  1. No wonder the world is in such flusterclucking mess. God is now actively involved in Husker athletics and posting on anonymous forums. Seems like there would be more pressing matters to take care of
  2. Exactly right. The bowls, especially these lower tier bowls that NU would be playing in, are interested in putting butts in the seats for the game and $$$ in the local economy. They could care less about NU's pathetic defense as long as they end up 6-6 and will bring people to watch the game.
  3. I think Cosgrove owes the Husker fans an apology more than we owe him one. He is a highly paid specialist that has failed miserably in his job at a high profile program. The list of records, many over a half century old, that have been shattered while he was at the helm of the defense is almost endless and mind numbing in their scope. The threats and abuse his family has taken is inexcusable and should be pursued by law enforcement but I didn't threaten him or harass his family an don't feel it is my duty to apologize for idiotic behavior of other people. In his defense at least he has shown some humility during this whole debacle unlike the arrogant, pompous ass he has for his boss.
  4. Why? I would think this would enhance our chances with Bo (if that is the direction TO decides to go, if indeed makes any move at all) since I doubt he would be on the short list to take over for Miles if he leaves.
  5. So is this the new criteria for picking a coach, how they performed in their last game? I'm glad we weren't looking at Nick Saban or Jim Tressel because they need to be banished off the list immediately with losses to mediocre teams this weekend.
  6. To take a line from a popular movie: "It's not... it's the same ballpark." ".... ain't in the same bleepin' ballpark, it ain't the same league, it ain't even the same bleepin' sport." As is ending up ranked in the top 25 once in four years. And even that was a lowly #24. Any time this talk about continuing the BC disaster after this year I just go to Fire Bill Callahan and look at his record posted on the right side of the page and shake my head in total disgust. And that is just his game record. It doesn't include the dozens of streaks, individual and team records that he destroyed in the last 4 years. The sooner this assclown and his court jesters are out of Lincoln, the sooner I can sleep easy at night. I'll always be a Husker fan and will support the kids but if BC and company are back next year I'm not going to be following the team very closely I'm afraid. I just can't take it anymore. And I won't be sending in my meager yearly contribution to the program either.
  7. You're in the Rumorville forum and complaining about rumor threads?
  8. "..... We'll all stick together, in all kinds of weather ....." Well, except for you fair weather fans. What a joke. But I'm sure you'll be back watching every game when things turn around. And claim to be a die hard fan all along, through thick and thin.
  9. Even if this is true, and I have my doubts, what make anybody think Burkes any idea of what the future of the coaches is? I highly doubt TO and the rest of the administration consults with Jaivorio on their decisions. He may have been speaking with his heart but if TO retains BC after this season I think it will make the uproar over the SP/FS/BC debacle look tame. The people of the state are ready to tar and feather BC and ride him out of town on a rail. Keeping him would be suicidal for the program.
  10. UConn coach that is Kugler's pick. Looks good on paper. No NU roots and have no idea if he would be interested in coming west. If would be interested he would definitely be in the top 2 or 3.
  11. I'll be lazy and quote your list fatirish because it looks good to me. Kelly looks to be a great coach but no NU roots. Probably the best looking younger coach that might consider coming here. Glenn would have been my pick once frank got the boot. Has done well at all levels. Not as successful at Wyo. but Laramie is probably worse to recruit to than Buffalo. Nebraska roots, integrity. At 58 getting a little long in the tooth. Johnson would be a great hire. Successful in getting Navy into winning every year. Seems to have integrity and runs a tight ship. Must admit I'm partial to the ground game and Johnson knows how to run the ball. No NU roots. Has good gig with Navy making good $$$. Not sure if he would be interested. Gill seems to be doing a good job at Buffalo too early to really tell. As about as deeply rooted in NU as possible. Too early for a step up to a major college IMHO. Rather passive in his approach and demeanor. Huge risk. Bo is about as fiery as you could as for, maybe too much. Has a year here and knows what he would be getting himself into. Not good with the press. Has never run a program so nobody knows what to expect. I have to wonder why 4 years removed from NU he is still a coordinator and not a HC somewhere. Huge risk. Of all the rest I like Gary Patterson but don't think it is very likely he will end up here but if A&M doesn't take him who knows. I'm not sure any of the coaches listed above would have an interest in taking over a program a pathetic as NU at this point. Additionally, other programs, some more attractive and with deeper pockets will be looking for a coach after the season. We may not get our first or second choice.
  12. I would put money on him being gone within a few days of the CU game. TO came into unite the Husker Nation. Keeping BC would do just to opposite. This whole experiment has turned into an unqualified failure. The fans know it, the boosters know it, TO knows it and this staff knows it. The sooner we get rid of that arrogant, pompous ass the sooner we will be moving to heal the wounds of the last 4 years. I don't know if I can take 3 more games with him at helm. I know I can't take him coming back next year and I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way.
  13. The interview is still up on KOZN's website for anybody that is interested. Barfy Interview on Unsportsmanlike Conduct. You can find it at about 12 minutes into the Oct. 31st Seg 2: Kevin and Mike'l With Lee Barfknecht segment. It will be gone sometime Friday so if you want to listen to it don't delay.
  14. If you do go to the game and spend the night in Lawrence it might be a good idea to take turns on guard duty throughout the night watching your cars. It seems the good residents of Lawrence have a habit of slashing the tires of visiting Husker Fans in the middle of the night. In 2003, there were reports of 30 vehicles with Nebr. plates having there tires slashed by KU fans. In addition to the expense of 4 new tires you will probably miss the game, have a nice towing bill, probably miss time from work the following week and have grand old time trying to find tires on the weekend when the town is basically shut down. They might put up a front as good rivals down there but keep an eye on them guys, they can't be trusted as proven by their criminal history. KU Fans in Lawrence Slash Tires of Visiting Husker Fans
  15. Ya, but with the way the season is going it is a lot more fun following the rumors around than bitching about the performance of the team.
  16. Say, by chance do you have any pictures you could post up for us?
  17. I don't hold out much hope for wins against either KU or CU. KSU at home is the only game I can see this team having a chance of winning.
  18. I might be alone but wasn't sad over yesterday's loss. It was the first game in I don't know how long I've been able to watch all 4 qtrs. without turning off the TV in disgust. Maybe it is the fact that I've resigned myself to the fact this team will probably not win another game this year. Once I accept that reality it becomes more a question of will the team show up and play hard and put up a battle for at least part of the game or will they be blown out like the previous three weeks. I'm alright with them losing the last three games and will be happy if there are no more embarrassing, demoralizing blowouts.
  19. I thought he took has ball and went home
  20. I think it would be a huge risk to hire Bo as a HC. Although he has proven to be a good DC we have no idea how he would perform running a program. He might turn out to be a success as a HC OR he may be a total failure. The coaching world is full of great OC and DC that were complete flops as a HC. The fact he is 4 years removed from NU and still a DC seems to point to the fact others see something that is scaring him off from hiring him as a HC (even though the media always tells us he is the next great head coaching prospect). As far as I know he hasn't really shown to be a great recruiter, his ability to communicate and handle the media would have me worried. His organizational skills are unknown. Can he put together a staff that can work together and succeed? Some of his antics and reactions when he was here show a lack of maturity. The fact he was on the OU sideline during the 2004 Sugar Bowl while he was still acting HC at NU and drawing a paycheck from NU didn't sit well either. If he does end up here I will support him like any other coach TO decides on but I would much rather see a young, up and coming coach with a proven track history running a program than taking a risk on such an unknown like Bo.
  21. But at least we didn't get blown out
  22. I've been pretty critical of this staff this year like everyone else but I think they deserve a little credit for getting the team ready to play today and having a competitive game plan. Losses like this aren't nearly as hard to take as the pathetic games we've had to endure this year. In fact, if the team shows this kind of effort the remaining 3 games it is not beyond the realm of possibility that this staff might get another year.
  23. I give a tip of the hat to both the players and coaching staff for this game. They came out and gave it a hell of run but ended up just a bit short. The effort was there all day and the team didn't quit (like the previous few games). The staff had a good game plan on both sides of the ball. The pressure defense ended up costing us in the 4th qtr. but at least we were out there playing competitive ball and not play two handed touch. It was great seeing McCoy get leveled several times. All-in-all, I'm much happier with this loss than the prior four. Honestly, I don't expect wins any more but if the team can put out an effort like this rest of the year I won't be upset even if we don't win any of them.
