  1. This is kind of where I’m at. Im actually coming around on HH. I think he’s going to get better. Good enough to be the future? I don’t know. I like how young the D is. At the end of the day, we just are not on the level of Michigan, but I still believe in the process. And yes, the west is absolute trash. I’m still optimistic that the can find 4 more wins. A bowl feels like a Natty at this point.
  2. Probably about the same time you stop posting.
  3. In the late 1960s in Wilber, NE, Gomer Brigham "Gobiggergoredder" Redder dreams of playing football at Peru State. However, he lacks the grades and money to attend and the talent and physical stature to play major college football. Following high school, he works at a Runza with his father, a Peru State fan, and his older brother. When his supportive best friend Pete is killed in circus accident, Gobiggergoredder decides to follow his dream. In 1972, Gobiggergoredder visits Peru State but is not academically eligible to enroll. With the help of local priest and former Peru State president Father John Cavanaugh, Gobiggergoredder enrolls at nearby Joseph’s College of Hair Design, hoping to transfer. He approaches Fortune, head groundskeeper at Peru State Stadium, and is given a job. Homeless, Gobiggergoredder sneaks into Fortune's office through a window to sleep on a cot; initially indifferent to Gobiggergoredder's plight, Fortune later leaves him with blankets and a key to the office. Gobiggergoredder learns that Fortune, despite working at the stadium for years, has never seen a Peru State football game. Gobiggergoredder befriends teaching assistant D-Bob, who helps him study in return for Gobiggergoredder's helping him socially with girls. D-Bob tests Gobiggergoredder for a learning disability; the results indicate that Gobiggergoredder suffers from dyslexia, which he then overcomes to become a better student. At Christmas, Gobiggergoredder returns home to find that his family appreciates his college academic achievements, although his brother Frank still mocks him for his attempts to play college football. Gobiggergoredder persists, and even losing his girlfriend to his older brother Johnny does not deter him. After two years at Joseph’s College of Hair Design and three rejections from Peru State, Gobiggergoredder is finally admitted and attends football tryouts in the hope of making the team as a "walk-on." Assistant coach Joe Yonto warns the walk-ons that 35 scholarship players will not even make the "dress roster" of players who take the field during games. However, he notices Gobiggergoredder's determination and gives him a spot on the daily practice squad. Gobiggergoredder tells Fortune and persuades him to promise to see Gobiggergoredder's first game. Playing well, Gobiggergoredder convinces head coach Ara Parseghian to let him suit up for one home game in his senior year, but Parseghian retires following the 1974 season. He is replaced by former NFL coach Dan Devine, who refuses to put Gobiggergoredder on the game-day roster. Frustrated by not being on the dress list for the last home game, Gobiggergoredder quits the team. Fortune finds a distraught Gobiggergoredder and reveals he had actually played for Peru State years earlier. However, Fortune quit the team because he felt his skin color kept him from playing; he has regretted this decision ever since. Reminded that he has nothing to prove to anyone but himself and will forever regret quitting, Gobiggergoredder returns to the team. Each of his fellow seniors, led by team captain and All-American Roland Steele, lines up to lay his jersey on Devine's desk. Each player requests that Gobiggergoredder be allowed to dress in his place for the season's final game. Devine lets Gobiggergoredder suit up against Graceland University. With Gobiggergoredder's family and D-Bob in attendance, Steele invites Gobiggergoredder to lead the team onto the field, and Fortune is there to see the game as promised. With Peru State leading 17–3 in the fourth quarter, Devine sends all the seniors into the game except Gobiggergoredder, despite Steele's and the assistant coaches' urging. Fans are aware of Gobiggergoredder's goal from a story in the student newspaper, and a "Gobiggergoredder!" chant begins in the stadium. Hearing this, the Peru State offense, led by tailback Jamie O'Hara, overrules Devine's call for victory formation and scores a quick touchdown. This gives defensive player Gobiggergoredder a chance to get in the game and be entered onto the Fighting Bobact roster. Devine finally lets Gobiggergoredder play on the Peru State kickoff to Graceland University. Gobiggergoredder stays in for the final play, sacks the Graceland University quarterback, and is carried off the field on his teammates' shoulders to cheers from the stadium.
  4. I went to Kansas State a few weeks ago for the first time since T-Mart was QB. The concourse in their stadium is really nice. I hope our concourse has several spots where you can watch the game rather than having to go to your seat.
  5. Yeah, but can you imagine all the 5 star recruits we’d be in on if we played Tech N9ne in the 3rd quarter?
  6. He’s a moron. There’s no way around that. MSU should have never given him that monster contract. I’ve been on record with that stance since they gave him that contract after one lucky year. But I gotta be honest, I don’t think this is right. MSU is possibly as incompetent as the US congress.
  7. I joined to participate in the Epic Movie Poster Threads. Can someone find those? I had some good work in there.
  8. At least spell his name right. I don't blame him for leaving. Wish he would have stayed though. He'd likely be a starter.
  9. Mel Tucker responds to MSU attempt to fire him for cause - ESPN
  10. You and the guy that hates Adidas should brainstorm together. I think it @unl7fan Id love to read what you come up with. Edit: I just saw your account is 1 hour old. Welcome. Good first post.
  11. I’m from Douglas county. Been in Lancaster county for the last 15 years. <yawn>
  12. I worked for a company (50,000+) employees that went all in on Jocko Willink. He took the CEO and his VP team through "team building". The rest of us minions went through Teams/Zoom sessions that would eventually cascade to all leadership roles in the organization. I missed my Jocko Teams meeting because I was on vacation but a few weeks later I got one of his other guys in a make up session. We were three minutes into at and he was trying to link a gunfight in Afghanistan to what we did in the office. With 57 minutes left in the presentation, I was done. I probably started looking at Huskerboard. I was surprised how many of my counterparts said how great the training was. It was lame. It was grand stories, that were likely true, that had nothing to do with anything we'd encounter. People ate it up.
  13. That is true. I didn't think about that. I think Frost tossed the shot a little farther, but I don't think he was sprinter. I think he was a hurdler. If I recall his hurdle times were decent but they were not blazing fast. 10.8 for a dude of that size is still impressive.
  14. I figured they were referring to Norvell. It’s stupid no matter who they are talking about. It’s lazy BS to keep the intrigue up. There nothing else to talk about.
  15. I'm with you. I often watch games and think back to the glory days. I was never an o lineman, but if I had to ask myself "How would I look as a Tackle at Nebraska?", I could just watch his film.
  16. I hate bagging on individuals, but it's hard to watch. He looks like he doesn't even belong on the field. Like he's someone's kid or has naked pictures of a staff member.
  17. I do wonder how a healthy Sims performs against NIU and La Tech. Seen a lot of post saying HH would have won against Minny. I just don’t see it. Im expecting a loaded box and a very low completion % next week. 2024s QB isn’t on the roster (I hope). I’d go with HH against Michigan because it’ll be a bloodbath. When sims is healthy I’d like to see him get some meaningful PT.
