Correct, but he also has time to read the field and have another receiver break open, or just throw the ball away. Of course it's easy for me to say this (hindsight 20/20 and all) but I think Lee was trying to make a play and young QB's need to realize that more often than not it's better to throw it away and live to play another down

Honestly I kind of blame Lee for this. While the protection is no the greatest, if he just steps up in the pocket he can make an unpressured throw

I went to TMart's coming out party against KSU several years back. The guy in front of me turned around looked at me and yelled F*** Nebraska and F*** YOU!. And he didn't stop until almost halftime when he was so beat down because of the beat down on the field. And then to top it off some jackass threatened to punch my gf now wife for wearing a Husker Hoodie! And my entire experience was mostly that way from the vast majority of KSU fans. Only the old timers who remember how god awful they were before Snyder were decent

1. Lee is the real deal and I hope somehow we get him back for his senior year 2 It was definitely the first game in a new scheme. Our defense struggled because lets be honest they had not seen another teams offense. And lets give Ark ST. some credit. They run their offense super efficiently and at an extreme pace. Their is no way our scout team can actually emulate at practice. 3. Our defense will get better, Diaco knows what he wants to do with his defense. Having a game of film is extremely valuable and we will see a lot less of the alignment issues next week. 4. Don't forget a lot of these guys especially up front weren't recruited for the 3-4 defense 5. Riley and co. have recruited some legit athletes. 6. Huskerboard is a dumpster fire on gamedays

Will this raise us in the rankings?

I think this is a good point. It's not like he's Peyton Manning back there. I think he's athletic enough to make the defense pay if they leave it wide open.

I think everyone agrees that Tanner Lee has the physical tools needed to be a really good QB. What will separate him from the pack is if he can do a few things the truly elite QB's do. 1. Make the correct pre snap adjustments. He has to be able to walk up to the line and read the defense and then check to the right play, or change the blocking assignments in order to take advantage of what the defense is doing. 2. Limit mistakes/turnovers. This is something that TA struggled with. His legs would wow us at times, but his stats against the Big Ten dropped significantly compared to the other teams we played. 3. Throw his targets open. Again this is something we haven't seen in quite sometime. Truly elite QB's have a knack for throwing to a spot that creates space for his targets. If Tanner can do this then he will elevate the other starters and we could be in for a special year!

This x100! I honestly think Helu's talent and impact is overlooked a lot when people reminisce about the last few teams we had in the Big XII. He was fast and explosive and not to mention made Missouri his absolute bitch!
