCK IT. We shouldn't even give it back for the next Cup (like the Stanley Cup, there's only one trophy, and it gets passed from champ to champ). Just keep it and dare them to come take it. Say the United States were to win the World Cup. Where would we put the trophy? I would also fuel the world's ire further by having the trophy sell out and do ads for Wonderful Pistachios, Bud Light Apple-AHHH-Rita, and Dr. Pepper. Really degrade the trophy… smelt it down and fashion into a Lombardi Trophy and etch USA CHAMPIONS OF KICKY FOOTBALL on it. http://theconcourse.deadspin.com/why-tim-duncan-will-never-be-loved-like-michael-jordan-1595388824 since it's soccer. My guess it would be placed in a pawn shop somewhere
  24. lol the smell of the alcohol and dirt being blown in the face. That is all i'm missing from the videos to be complete.
  25. I think the last time the outlaws was at eagle was like 5 or 6 years ago. The owner now will only have them if someone else fronts the bill and does all of the promoting. Every year eagle lost money as it cost a lot to be on their schedule. Plus with admission being $40+ and only averaging 15 cars. Doesn't make it the draw it use to. I'm out there every Saturday taking video and photos. Video is only of my brothers but I try to catch the wrecks as well. The website i've made for them is http://www.weilerracing.com
