  1. Kaaya was only a JR this year I think? He was a sophomore this year.
  2. I thought all those losses were due to players not buying in and the toxicity left from Bo?
  3. You don't understand, all the losses this season are Tommy's fault!!!
  4. It only took all year. Now, if we can just get our defense up to snuff...and Langsdorf can learn his lessons...Riley may actually be successful next season. Question is--why the f*** did it take them all this season to learn these lessons? Old, stubborn coaches
  5. Defense did have two 3 and outs to start the half. It's a tough offense to stop all night.
  6. Feel really good for Armstrong in this game. He's played very well, after having a lot of fans blame the whole crappy season on him. This is the offense that needed to be ran all season.
  7. The financial considerations of Suh and Collins are completely different. The rookie scale in the NFL has significantly changed since Suh signed his huge rookie contract. NFL players make significantly less money on their rookie deals, and don't get huge money until their second contracts. That is why spending an extra year at NU isn't that beneficial too Collins. He should go pro, hope he kicks ass, and get to this 2nd contract a year earlier than he would if he came back for his senior year. it's all relative i guess, money, injury prone, development.......they both need polish and conditioning to be dominate players in the NFL.And where are they going to get the best training, when they are full time players in the NFL and not having to deal with the hassles of college.

  9. He was probably on his way to his CFP committee meeting.
  10. Also the fact they had all of the FCS (then Division 1-AA) teams in there as well. The first EA Sports college football game came out in 1993, and it was called Bill Walsh College Football. It was available on the Sega Genesis and then Super Nintendo. They didn't have a licensing agreement with all the schools in the first game, and only had 24 teams. The teams had names of states or cities, Nebraska was still Nebraska but USC was known as Los Angeles. It was such a fun game, because we could actually run the option play, which couldn't be done in the Madden series.
  11. This!!! Nothing can match up to Tecmo Super Bowl. NFL '93 or '94 is a very close 2nd.
  12. It's a direct result of the move to the Devaney Center. Volleyball capacity at the Coliseum was only 3-4K (from what I remember). That doubled when NU moved to Devaney in 2014.
  13. I thought Riley commented that everyone made the trip and there were no casualties due to grades.
  14. Time to get over it. It was two losing teams, one lost to the other. Oz lost to a loser in Iowa St., a much worse loss in husker history. Was NU down 42-16 in that loss to Iowa State. I don't think so. A top ranked team losing to a below 500 Iowa St team is a better loss than two losing teams squaring off. Really? Now that's some kind of spin.I will forgive TO for losing once to a losing team in his 25 year career at NU. Riley managed to do it twice in the same month this season.

  16. Even if we get boat raced? A close loss, sure. A blow out? Not so sure, dude. What would you define as a blowout loss? Cue numerous tangential posts about blowouts in 3....2....1.
  17. A win on Saturday night would mean it was more fun to watch NU and drink beer, compared to a loss in that situation. On a grand scheme of the entire season, it wouldn't mean much to me. It would still a supremely crappy season, and I still wouldn't have much confidence in the coaching staff.
  18. 64 year old Nick Saban says Hi I wouldn't be surprised that some younger coaches will use Saban's age to negative recruit guys. Saban will stay at Alabama as long as he wants to, but I am sure some coaches will say "Saban is 64 years old, are you sure he isn't going to retire while you are there?"
  19. To me Cross and Ozigbo are a toss up to who's better, but I'd basically agree with that list.I would put Ozigbo above Cross. Cross may have more power up the middle, but Ozigbo has the ability to bounce runs outside when needed. That enables Ozigbo to get more yards out of runs when they aren't blocked perfectly.
  20. This, and the acting by Hayden Crhistiansan and Natalie Portman was terrible. Oh, and Jar Jar stunk. I'll always blame Lucas for that. I think they acted how he told them to act (see Portman in other movies) and they were working with his cheesy lines. Somehow between the original three and episode I he forgot what real life relationships are like. I would also think it would be difficult to be acting on a "green screen" the entire time since so much of the movie was digitally made. I am so glad that Abrams went back to actual physical props and models for Episode 7 and beyond.
  21. When he got in during the first two games he looked like a better runner than Newby to me and I know plenty that share the opinion. Then he just disappeared for the rest of the season. Unless there were disciplinary issues it is a failure on the coaches that they didn't find a way to use him. First 2 games of the season Newby clearly had the better numbers Newby - 6.3 yards/carry, 19 yards/reception Wilbon - 3.9 yards/carry, 14 yards/reception it's all relative,,,,,,,number of carries for each back? I haven't gone back and looked at the stats from each game, but Newby had a huge game against a bad South Alabama defense. It was almost like Riley wanted to show how well Newby could be as a back. I think any one of the RB's could have had a good game against South Alabama. Against BYU, Wilbon only had a few carries, and looked more effective in his snaps.
  22. I would agree that VV has been a slight disappointment at NU, but I won't say the same for Collins. Maliek has had a very good career at NU. He has dominated at times this year, even when facing double and triple teams due to a complete lack of edge rusher.
