  1. Throwing snowballs...I saw that and thought "Great there's Colorado East". PSU keeping it classy. At least we used to throw oranges.
  2. Good point, a better decision is throwing it away. Way up in the stands...hopefully right at the freaking guy with the chicken hat and blood soaked clothes. You can't do that when you're in the pocket though... He would have needed to throw it in the area of the receiver... I was happy he took a sack on that screen pass. If it goes over the receivers head it would be legal, correct?
  3. He played. Has to be something in his personal life. Not trying to pry but these pictures were released by athletic department so they clearly wanted it out there for discussion. Correct? Regardless of whats behind it, I think you can see the bond this head coach has with his players. That's what I like.

  5. Long sustained drives, run after run after run. Control the clock, control the tempo, win the game.
  6. Hey I saw some pictures of the post game locker room and they were giving the game ball to TMoore. Everyone looked like they were choking up with emotion. Another picture of Bo giving him a huge hug. Just curious what was behind it? Anyone know? Did he have a something bad happen this week or something in his personal life? Its a reminder that these young men have personal lives with all the issues of normal life as well as school and football. Sometimes fans forget this and view them as football robots/machines who only have Xs and Os to focus on. http://www.huskers.com/pics32/640/ED/EDBTPSDQVDLOPHM.20111029202419.JPG http://www.huskers.c...11029202419.JPG
  7. Agree, I enjoy nothing more than ruining a young mans NFL draft value. Nice job handling a cover two zone defense. Congrats to the Blackshirts, they earned 'em today for sure.
  8. Go away. Huge win and you find a way to b1tch about Taylor/Bo complex. Go away, Iowa is always looking for fans we don't need you.
  9. Funny, I was never an OU but never really "hated" OU either. Respect I guess. Now Texas on the otherhand, if they never won another game that would be one too many.
  10. I agree. I hate pinning my hopes for winning a game on the possible self destruction of the other team. I would feel much better about this game if I had more confidence in the Huskers (particularly the D) and was less dependent on the other team making mistakes or coming in flat. As you say, punching them in the mouth rather than simply being able to not get punched ourselves. Baby steps I guess. However, I am not one to put any stock in our Minnesota game. 41-14 might look sufficient on paper but the only thing that impressed me at all was the 34-0 halftime score. If our 2nd and 3rd teamers can't expand on that lead against Minnie, well I guess we know why our starting 11 are who they are. I have been spoiled growing up on the 70's, 80's, & 90's Huskers. A 44-14 thrashing against Minn almost feels like a loss to me. I know that is jacked up but I can't help it. We have to start controlling and dominating games rather than simply surviving them. If it helps, I am getting more confident in our chances against MSU. I started the week feeling like we'd get beat by 2-3 touchdowns and am now up to about a push. By Saturday I should be fully partaking of the Kool-Aid. We CAN do it, I'm just not convinced we WILL. The point of this was not that we need them to have a let down. It was just to show that they appear to not play as well on the road. This is a fact. I feel this game is very similar to Mizzu coming to town last year. Will the outcome be the same? I let you know Sat afternoon but until then I'm just saying there are reasons to be positive about this showdown. Earlier people were just sure Wiscy wouldn't lose a game, well guess what? They've lost one and I think will lose again before the B10 season is over. MSU is no different. If Notre Dame can beat them at home then you better damn well think the Huskers can do the same. As far as lowered expectations, I disagree. If you were ignorant enough to think we'd waltz into a new conference, play a new team every week and go undefeated then you are a fool. I'd say sitting at 6-1 with a home game to get a huge inside track at winning the division is a pretty good place to be. This team has show signs of growth, and a desire to win in the most dire of situations. Mark my words, the fate of all B10 teams this year is far from determined. You should know this if you've watched college football for more than one season.
  11. If this is a MUST win, I'm pretty happy with this being a home game.
  12. MSU has played two road games this year. Overall road record 1-1. They lost at NDame 31-13 and won at tOSU 10-7 thus are averaging 11.5 pts/game on the road. As for rushing yards, they had 29yd total vs NDame and only 71yd rushing vs tOSU. They had 6 penalties at NDame and 13 penalties at tOSU. This is their fourth tough game(Mich, tOSU, Wiscy and now Neb) in a row while Nebraska is coming of a bye week followed by soap scrimmage at Minn. I think these numbers shed a little light on why Huskers are favored by 4pt at home. Thought?
  13. Three of the loudest games that come to mind. '92 Colorado, '10 Mizzu and comeback against tOSU this year. Memorial Stadium is capable of rocking. I hope this Sat it is louder than all the before mentioned games.
  14. Attempt Complete Yards % yd/catch TD INTs Rating Joe Ganz 285 420 3568 67.9 8.50 25 11 153.6 It's kinda crazy to look back at these numbers. Our offense has change a lot(and I prefer more rushing). Keep in mind, we did not have a 1000yd rusher that year either. Personally I'd rather have a QB throw for 1000yd and have two guys run for 1000+yds for the year.
  15. Everywhere there is a parking lot, there is good tailgating to be found, North, West and South of the stadium. Arrive early and just stroll around, you will find your self with food and a strong buzz before the game kicks off. I can't say I've ever seen a group of visiting fans treated poorly around the tailgates unless you don't fancy the particular beer/drink the Husker fans offer you... Enjoy the stay and the atmosphere, its pretty darn good. And of course GBR!!!
  16. Wiscy could and might drop another one to tOSU this weekend. Hang on to your hats, long way to go before the title game.
  17. If you don't block, you don't play.
  18. "here comes wisconsin beaten michigan st" I don't follow...
  19. In the last 30 years we've lost 4 times to ISU, and had 2 close wins. A classic Iowa St game is a total rout. A classic Iowa St game recently...and 1992...
  20. As stated in the first post, I think Nebraska will win this one. I just have a feeling it is going to be a lot closer than people think. I just think its a classic Iowa State game, you should kill (no pun intended) them but some how it ends up being a fourth quarter game. I hope I'm wrong for sure. Anyone remember South Dakota State last year or how we were going to roll a horrible OSU team who couldn't score at home?
  21. This is a concern. Here are his rushing numbers from game against Miami OH. Rushing: M. Gray (MINN) - 25 CAR, 171 YDS I think he will give us fits and it will look bad on National TV. Mark my words, this game will be no 2nd BYE week, it will be a close contest. I think Huskers still win but this will be the new Iowa State for Nebraska, a lose lose contest even if you win.
  22. The best part about this board is none of you even know what you're talking about. You respond to things in the media. If you knew anyone inside the program you would have a clue. That said, 4 stars, 5 stars, 2 stars...they don't mean a damn thing. Look back over the years at the "stars" our best players were given during the recruiting process. If a kid is hurt by a coach leaving that sucks but look around the country...we have had probably as stable a coaching staff as any program.
  23. If your hockey's defense is anything like your football team they prolly gave up about 8 goals in that game. :bigredn: :bigredn: :bigredn:
