  1. Part of Oregon State's troubles this year are Riley's fault. Part of Nebraska's struggles this year are Riley's fault. To give him the sole blame for both is stupid.
  2. We should just get rid of the football program then. Heck just get rid of all sports. We should just completely miss points of posts and also live in a black and white world. No offense but I got as far as your first sentence. Because football is the most important thing about the University of Nebraska to you. This is getting weird. If you only got as far as my 1st sentence, that was the most obvious reason why.
  3. You're telling me nothing I don't already know. None of that makes football Perlman's priority. It's not unimportant but by all (unbiased non tunnel vision non Husker forum poster) accounts he's done a lot of good for the university. I get sick of hearing people bashing him and their only basis being football related. It's narrow-minded and ignorant. I've already stated in this very thread that the money goes to the athletic department. It helps football but also other sports. We obviously don't want to lose that and have to start funding it from some other source.

  5. the football program generates 75 million a year. So yea football. Again, the football program is self-sustaining, which is great. But it's constantly spending almost as much as it generates. Part of that goes to employees so that's a really good part of it. As far as I know none of the money from football supports anything outside of the athletic department. It's still not even close to the most important thing about the university and should not be Perlman's priority. right back at you. Football might be the most important thing about the university to the majority of people who post here. But it's not the most important thing about the university.

  8. Hooray. Another thread full of idiots who think football is the most important thing about a university. The football program is self-sustaining. That's great. They spend as much as they bring in. What that doesn't mean is that it provides any $ for anything else. There are other things this university does. Like, say, provide education and do lots of important research.
  9. Wrong again. Which part? http://m.journalstar.com/sports/columnists/sipple/steven-m-sipple-osborne-s-sense-of-calm-will-be/article_4728be79-4ff7-5d81-9b58-4d61ccf004d4.html?mobile_touch=true
  10. The point is he hasn't been infallible. He's made plenty of mistakes. Defending everything just by saying "Osborne liked him/it" is not a good defense. One mistake is enough to refute that defense.
  11. Yeah, he was awful at recruiting. You know, where you judge and choose other people. And coaches/A.D.s are exactly like players.
  12. Ok, he strongly suggested Pederson and people like you, who think he's a god, followed his wishes. Pederson was hired because Osborne said so. Just because he was a great coach doesn't mean he's good at choosing/judging other people.
  13. It fits the narrative so people will push that agenda. Tom Osborne was around Pelini a lot. He had an opportunity to hire Gill and he had an opportunity to fire Pelini. Instead, he doubled down on him and also endorsed him for subsequent jobs. Why do some Husker fans insist believing they know more about Nebraska football success than Tom Osborne? What sort of arrogance does that require? Tom Osborne hired Pederson.
  14. It was the right call. IIRC, MSU would have been in FG position already, so barring the ability to run out the clock by running around crazy, MSU still would have had a chance to score. As is, MSU almost lost still. Had he not dove the way he dove, they wouldn't have scored the TD and would have still lost. No. Michigan was on MSU's 47.
  15. Nurses of all people should know smokin' is bad for their health.Don't be dense Moiraine.....they were smoking a Ham. Babies gotta eat. Babies don't eat hams! Idiot!
  16. He is completing 80% of his throws...nearly double TAs Comp%He's in high school. TA isn't a good thrower or decision maker but we don't know sh#t about how POB will be in college. See Johnny Stanton.Put your support in TA. You may lose your credibility. Watch out! What an idiotic post. I want the best QB to play. I don't care what his/her name is.Well you said it yourself that TA isn't s good thrower and you don't know what POB brings to the table...so you saying it's stupid to think that POB should start is beyond me Because it is stupid to think he should start. We haven't seen him in a single play against college players, and the coaches won't until spring. If they make him the starter it will be based on actually seeing him play. Everyone here who is saying he should be the starter is basing it on HS stats. Lots of QBs have good HS stats and don't do well in college.
  17. He is completing 80% of his throws...nearly double TAs Comp%He's in high school. TA isn't a good thrower or decision maker but we don't know sh#t about how POB will be in college. See Johnny Stanton. You are trying to make a completely faulty comparison simply because they are from the same state and have some hype. It's like saying that Jordan Stevenson will never do well at Nebraska because he's an African American running back, and Aaron Green didn't do well when he was with Nebraska. These are two completely separate individuals. I take it you are pleased with Armstrong's performance given your comments. Actually, I'm comparing POB to every hyped up high school QB who has ever existed. Most of them don't start as true freshmen. Stanton is one of hundreds of examples. I don't give a crap where POB is from or what race he is. I didn't know he was from California. Also, please learn to read. I just said in the exact post you're quoting that TA is not a good thrower or decision maker. Then why the comment that he's the best player on the team. Nobody ever said that. Our QB play is not good right now, and so many fans are wondering if there will be other options in 2016. Nobody is saying he would come in and be the best player on the entire team, so I'm not sure why you are implying that. I said it because it's almost always the backup QB or a QB not on the team yet that is assumed to be the best. It was an exaggeration

  22. There's too much time left and we're up by too little to obsess about running out the clock.
  23. We need to score again but 2 runs per set of downs most of the time would be good.
  24. No. We go up by 9. Then we have another drive. 3 mins are left in the game and a 1st down will basically end things. We don't converge and we punt. NW scores a TD in 2 plays, gets the onside kick and makes the game winning field goal.
