  1. Piersen-El got his right ankle area rolled up on, on the fake punt
  2. Let's score 21 unanswered and take our important stat of 7-0 and forget this game ever happened.
  3. But he can actually do something about it and didn't yet...
  4. They had some big awful plays but I'm not sure how you come away with the first half thinking "especially" the defensive coaches. We scored 1 TD, and that possession started on their ~20 yard line.
  5. He was talking specifically about declining a penalty on a team that's trying to make more room for their punter.
  6. That doesn't mean you wave the white flag and go air raid for the rest of the game.
  7. Did we just throw it 3 times in a row or am I mistaken?
  8. Also, while I'm on this, any team we play against can just pretend they're going to fake punt so that we don't set up a return with one of our best weapons.
  9. Apparently every team is always going to fake the punt, no matter what their previous tendencies are or where they are on the field. So we may as well not have a punt returner in there. It's not like our punt returner is any good, anyway.
  10. Wisconsin up 14-6 in 4th quarter. Has Iowa improved, is Wisconsin not as good as we thought, or is Wisconin worn out?
  11. Players already get money for discretionary spending. The amount already varies by school. And again, most athletic departments are operating in the red, where is this money that you want to pay the NCAA going to come from? Football and basketball generally fund ALL the sports at a school and not just football and basketball. I know they do. That's nothing compared to this. Maybe it should come from the others that make a crapton of profit off of the games. I dunno. I'm not suggesting that this actually happens.
  12. I'm okay with talking about a set amount. But unless we want there to be a huge disparity in talent, where the teams with money can just buy players, having it so teams like Nebraska can pay 10x what Iowa State can won't work. The only option I can see is having a pool of $ from all schools. It could be something each team pays in order to be a part of the NCAA. That could be used to pay all players who see the field each year.
  13. So the implication is that a supposed camera filter impacted the outcome of this debate? BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *cough* *SNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNIFFF* *cough* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Um, no. (Edit for clarification--I'm laughing at the source site, not JJ). I took another look at that site. They made no implication whatsoever that this impacted the outcome of this debate. They simply reported on the extremely obvious hue differential between Trump and Clinton. Their only implication was that the media was trying to rig the candidates appearance to aid Hillary. You guys can snort, chuckle and guffaw all you want. If you're satisfied with media outlets subliminally affecting peoples perception of candidates, I must say I'm a little disappointed in you. Do you also like it when somebody pisses on you and tells you it's raining? I know I'm quite a bit older than most here but it used to be that these guys would report the news and events, as they really happened, and they made some effort in letting the people decipher what that meant for themselves. Either this was done on purpose to portray Hillary in a better light (no pun intended) than Trump or it was an honest mistake that somebody would have to explain to me how that happens. My first thought when I saw HRC in that debate was, hey she looks a hell of lot better than normal, she must have been in makeup for about 3 days prior to this shindig. Then I found out her image was being enhanced and Trumps was not. I could give a rip less about which person it harmed or helped or really even if it helped in this particular debate. The point is, the people who are presenting this information to normal everyday citizens are being dishonest with them. I don't like being lied to, apparently you guys do. Or, maybe you're just more comfortable with it since it's pretty much been happening your whole lives and you don't know any better. I don't think they're laughing that it happened. I think they don't think it happened. Or at least don't think it was done purposely. Also, Red Five wrote "Each channel had a slightly different hue. On a couple Trump looked very white. On others, he looked his normal orange. Now that could have been the TVs as well." It's also possible that Hillary looked awful on camera because everything was all white and they adjusted the contrast. Which might be something they'd do for an anchor without thinking.
  14. A lot of the recent ones posted have helped me come up with my personal uniform philosophy. It shouldn't be over the top stupid or flashy or use duct tape. But... if I look at the uniform and have no recollection what your original uniform looked like or how this differs from your original uniform, then don't do it at all. There needs to be a happy medium.
  15. Why would anyone believe Pelini would learn anything? The dude was in his 40s with the sh#t behavior, and had an epic meltdown as recently as last season. He's not changing. We're not talking about a 20 year old here.
  16. I'm guessing he took a random poll of his 5 children. The reason it wasn't unanimous is because of the outcast child by Marla Maples.
  17. You aren't going to be swayed. You've said so earlier in this thread. The fact that you ignore evidence that refutes points you try to make proves that you are ignorant to what the protests are about and have no desire to learn. And like Nebfanatic said, ignorance is merely a lack of knowledge. There are many topics I am ignorant about. But I don't go on message boards to try and have a discussion about those topics. I made my first comment on page 3 because I hate anthem protests. I wasn't intending to get this into it. Simple as that. Nobody is forcing you to post in this thread. But when you do, you are taking part in a discussion. If you refuse to see the other side and refuse to learn about why they are protesting, you are going to get backlash. I see the other side, and I don't like it. Either you are doing the same thing as me, or you are refusing to see my side yourself. You refuse to see the other side. I, along with several other posters, have tried to show you the other side and you refuse to read links, or listen to anything that doesn't align with your view. I've seen your side. It's the side of intolerance and hate. And I can't be swayed to that side. I have seen the links, and I still don't agree. My side is also not a side of intolerance and hate. I do not hate anyone on the other side. I just disagree. My side is simply the fact that I do not like protesting the anthem. Simple as that. Stop overthinking it. Whether you like it or not, whether you want to or not, by saying African-American poverty has nothing to do with racism -- among other things you've posted -- you create an impenetrable wall of intolerance. Oops, I keep forgetting about the MultiQuote feature. Oh well. That is not intolerance. Intolerance is having a flat out hatred for people different than yourself. I can like the black community while disliking what they are doing. I am getting more intolerance and hatred for my opinion than what I am projecting out. Not liking "what [the black community] is doing" is intolerance if you make absolutely no serious effort to try to empathize with the background they are coming from and look into the "why." You and lots of others often write that kind of thing off like it's nothing, and then say things like "it's a cultural problem." When you say Blacks' persecution 50 years ago has nothing to do with the situation, you show a complete lack of understanding of the sitiation. It is one of the biggest factors there is.
  18. The only expenses that matter are the ones that go back to the student althletes. For the rest you're right.
  19. In a lot of cases that scenario is okay. Like if we're talking about football coaches whose failure means we have a few bad seasons and then we get a new coach. In the case of Trump it's more like, we could take a chance on him but it's a strong possibility the stadium will burn down and/or something so awful will happen that the football program gets the death penalty.
