State Department to reject Keystone XL application
gobiggergoredder replied to carlfense's topic in Politics & Religion
Carlfense, I will do my best through the formatting . Opinion vs Fact It's a collective lob as much as it is a comment to this message board. Search Keystone XL via google any there a ton of legitimate looking websites that are clearly set up by front groups. This is a difficult topic to research becuase their is too much passion around the subject. Example of misinformation (A little off the subject and you didn't ask for it) I was at work the other day and one of my employees brought up this issue. They were talking about how Robots were going to weld the beads that connected the pipes sections together and they couldn't support that. They said a human would be far better welding these pipe connections. I don't know whether the Robot welding is part of the deal or not, but I will tell you that I will take a robot weld over a human weld any day. I have been around welding my entire life are there is no way that a human can weld as consistently and effectively as a robot. This individual had rooted their decision on the pipeline on something that was terribly inaccurate. Demand for oil vs need for pipeline The oil is another source and we need to figure out how to use it. Substandard oil This was a misread and mistake on my part Jobs No different than the opinion vs fact. You can find different numbers depending on the source. I'm going to step out on the limb and say this will create more jobs than Solyndra. Chinese Oil Unforetunately, you are probably right on this one. -
Thank you sir for posting this. I don't care if there is meaning behind his blue shirt or the socks that he wears. He has taken it upon himself to look different than the other 60 guys standing on the sidelines. He seems like a good kid and I highly doubt that is his intent. Next thing you know, so one on the team with have an Aunt with breast cancer and they will be rocking a pink shirt hanging out of their jersey. Well, that is a good reason to do it right? Maybe another kid with have a grandma with glaucoma, so he needs to wear Blue Blockers in his helmet. Well, that is a good reason to do it right? Where does it stop and who decides? Is it the end of the world...not even close. I think it is lame and shouldn't be allowed. Wear your team issued gear and win the game.

For any fitness fanatics on this message board
gobiggergoredder replied to HuskerShark's topic in Health & Fitness
Did you completely rock a hard one when you saw this thread? I bet you have been waiting a long time to post a picture of your self without your shirt on a message board frequented by 99.9% dudes. The narcissism in our culture is sickening anymore. -
Similiar to the 'uproar' that was/has been shown when Nidal Hasan murdered 13 and wounded 29 US service members? Oh wait, there hasn't been one. The media and Miltary Leadership have hung these 'kids' out to dry while pushing this most hurrendous issue under the rug. I have never served in the military and can only imagine what it is like to make a very modest salary to put your life on the line. Pissing on those that have tried to kill you seems pretty modest compared to beheading and hanging burned bodies from a bridge. I don't condone the behavior, but I don't understand how there is an outcry for these punishment of these boys while Nidal Hasan, and those that facilitated the Fort Hood murders, roll under the radar.

State Department to reject Keystone XL application
gobiggergoredder replied to carlfense's topic in Politics & Religion
I'm not going to be like the rest you out here and post an opinion article as fact. It's clear that in this forum if you agree with pipeline, someone will find 15 sources (all saying a different thing) but used for the same argument. This forum is a microcosm of what is going on in the country. Passionantely following issues that we nothing about. I'll be the first one to tell you that I don't know what to believe about this one. Each side is spoonfeeding misinformation to their masses. Like everything else, I imagine the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I don't know what is the right the thing to do, but I know the need for oil is not going to diminish. We all need to get over gas prices because oil is in everything! You all need to start looking at how much plastic is in everything or even reading labels on the products you use. Enviromental impact of sub standard oil? Are you serious? So what do you think is going to happen to that oil Captain Planet? It's still going to get used. They will find a way for it to be used. And it will hurt the enviroment even more as those massive tanker ships go across the pacific on their way to China. The jobs critism is also something I don't get. Let's say it is 10K instead of 20K. Wouldn't there still be crews having lunch at a local resturant, stopping at a convience store to buy goods, staying the night in a hotel, drinking a beer at the watering hole? Hopefully you don't take the beating I did for calling out KBell's blue shirt. That was a fail on my part.

I agree. I don't think he meant any harm about the Lesbian thing. I think he was getting at the commonly-held belief that LBGT folks tend to be liberal, and she was cited by a conservative source. I don't think the intent was to point fingers at the gays. Thank you knapp, I couldn't have said it better. -

You'll sometimes see a glimmer of hope on the Fox site, only to have it dashed reading the comments. I not trying to start anything here but Sally Kohn is a Lesbian, Community organizer, former chairperson of the Enviromental Grantmakers association that also contributes to MSNBC and the Huffington Post. I'm sure you have all looked at some of her previous work. What did you think her opinion would be? -

I'm Finding a New Team to Cheer For
gobiggergoredder replied to Landomatic's topic in Husker Football
What it all comes down to is that many don't have any perspective whatsoever. One of the best things I ever did was move out of Nebraska for 4 years. I thought I would show everybody by going off on my own and leaving my hick home state behind. It made me appreciate every aspect of this state that much more. From a purely sports standpoint, I was amazed at the area that I once lived in. There were 3 major D1 programs within 30 minutes of my home. They were all fairly terrible at Football at the time. One of them was only about 5 miles away. I got a kick out of how I could buy a ticket for $10 and sit in the empty stadium as some of the best programs in the country steamrolled this team over and over again. We have a great state, great people, great athletics and a good football team. Let it go dude. -

I would suggest you start figuring out what your Huskerboard login is going to be in two months (when you realize how toolish your OP was) because you'll never be able to use that one again. -

I sure hope so, but I hate articles like this. They are similar to those that come after the spring game. You never hear from the guy again. -
Just out of curiosity. Have you have been a manager or in charge of a group of people? Have you ever had to hire employees or select people for a group?

The police in Kearney do an outstanding job. I've lived in a few places myself. Don't have near the problems of GI & Lex. -

You've posted had two 'wasting tax payer money' posts in a short period of time. How about posting some 'green energy' stories.
