  1. I'm glad audio-gate has been put to rest. I hope the rest of the season goes well and that Bo gets the team going in the right direction, but something tells me he won't be at NU til retirement. I would not be surprised if he has his agent on the lookout for other jobs, either college or NFL.
  2. Excellent! http://www.omaha.com/article/20130918/NEWS08/130918755/1685#world-herald-editorial-fans-hardly-fair-weather
  3. We're not talking about it because Bo sent Deadspin an email . . . That's funny!
  4. This has been a terrible week in Husker Nation, no doubt about it. I absolutely do not believe Bo should be fired for a two year old outburst. But his coaching... I am amazed that nobody is talking about the fact that a coach in his 6th year, with his players, his schemes, $3 mill salary - and we aren't even ranked! Have we really lowered our expectations that much?
  5. If Bo expects the fans to let it go, he should be willing to let it go too. No, it shouldn't have been leaked, but it shouldn't have been said in the first place.
  6. First, I think the person who leaked the audio is a coward, plain & simple. I hope he/she regrets this for years to come. Second, I am not a fan of Bo as a coach. I feel like the program is stuck in the mud and we have seen almost no progress in the past six years. I think that alone calls for a coaching change at the end of the season. Third, Bo is a passionate guy and wears his emotions on his sleeves, I get that and understand it. But calling out the fans should never be acceptable. Not here or at any school. I do feel bad that this came out now, there was no need for it, but never call out the fans. Having said all of that - here is a quote from Barfknect's column. He sums up my feelings pretty good: Link to column on omaha.com: http://www.omaha.com...-best-interests
  7. Here is Tommie's tweet after Bo's news conference this mornig: and then a follow-up:
  8. "As for Nebraska, the UCLA loss is just the latest in a series of embarrassing defensive breakdowns for Bo Pelini's program. in the Huskers last five games, Nebraska has given up 70 points, 45 points, 34, points, 13 points and now 41 points. And that 13-point defensive effort was against a horrible Southern Miss team that has the longest losing streak in the country." http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/writer/bruce-feldman/23662694/the-big-picture-bama-overcomes-manziels-spectacular-show Hopefully I posted quote and link correctly.
  9. Did anyone else notice how defeated Bo appeared at the post game news conference? None of the anger or hot headedness that he normally shows following a loss. I thought he seemed very defeated.
  10. I don't think we can possibly get a proven head coach. NU just isn't a sought after gig, so I say do what Texas Tech did and give it to a former player.

    Crowd

I sat in east stadium. I thought it was very loud during the first half, but the air was sucked out of the place when things started going south. Sadly, I think after a decade of this stuff we fear the worst instead of expecting the best.
  12. Coaches are paid a lot of money to make sure the players execute and it isn't happening.
  13. Sadly, our name won't carry us far much longer. It seems we are less relevant nationally with each passing season.
  14. I agree. We aren't going to get a big name, so lets go with a young up & comer who at least has a passion for the state and school. By the way, Frost's mom & dad were two rows in front of me at the game today.
  15. I would love for Frost to join the staff in any capacity. Eventually he will be a head coach and I hope it happens at NU. Not saying he is ready now, but would love him on our sideline.
  16. I agree that Bo runs a clean program and is a good family man, but not only do I question his coaching, but the "us against them" routine gets old and does not work. College coaches have to embrace the fans and during his news conference today he was already playing that card.
  17. The fans having class and showing respect has nothing to do with our poor coaching staff.
  18. It's not just the DC, it's the entire staff. I wanted it to work for Bo, but this is year six and we are stuck in the mud. I don't like the thought of us becoming a school that fires coaches, so hopefully Bo leaves for another gig, but if not, Eichorst has some thinking to do.
  19. It would be awesome if different sides of the stadium wore red / white for one game.
  20. I like the old Herbie in overalls. He looked like a farmer, the current one looks like a lumberjack.
  21. That's what I was thinking, but didn't know what the masses would do.
