  1. Of course not. The Omaha World Herald is #1 on the list. Wait a minute, the OWH did nothing wrong. Armstrong did not have Riley's back on this, the blame is squarely on his shouldersI didn't say they did anything wrong. I said they were #1 on Armstrong's list of who to tell. Ahead of Riley. Seems he's a bad decision maker in life, too.Weren't all the coaches out recruiting on Sunday and Monday? Maybe Armstrong didn't think about telling the coaches because they weren't around. Plus, if Armstrong wasn't involved in the alleged sexual assault, maybe he didn't see the incident being a "big deal". It's just a house he is renting while he is at NU.
  2. Teach and I didn't have to worry about any sexual assault allegations happening at the parties we threw in college. #sausagefests #nogirls #virgins
  3. Exactly!!! Why? Because he has experience dealing with rape allegations at Oregon State?
  4. Because the star QB and WR and their friends are trying to have fun and get laid.
  5. I'm guessing that was what was on Armstrong's mind Haha, do you get the point though? It would be ESPN Breaking News, and a huge distraction. I would love for the Lincoln PD to come out with a statement that no Husker players are suspects. Not trying to downplay the situation. If an assault did occur, I hope whoever is responsible is punished severely. They did just mention the rape investigation on the Ticket Ticker on Dallas Sports Radio 1310 AM The Ticket.
  6. Because hopefully he has nothing to hide. It's still idiotic to talk to a newspaper about it right now. It looks like Armstrong spoke to the police, who then released his comments to the newspaper.
  7. Looks like he was Taylor's back-up in 1986. http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/mccathorn-clayton-1.html
  8. Hopefully Pederhorst doesn't get to hire a new baseball coach. GREAT point. Didn't Eichorst hire Erstad? Osborne did.
  9. Why is Banker going to see KJJ and not Keith Willliams? Is it because he is just out in Cali or does Banker have a good relationship with KJJ? Most likely because Dismuke is the recruit for 2016, and I am guessing that Banker has been recruiting him for this recruiting cycle. So, Banker will also recruit Keyshawn Jr. while at the same school. Williams is headed to other places to recruit.
  10. Nathan Enderle, who we picked off 5 times in 2010 An addition to the Pelini QB graveyard for sure, but he did good things for Idaho. But, he was a statue QB, not something that would have worked at NU under Beck, who liked more mobile QB's.
  11. Umm, most of those guys weren't in the right position to be earning a scholarship offer right out of high school. The only one that showed any type of D-1 talent in high school was Janovich. Now, I give those guys a lot of credit for working hard since getting to NU, and many guys are late-bloomers, but most of them didn't deserve scholarship offers out of high school. And most of the guys in Dirk's article were in the exact same boat. That's my point. I misunderstood what you were trying to say. I agree that Dirk's arguments are flawed in this article. It's easy to point out "talent" after the fact.

I don't think TO offered scholarships to fullbacks. Most, if not all, of the great ones were walkons, weren't they? Off the top of my head, Rathman and Schlesinger were given scholarships out of high school. The Mackovickas were walk-ons. Willie Miller & Judd Davies were given scholarships out of high school, as well. Not sure if those guys were TO or Solich recruits.

  14. Mmmm, not really. Yeah, NU didn't really stop either QB for BYU.
  15. It's intriguing, scary, confusing, head-scratching, and amusing to hear they "finally" bought into it. I'd like to know why it took them so long. Does anyone remember how the captains were chosen? IIRC, Riley named the captains at the end of Spring camp, as they headed into summer conditioning. Were the players chosen by a team vote? Maybe the captains that were named weren't the best "leaders" on the team, and that's why there was a lack of buy-in. It's just a theory.
  16. I will give credit to the team and the coaches to playing with focus and tenacity from the opening snap. The tight end reverse was a great play call, and the coaches have finally figured out how to get a resemblance of a run game going. However, the game management near the end of the 2nd quarter was baffling. The first INT thrown by Tommy was a bad throw, on an open receiver. However, the coaches have to do a better job of understanding the game situation. Rutgers was doing nothing on offense, so Langsdorf didn't need to be super aggressive and have Armstrong throw it when it wasn't needed. Then when Rutgers did score and NU got the ball back with 1 minute left in the half, NU should have just eaten the ball and gone into half. Instead Langsdorf has Armstrong throw the ball on 2 straight plays, the 2nd resulting in another INT. That turnover almost led to more Rutgers points. To me, it's one thing to be "aggressive" and go for the jugular, and another thing to be smart and understanding the game situation. To me, Riley and Langsdorf haven't impressed me with their game management decisions throughout the season.
  17. I will give a credit to Banker and the Blackshirts for the game against Rutgers. Rutgers isn't very good, but the D shut them down pretty much the whole game. The D-line and some blitzes got a lot of pressure, and the secondary played well, especially making plays on the ball.
  18. I learned that Banker still can't design a defense to get a defender in front of the receiver on a Hail Mary, and Gangwish still loves to allow the QB to get out of the pocket and a free throw to the end zone on a Hail Mary.
  19. I've learned that NU fans are now super happy with a potential 6-6 season, and barely becoming bowl eligible, as long as there is only one blowout to an awful conference opponent and a couple of nice wins.
  20. Erstad is among the final 5 candidates for the Dodgers job. Joe Maddon has great things to say about Erstad, as they spent time together with the Angels.
  21. And NU won that Wyoming game, and was up by 3 TD's in the 4th quarter before letting up in the last few minutes. It was basically the complete opposite of the Purdue game.
  22. I know you are an optimist, but the "starting to click" idea is based off one game, in which it really took a miracle for NU to win.But it was no accident that we were hanging right with them the whole game. I would have been happy with game if we hadn't scored at the end. I'm a glass half full person though. So fans would have been even happier with another loss, making NU 3-7, just as long as it wasn't a blowout? That's loser talk.MSU was 8-0. That wasn't 1-6 Purdue. We led, hung with and ultimately beat #7. If that isn't a sign that things are starting to click I don't know what is. We will know for sure after Rutgers. My point is that it was ONE GAME!!! We all thought "things were starting to click" when NU rolled over Minnesota. NU proceeded to crap the bed against Northwestern and Purdue. I understand the want for optimism, but I need to see it for more than one game.
