  1. Banker is a flipping idiot who Oregon State fans ran out of Corevallis years before Riley came to NU. If the defense is like last year, Banker needs to be given an admonistrative job by his best buddy.
  2. Does anyone call him Ivy? I've always called him Rose or Rose-Ivey.
  3. Knowing this Langsdorf will devise a game plan where Tommy throws the ball 50 times, all deep routes too. Don't give Langsahan any bright ideas.
  4. I think they would have been better than 43rd in scoring. Just my opinion. No team in the B1G had a very high scoring offense. (We were 3rd.) It might have something to do with the defense our conference puts on the field. I think it's because a lot of offenses in the conference aren't very dynamic. Nebraska has a good offense for the conference. The success of 2016 will depend on the defense, which was awful last year.
  5. I think they would have been better than 43rd in scoring. Just my opinion. If the defense is going to be as porous as it was in 2015, the offense will need to be top 20 if NU is going to have a successful season.
  6. Just cuz you are a try hard doesn't mean you the right caliber of player. Right CoHusk? I agree.
  7. Yes, it is early and I'm not sure what Benning sees to say that DPE should redshirt. I just hope another year of DPE isn't wasted by having him play in only a few games.
  8. Newby was the highest touted recruit of the 3, but was inconsistent as the starter last year. Ozigbo probably has the best potential to be the "steadiest" back of the 3. I think Wilbon has the highest upside, given that he was another highly touted recruit, and we have seen him play so little. Just my thoughts.
  9. Benning recommended today that he redshirts this season. I'm not sure if DPE doesn't have the confidence or what, but there still isn't something quite right.
  10. There has been plenty of discussion on Armstrong struggling yesterday in the Fall Camp QB Competition thread.
  11. Yesterday's practice was the first practice in full pads. Benning and Sharp said that crazy things can happen in the first full pad practice, and most of the team didn't look crisp. If TA is having poor results in the final week of fall camp, or in a major scrimmage, then I would be more concerned. There is still time to work out the kinks, which it sounds like the whole team needs to.
  12. Wisky coach now edited, thanks. Of course NU hasn't been consistent. That was the biggest thing I hated about Bo's team. Riley's teams have had a history of being inconsistent. My thoughts of expectations include NU being way more consistent in the play on the field.
  13. #1 and 3 don't matter. If #2 doesn't happen the ball is not intercepted. Period. The DB play and wr have no bearing on if through qb puts the ball where it should it will not be intercepted. It will just be incomplete which is what we can live with. #1 matters just as much as #2 does. If the WR gives the QB no help on the ball, then it can lead to an INT. I understand accuracy matters for the QB, but the WR needs to make a better break attack the ball in the air. Not all INT's are the 100% fault of the QB.
  14. I thought about our Big Ten opponents a couple weeks ago, and what I expect to win against these teams. Now, my thought is that if Nebraska is going at peak levels, which it obviously hasn't since NU joined the B1G. I also realize that the majority of this time was under Bo, but Riley had too many bad losses last year. Looking at these records, here are the opponents that NU is falling short at this time. Illinois -- NU should rarely lose to this program. It's a BAD program. NU should be 3-0 against them, and win 90% of the games against them. Purdue--see Illinois, but their program is even worse. Iowa--I know Iowa has some peak years every now and then, but NU should be winning 3 out of 4 games against these clowns. Minnesota--NU shouldn't be losing 2 games in a row against this program. That's just terrible. NU should be winning 80-90% of the time against this program. Northwestern--I know a lot of people like Pat Fitzgerald, and he is a good coach. But, NU should be able to out-talent them nearly every year. NU should be winning 4 out of 5 games against them. It's embarrassing that NU is a Hail Mary away from a losing record against the smart guys in Evanston. Wisconsin--this program should be NU's only true competition in the Big Ten West. NU should be expected to be .500 against Wisky. It will be interesting to see if Coach Chryst will be able to maintain them being near the top of the B1G every year. I have doubts in his abilities. Now, I know these thoughts translate to strong seasons by NU most years, but if NU wants to get back to championship level, these expectations are reasonable.
  15. Long time OWH sportswriter Steve Pivovar also passed away last night, after a battle with cancer. Supposedly, he was a great guy in the news room.

  16. Benning discussed the Pick 6 play on his radio show this morning. He said there were 3 things that caused the INT return for the TD, which was a comeback route on the sideline. 1. The WR made a bad break out of his cut, and didn't come back to the ball very aggressively/downhill. Coach Williams immediately ripped into him. 2. Armstrong didn't make a great throw, as his throw was to the inside, rather than the sideline. 3. Chris Jones made a great cut on the ball and great play. So, Armstrong appears to have not made an accurate throw on a sideline comeback route, but that is a long throw, and we know that Armstrong's struggles with accuracy at times. However, the pick 6 wasn't entirely Armstrong's fault, and there also should be credit given to Chris Jones. If the WR fights to the ball more, the pass is probably just broken up and the offense moves on.
  17. From what I heard from reporters attending the practice, Armstrong struggled early, and then settled in and did ok. Yes, it is concerning that he is struggling as a 5th year senior and a 4-year starter, but he has time to shake off the rust and be ready for the games in September. It would be great if Armstrong would have a great camp, and there is time to turn it around.
  18. Only going off memory, we lost against Colorado in 2007, Wisconsin and USC in 2014, Illinois and Miami in 2015, while we won against Northwestern, Fresno, Iowa and Minnesota. I wouldn't call it bad luck as much as we just... weren't good, regardless of uniform haha Prior to use in recent years, Nebraska had terrible results in the all-white road uni's. It may be cool as something different, but the results are not good. Keep the red pants. Or it seriously just doesn't matter. It matters. Keep going Ducky

  20. Sounds like Newby, Ozigbo, and Wilbon have all split time with the top units. Gonna be a good competition.
  21. Dude, I understand that you didn't feel like Solich and Bo should have been fired when they did, but why do you have to bring this crap up in every single thread. It gets old. I'd ask the same question of why people who want to trash them bring them up in thread after thread. You're right, both of you guys suck.

  23. My feelings as well. Bush is one of the better athletes on the team. Size, speed, etc. He should be playing. Let him return kick offs and or punts. We have desperate need of someone who can do that. Maybe DPE is back? If Bush is third or arguably be 4th string if POB was worth his scholarship, he should be playing in the mean time. Now, if we lose Tommy or Fyfe, then he returns, maybe. This is why we make a deliberate effort to have no less than 2 QBs ready to go with some game snaps under their belts. We are one injury away from a disaster if Tommy goes down. I see you guys are still two pees In a pod. No, Bush isn't a Rush End. No, Bush isn't more athletic and a better return man than DPE. No, Bush isn't a better WR option than the 8 guys in front of him. No, Bush isn't even our 3rd best QB. What makes you think Bush could't move to DE? I think Bush could also play LB, but we are fairly deep at LB. He should at least be playing special teams; kick returns and coverage. Randy Gregory was listed at 240. Bush is listed at 6-3, 220. If he could add 20 to 40 pounds with a minimum loss of speed he could be an effective DE. There are plenty of examples of successful position switches. Tony Veland switched to the secondary from his recruited quarterback position prior to his junior year, started for the Huskers MNT team, and won a super bowl with the Broncos. Cody Glenn switched from IB to linebacker his senior year and was drafted by the Redskins. The point about Bush switching positions is that it's too early to make him switch. He's in his 3rd year in the program, and he has a legitimate chance at winning the QB job in 2017. Why move him now? I was under the impression that MR and Langsdorf didn't think much of him. New recruits are pocket passers, and Tanner Lee was brought in. But even if he was obvious starter in 2017, why not let him contribute now? That's what was done with Bobby Newcombe; split end and punt returner as a freshman, starting QB as a sophomore. I don't think the situations are comparable. I understand what Newcombe did, I was at NU during that time. But, moving Bush to defense would be a full-time switch, which shouldn't really happen until 2017 at the earliest.
