  1. https://twitter.com/Manuel2Allen/status/816877241388830720 Keith Williams retweeted this. In Allen's twitter profile he has #wideouts. I'd think we have a decent shot here.
  2. 22-23 has been the number. There have been rumblings that coaches will oversign by 3 if we get late adds from our top guys. Will that put NU at or near the 85 scholarship number? Riley has said 22 pretty consistently for a couple months but that doesn't seem to include any over-signing. There has been speculation by media guys that it's kind of a ploy to play the "filling-up" card but that was before we lost a couple guys. I was wondering if it was kind of that but more along the lines of we're shooting for 22 but that way we'll have a couple spots for the guys who aren't announcing until NSD. I have us at 63 scholarships currently on campus. That would be 22 open spots for this class, like Riley said. But we can actually sign up to 25. Both those numbers would go up for anyone else who might transfer or whatever. I would think we'd find out about that by this time next week after classes start. Also might be a couple guys who might not return for their fifth year (Hannon, Johnson, Taylor) but I'm not sure about the timing on those guys. I was thinking the same three guys may not play next year, and man would that make it a tiny senior class. Half of this year's.
  3. If it's PJ Fleck hired, he may just pull the offer anyways... http://usatodayhss.com/2013/new-coach-no-scholarship-im-sorry-we-dont-want-you-is-first-thing-indy-area-recruit-told
  4. I really don't know what's going to happen and if I had to place a bet on what I think might happen, I wouldn't bet on N. But it doesn't mean I'm willing to say N can't happen. You were all Darnay to NU a while back. Something in particular change your mind?
  5. No I got that. I just don't get it.
  6. Coming from across the pond I believe it's "Rumour" I don't get the reference either way. I just hope your hashtag is right.
  7. Who is oregon poaching? Calvin is not committed anywhere. They offer a lot of the same guys that we have. It should be expected to get in these battle when you recruit the left Coast. Those teams see us having success in California and they offer and try to sell them the chance to play in the pac 12 Maybe it's just me, but after following recruiting for several years I've heard other people here mention similar feelings this year. Two years ago it was Kentucky. Last year was Arizona State. This year it seems to be Oregon. Poaching may be a bad word - it seems like these schools come in late out of nowhere, and just start offering everyone we are seriously in on. Almost enough to make you think a coincidence might not be too practical. What I pull from this is an upward trend in programs where we're recruiting the same guys... meaning we are getting in on better talent. Last year we lost a couple late to Clemson and Louisville, who both had better seasons than ASU and Kentucky. What's happening sucks, but at least we aren't settling on guys and shooting higher.
  8. I don't think he was referring to the fans. More likely the fact that 2 of the last 3 coaches that were fired had records like that.
  9. It just seemed like there was an awful lot of new WRs being offered. Thought maybe we were missing on Lewis and Calvin. A little more at ease now.All 6'3 or larger. We want a big bodied WRHadn't noticed that. thx.

  11. I'd been getting a little worried with all the WR offers recently, but now makes sense seeing Alston left the program a couple weeks ago.
  12. Or cant compete with OSU when Penn State and Michigan beat them (yes i think Michigan was hosed) and Northwestern and Wisconsin pushed them to the end. I think this is the key. All that summer recruiting momentum left when the team's momentum left. We went back to being an ordinary place in a recruits mind.
  13. Would be shocked if Holmes was playing others. The way KJ made KJJ commit and stick, and how close they are, KJ and Holmes's dad would have put a stop to that.
  14. Only have 3 OL committed. These two would be great. Either move someone to guard or, maybe someone would jump ship with.
  15. These guys are choosing to leave because they were all beat out by a true freshman and want a chance to start somewhere. If you think Saban is booting these guys so they're left with a true freshman as the only QB on a scholly for a championship run you're delusional.
  16. This has been the most exciting week to watch Nebraska recruiting since the lead up to Cally's huge class.
  17. If the number 3 team of all time lost a game... just saying...
  18. I know people occasionally accuse me of being an Iowa homer on this board, which I most assuredly am not, but the only reason I get those accusations is because people aren't fair or rational in their assessments of Iowa's programs. Since 2001... Number of 11+ win seasons: Iowa - 3 Nebraska - 0 Number of top 10 finishes: Iowa - 4 Nebraska - 0 Number of conference championships (yes, we are all aware that these were obtained differently than the Big XII): Iowa - 2 Nebraska - 0 Number of major bowl appearances: Iowa - 3 Nebraska - 0 Their program operates quite differently than ours in the sense of having common 4-7 win seasons, but also has seasons sprinkled in that are better than anything we've accomplished in 15 years.
