Part of Oregon State's troubles this year are Riley's fault. Part of Nebraska's struggles this year are Riley's fault. To give him the sole blame for both is stupid.

You're telling me nothing I don't already know. None of that makes football Perlman's priority. It's not unimportant but by all (unbiased non tunnel vision non Husker forum poster) accounts he's done a lot of good for the university. I get sick of hearing people bashing him and their only basis being football related. It's narrow-minded and ignorant. I've already stated in this very thread that the money goes to the athletic department. It helps football but also other sports. We obviously don't want to lose that and have to start funding it from some other source.

the football program generates 75 million a year. So yea football. Again, the football program is self-sustaining, which is great. But it's constantly spending almost as much as it generates. Part of that goes to employees so that's a really good part of it. As far as I know none of the money from football supports anything outside of the athletic department. It's still not even close to the most important thing about the university and should not be Perlman's priority. right back at you. Hooray. Another thread full of idiots who think football is the most important thing about a university. The football program is self-sustaining. That's great. They spend as much as they bring in. What that doesn't mean is that it provides any $ for anything else. There are other things this university does. Like, say, provide education and do lots of important research.

The point is he hasn't been infallible. He's made plenty of mistakes. Defending everything just by saying "Osborne liked him/it" is not a good defense. One mistake is enough to refute that defense.

It's like saying that Jordan Stevenson will never do well at Nebraska because he's an African American running back, and Aaron Green didn't do well when he was with Nebraska. Actually, I'm comparing POB to every hyped up high school QB who has ever existed. Most of them don't start as true freshmen. Stanton is one of hundreds of examples.
