  1. No. It's not. But I will still accept your apology.
  2. I read the article, and I'm starting to get the impression that he's just a really bad driver.
  3. This seems like a weird post from a Nebraska fan, where our HC was also the offensive coordinator for around 30 years. And how do you know there are tons of people who know defense just as well as Pelini? I would definitely disagree with that. I would say there are is a small handful of people we could hire as defensive coordinator who know defense as well as Bo. On the other hand I disagree with the post you're quoting as well. This is Nebraska. We don't have to hire someone who's never coached at the position for. We can find a decent experienced guy if we want. Good points and a reasonable response to my post... True enough that Tom Osborne was a HC and an OC. It is a rare individual with the skill set and the infrastructure around him to actually pull it off. Tom was one of those guys --- and more often than not, he had the necessary infrastructure around him as well.. There are others too. They are, like Tom, and exception. The rule however --- that which applies to the vast majority of coaches --- is that diluting your duties this way is not good. For Bo, who has multiple demonstrable areas where he must improve (and, arguably, improve a great deal) in order to be proficient as a HC --- well, he cannot afford to be "distracted" (further, any more, or increasingly?) by being a DC as well (any more than he is already). Bo, clearly would fall under the rule --- it is not good to be a 2-job guy... unlike Tom, who, with his skills and in a simpler time, and in a better situation (generally) was the exception. Regarding knowing that there are DC's out there that know their D like Bo does --- well, Bo is very good (that is doubtless)... but while he is clearly upper-tier --- he is by no means alone at that level. IMO, he does fine when he's running the defense. It's not having a good offensive coordinator that's been the problem. I think Beck will be good. Bo just needs to trust him next year. I'm not even sure it was wrong for him to focus on the offense the last year. It was Beck's first year so it kind of makes sense. Now he has experience and Bo can get back to focusing on the defense.
  4. This seems like a weird post from a Nebraska fan, where our head coach was also the offensive coordinator for around 30 years. And do you really mean to say there are tons of people who know defense just as well as Pelini? I would definitely disagree with that. I would say there are is a small handful of people we could hire as defensive coordinator who know defense as well as Bo. Maybe less than a handful. In addition to that, the first time he gave someone else (Carl) more control over the defense, this year is what happened. His worst defense since being head coach at Nebraska On the other hand I disagree with the post you're quoting as well. This is Nebraska. We don't have to give new people a chance. That's for lesser programs to do. We can find a decent experienced guy if we want. That isn't to say I'm against hiring within, I'm just against your logic.
  5. I'm happy I get to see him coaching again. Texas Tech was always fun to watch.
  6. I have no issue with Bo trying to get the OSU job, as far as how I feel about him. He went to that school. He's from Ohio. Why would he NOT try to get that job? I'm just glad he didn't get it.
  7. If we're head and shoulders better than Iowa then we're head and shoulders better than Michigan but they just got lucky.
  8. I was looking at his stats compared to last year and they are very similar but he was sacked more than double the # of times last year. He is way better at throwing it away/scrambling/finding a target than he was last year. He usually knows now when he's had the ball too long.
  9. http://msn.foxsports...kong-Suh-112511 I wish these idiots would quit talking sh#t about their Husker teammates. I prefer Suh to Slauson right now...
  10. What don't you understand about "pretty good" ? Pretty good doesn't mean he was satisfied with the season. If you're talking about Cassidy, he said they wanted to win the Big Ten Championship.
  11. But... if somebody wasn't in their seat, doesn't that mean the sellout streak is over? Heh, no. There's never going to be any game in any sport where EVERYONE can make it. Sometimes people get sick the morning of the game. They're not always going to be able to go out and sell their ticket to someone else.
  12. The difference is MJ had the fact that everyone in the world thought he was a "weird" guy who was still emotionally a kid. Even till the day that he died therapists were saying the abuse he suffered left him "child like" emotionally. Sandusky just looks like even more of a pedophile. To add to that, there was one boy in each case against MJ. If Sandusky had only one accuser this would be a different story. In addition to that, Sandusky doesn't have near as much money so the motive isn't there. It was a lot easier to believe MJ was innocent.
  13. We didn't have enough of these threads until yours was added. Thanks.
  14. It's not totally surprising, if you think about it. OSU can't beat OSU, MU can't beat MU, etc. So the only team(s) that had realistic chances since 1993 are Wisconsin and Purdue (when they were good).
  15. He's been back there. They just kick it to the other guy.
  16. If you're trying to show that Mack Brown is a terrible coach but a great schmoozer, I agree.
  17. These are all pretty terrible arguments. I'm not going to comment on the things you're arguing with, but come on. Come up with something better. You're comparing f*ing Ohio, Michigan, and California to Nebraska when discussing recruiting? Ohio and Michigan have more than 9 million people each. Imagine how many hardcore Nebraska-fan-kids we could get if there were 9 million people here. To add to that, people in the northeast are going to follow the Big 10 or the Big East when it comes to football. Who in their right mind would follow the Big East? Almost no one. So you've got one of the most highly populated places in the country watching Big 10 football (aka Michigan and Ohio State). Do I even need to talk about California? From your post, apparently I do, but I'm not going to bother saying anything except: weather, population, Los Angeles. Oklahoma is the only semi-good point you have, and they are right next to Texas, one of the other best areas for recruiting.
  18. remember solich? I remember that he shouldn't have been fired.
  19. I think we can all agree with that.
  20. I watched it. I have an agreement with someone who I forced to watch all of the Harry Potter movies with me opening week. The Twilight movies would be alright, but the romance is just... so horribly cheesy I have to close my eyes sometimes so I don't vomit on the person in front of me. The other major probably I have is that Edward and Bella, even when they're "happy" are constantly gloomy-looking. "Oh no, I gave you a small bruise on your arm. We must never have sex again."
  21. If it were up to me I'd give him at least three more years, as long as he keeps getting 9-10 wins. He wasn't dealt the easiest hand with the conference switch.
  22. I'm on board with the new uniforms now. I want them to look like My Little Ponies. They can have little glittery N's all over their butts.
