  1. If it's strictly a money situation; then the Big Ten has a checkmate on that.
  2. I don't believe so. The schools that would be brought in aren't having any problems as it stands now.
  3. Geographically, it's a push. Politically, you may very well be right. However, IF A&M head to the SEC, then the political issue diminishes.
  4. Id be surprised if UT goes North instead of West I'm by no means considering anything a "done deal". Just sharing what I've read, and PBC from WildcatReport.com has been on this since early May. The Big Ten is the better option.
  5. I'm reading elsewhere that the Texas decision makers are split between Big Ten and Pac Ten.
  6. PBC Update: http://northwestern.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?SID=901&fid=57&style=2&tid=143839427&Page=7
  7. I don't think this is correct. Here is a quote from Tom Osborne from a few years ago (re: PQ rules in the Big 12 vs. the Big 10): "Where this rule can hurt you is if a player is considering Nebraska and Ohio State or some other school in the Big Ten." I asked those who know better than me. As I understand it, NU gets 4 PQs a year in the Big XII.
  8. As I understand it, the academic qualifications for recruits in the Big Ten are more stringent than the Big XII. Not a haughty statement, just a truth that I've been told over and over again. I don't believe PQs are permitted in the Big Ten at all.
  9. I hope that you're able to get your anger under control, because you haven't a clue as to how Big Ten teams feel about Nebraska.
  10. Until that invitation occurs... You shut your face!
  11. Considering the HIGH probability of Nebraska coming to the Big Ten, I would say that you fail to comprehend just how the Big Ten views Nebraska. When finalized, Nebraska should feel esteemed about being invited, and gracious to have the opportunity. It's win-win.
  12. I'm a Buckeye living in Oregon, and I would say that Pac Ten coverage of the expansion considerations of Nebraska is lame at best. Granted, I'm getting most of my information from Big Ten sources.
  13. Can't help but wonder if it's just for show. I would imagine the phones between the Regents have been burning consistently for days.
  14. I recommend that you don't bring Vince to the debate Knapp.
  15. May just be that GameDay has been to Columbus more than anywhere else.
  16. Going to string a few things together from WildcatReport.com. Take it FWIW: http://northwestern.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?SID=901&fid=57&style=2&tid=143839427&Page=7
  17. I understand the humor, but I wanted to ask if you knew that there IS a real reason for the "The" distinction?
  18. As Kinch said, the Big Ten's interest would only be UT and A&M. That includes OU and OSU. I understand your reserved enthusiasm; however, 1) $6,000,000,000 can't be considered hype. Sure, there are different perspectives; but never hype. 2) It's not just a matter of sharing services like libraries and IT. It's a complete cooperative amongst ALL member schools. Students learn at other institutions as well as their initial graduate program. I was never a Big Ten student nor involved with the CIC; however, I have been educated on the matter by those who have been.
  19. I am thinking Politics. As a matter of fact, I'm considering the whole picture. IMO, there is nothing that Pac Ten offers Texas that the Big Ten can't beat outside of baseball and a few other smaller sports. TV Exposure? Check. Athletic Money? Check. Academic Money? Check. A Cooperative Set of Universities? Check. I live on the West Coast. I now know what the mindset is for the fans out here. It's no where near as rabid as what Texas is used to and the Big Ten provides. Furthermore, IF A&M heads to the SEC; then it's even less of an issue for Texas to go Big Ten.
  20. Strictly for humor: http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/college-football/620224-iowa-nebraska-rivalry.html#post1713689
  21. Sweet Mercy!!! That little tidbit sent my grammatical o.c.d. into hyper-spasms. I look forward to verbally jousting with the young man.
  22. Or if you can get Comcast instead.
  23. Are you attempting to say this enough to make yourself believe it or do you really have some sort of direct line to Powers? You do realize that Gee and Powers have spoken, no? http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sports/stories/2010/06/04/e-mails-hint-eyes-are-upon-texas.html
