  1. "source" was right on Natter, hoping he can go 2 for 2.
  2. In a recruiting battle with Duke. Not saying NU can get Okafor, but its cool to be mentioned.
  3. Chicago kid. Work some magic coach Coleman.
  4. I have always thought it would be cool to see the 70's style again. The Johnny Rodgers style. Stripes on the shoulders, grey face mask. It would also be cool to break them out vs Oklahoma. 2020 perhaps, 50 years since game of the century.
  5. We need 4 OT's without a drop off. With the Rodriguez move, we've now got Moore, Sirles, A-Rod, Qvale all as guys 6'6" or taller, over 300lbs, all with playing experience. That gives us a really good 2 deep. We also need 4 OG's without a drop off. With Long, Choi, Thompson and some other very talented young guys (Reeves, Klachko, Price, Thurston, Whitaker) we have depth at the OG position as well. We need 2 C's without a drop off. Pensick and Jackson will be these guys. With that being said, our O-Line will have a solid 2-deep this year with a lot of young guys right behind them on the come. As one of the BIG 10 announcers said, Nebraska has 23 O-Linemen on the roster right now. That's the most of any Big 10 school they have visited this spring... one of the schools had as few as 8 on the roster. I wonder where you see Cotton playing next fall? OG or perhaps Center??
  6. This article was published yesterday. 3 of the Top 10 prospects in Illinois play for Whitney Young HS. Would love to see Chin snag at least 1 of them. Read that article. Mentioned Okafor as a likely one and done. How cool would it be to have a one and done at NU? Having Coleman on board is very exciting.
  7. I would love this hire. I don't think we have a chance. Smart turning down Illinois hurts, puts NU 2nd in B1G pecking order. I bet Groce will be pursued by Illinois quickly after Ohio exits the NCAA tourney.
  8. I would need a good answer from Spinelli as to why he left Nebraska for Wichita State if he liked Lincoln so well. Did he see the writing on the wall and wanted to get out before everyone got fired? If we take a chance on him and he does have success is he going to be committed to staying at Nebraska or move on if he has that chance? He left with Collier
  9. Comments on hiring another mid-major coach make a lot of sense to me. You just never know how they will transition to the next level. Will they be able to recruit the next level athlete? It's a gamble.
  10. Crazy thought I keep coming back to. Wasn't Larry Brown looking for a job a couple of years ago? I know its out there like Brad Stevens, so go ahead and shoot it down.
  11. Would love to get 3. Just feel like a lot of people are ready to get excited about this team.
  12. Absolutely 100% my #1 choice! I don't know if he would come here, but the guy is a super smart coach and would be a splash hire. Let's do everything we can to get him here. the guy is under contract through 2021. no chance at all That's why buy outs are built in to contracts!!! Seriously, keep passing the hat! This. Honestly, basketball coach at Nebraska may be a step down from Butler at the moment. The only thing better here is the facilities. Otherwise, Butler is an established program right now after being in back-to-back national championships. Plus, my old man made this point last time I was home: Apparently Barry Collier is the AD at Butler, so he likely wouldn't grant Stevens permission to even talk to Nebraska. I was only basing my thoughts on Stevens turning down Oregon, Wake, and Clemson last year. Hadn't even thought about Collier.
  13. Best case senario. Vikings play at Gopher Stadium for a year, the Metrodome gets torn down to build a new stadium, UM drops baseball and this guy goes away.
  14. Absolutely 100% my #1 choice! I don't know if he would come here, but the guy is a super smart coach and would be a splash hire. Let's do everything we can to get him here. the guy is under contract through 2021. no chance at all
  15. that is a pretty weak home schedule, welcome to the Big10.
  16. glad this got done before spring ball
  17. While on the subject, Purdue's coach with the idea to have a short season in the fall is just slightly less stupid. I think the season could be moved back a month, and extended into August without any problem. That would help the northern schools. The only draw back to NU's move to the Big10, baseball. They just don't get it.
  18. Tim Miles at Colorado St. A guy who can win with Nebraska guys.
  19. one problem with Big10 baseball that the Big10 can fix, over-signing. fix it.
  20. Is Cardinal Mooney in Omaha? Because all their recruits go to NU. Good news.
  21. If NU basketball had a chance to finish top half of the conference Nebraskans would care enough to fill an arena. They have before. Could I ask you, Bucky, about Wisconsin's commitment to baseball?
  22. It is possible. NU is the only team in the DQ Classic with a winning record.
  23. Gonzaga is undefeated and beat Illinois in a close game and blew them out in another. No one int the Big10 has many impressive wins. I understand your dissappointment in losing 3 close games, just trying to make you feel better.
  24. My guess is that the staff has finally gotten word that one of the current commits is not going to qualify or another player has left the team. My understanding is that we had two remaining schollys lef, one for CJack and one for Maher. With the likelihood of CJack making it, I can't imagine Maher not having a scholarship. I would think Spencer Long would go on scholarship. I also would think somebody will leave the program in the spring.
