  1. Would love to see roll outs, bootlegs and some triple option. Seems like we have the QB's to make all these very effective.
  2. Cody just looked like he was out of place...he's looked that way about every game he has been in. I don't know if he feels uncomfortable in the offense or what? Plus, he seems like he's maybe put on some weight and doesn't have the quick feet needed at times. I wonder what would happen if we ran some triple option with some of our QB's? Seems like we have the personnel to really run that!
  3. LOOK...you've posted 6000+ times. Maybe when you see a thread that doesn't interest you, maybe you should just not read it, or ignore it. I don't think anyone is holding a gun to your head. Some of us don't have every second of the day to sit on this board and post.
  4. I know this is probably beating a dead reporter...I mean horse, but I live in Missouri and do not have an opportunity to listen to much Huskers media live. I download podcasts and listen to Huskers on the internet. I was sooooo looking forward to listening to the Pelini teleconference, and then, later, signing day podcasts---especially after coming through with Peat, Jackson, Starling, Green, Turner and numerous other recruits. Unfortunately, right before the teleconference, the "cat was let out of the bag" regarding the situation with the defensive backs and the possible news that Marvin Sanders would not be back with the team. Immediately, the press's focus completely shifted from the GREAT recruiting class to going after Pelini regarding the coaching situation. In my opinion, Pelini was somewhat blindsided by the whole situation. The press just WOULD NOT let it go. To me, the press, not Bo Pelini, absolutely ruined signing day. That line of thought was evident in several of the subsequent podcasts. How Bo lost trust. How Bo was a PR nightmare. How Bo would start losing recruits, etc. etc. The were only a couple media people that seemed to stand up a little bit for Bo. Seems like they were the only ones that would say: "We don't know the whole situation." or "Bo couldn't tell people what was happening with the coaches for various reasons' (paraphrased). Anyway....the only thing I ended up enjoying about the whole day and subsequent podcasts was when someone actually talked to the recruits. I absolutely was appalled at how most of the media dwelt on Bo and NOT the recruits. Does anyone else feel that the press could have focused alot more on the recruits on signing day? That was what about 90% of the fans cared about on THAT day. Subsequent days and weeks would have been the time to go after the coaching situation. Anyway....my two cents worth.
  5. I cannot see how anyone can believe Bo can put the fear of God into a player. He is too meek and mild mannered. One of the biggest problems this team has is that it does not have a fiery enough leader. I think that is why at one time the press was thinking Mangino may be interviewed. Now THERE is some fire. HAHA.
  6. My guess: Wats is moving because he is being promoted to HC. If the press would have their way.......
  7. I live in Missouri. Huskers were HATED long before Pelini got there. They were hated because we kicked their butt royally for 30 years in a row. In the mid 2000s they just didn't hate quite as much cause they actually beat us a few times. I don't think Pelini has significantly hurt or helped the Huskers. Heck...Jim Rome, who has a national radio audience seems to like Pelini from what I can gather. I will tell you what I DO hear alot-- "Huskers bailed on the Big 12" and that has nothing to do with Pelini. If you really want to blame someone for that action---blame Tommy O and Harvey Perlman for the current state of "disrespect"? Anyone want to blame Tommy O for Huskers being disrespected? I don't think so. I will say this....Bo is going to need to adjust his behavior a bit on the sidelines. Now that he has a reputation for being "passionate", every game there is going to be a camera glued to him. He is going to have to do what Osborne use to do--have his assistants do the dirty work once in a while regarding players and refs. Our press corps have not helped either. So..don't blame Pelini alone for the current state of love/hate/disrespect for the Huskers. It is a complicated world and an awfully small world we now live in. Much different than when Tommy O was coaching. My two cents.....
  8. making a big assumption that Beck will be promoted. Not sure that is a done deal yet.
  9. When I go to Rivals and Click on Devon and then Scott Frost, his bio comes up just fine for me, including hometown, coaching history and recruiting accomplishments.
  10. Pretty darn difficult to sit there and say "this is how he should have handled it" when you have no clue about what is even going on. Doesn't anyone think that if Bo was doing something out of line, or completely off the wall, Tommy O would step in? I sometimes think that we are being so influenced by the press and the fact that they are irritated Bo is not "Mr. Openness" telling them everything that is going on. Give the guy a break. There are many reasons why he says what he says. Example: He says there is an opening for an OC job. Frost doesn't take it. The next guy doesn't take it. Then, what does the press do: Every time they see Bo, they ask him: What is the status of the new hire for the OC job? Anyway, give Bo a break. Until the team becomes a non-supportor, or until we start seeing Callahan problems (sub 500 records and no bowl game), I support Bo.
  11. It will make a difference eventually on Wat's resume. I think everyone would prefer that he find another job, rather than being booted. Wat's had his moments, look we had a top offense with Joe Ganz. Now you wonder whether that was Joe Ganz or Wats? Anyway, it is time for the Huskers to head a different direction than what he can offer. On the other hand, I hold no ill will and I wish him the best of luck.
  12. This wasn't an uncomfortable signing as the Headline says...it was an uncomfortable news conference and, in my opinion, both sides are to blame. Bo needs to get a little more PR savvy....and, the press, when it comes to issues that, at least on the surface, are outside of the area where comments can be made, NEEED TO BACK OFF just a bit. There are instances where "no comment" is all a supervisor, or person " in the know" can say, because of things outside their control. In listening to some of our press corps, they seem awfully self righteous....but then, what again do I know..... There was plenty of time today, or tomorrow, or the next day to corner Bo. Just didn't seem to me that the press needed to push that button on signing day. Heck, if they wouldn't have pushed it so hard, it would not have been a big issue (in my opinion). Just saying.....
  13. Rivals has him committed to Huskers. Not yet signed as of 9:20 a.m. this morning.
  14. WOO! Glad to see another recruit landed.
  15. Seems like it is one step forward two back here recently. I feel MUCH less confident in landing any high profile recruits than I did last year at this time. Not sure what is up....just a different feeling.
  16. This has been a rather depressing last month for recruiting.....or am I imagining things?
  17. I actually agree....being from Arkansas with ties there and to Oklahoma, I don't blame him. I do think that long term he would have received better defensive coaching here....but, that is ultimately his call.
  18. I see Tevin is now a "soft verbal" on Rivals. Anyone know if this has changed or if he has been "soft verbal" ever since committing. Many of the other commits (maybe all of them, I did not check them all) are solid verbal commits. I don't blame a guy for wanting to stay closer to home. Just wonder if he considers the defensive coaching he will receive here compared to Arkansas.
  19. Line is gone..... http://www.bookmaker.com/live-lines/football/college-football Also some thought around twitter land that the line is off because of the uncertainty of whether Taylor Martinez will be able to play on Friday. Line will change significantly depending on Taylor's ankle and how it feels for the game.

  22. I am with you. If he quits...he quits. It would be a shame, but that is life. If he broke a team rule by having his cell phone available, it may have been something that was an ongoing problem with Taylor, because I can't see Bo blowing up like this for one instance. We have Burk and Codeman and we'll get through. Given a break or two Saturday night and we beat A&M without Taylor. Unfortunately, Bo exploding has not done the program any good and I agree with Perlman's decision that he needs to have a discussion with Bo. Let's beat the Buffs and move on to the Big 12 championship. A game that three weeks ago was a "gimme" is no longer so.
  23. He also got in trouble at Florida. I had forgotten about the laptop incident. http://www.xtrapointfootball.com/20101103734/2010-archives/november/cam-newton-jeremiah-masoli-then-and-now.html I guess you can take or leave the story he gave. Makes you wonder though how upstanding this guy is?
