Jury is still out on Frost. Is it good enough....no....but he will have a fourth season know matter how bad this season is. If the fourth is yet another loser the excuses won’t matter.

We were ahead in multiple games over the last 2 seasons.... in ....the fourth quarter......clock mismanagement and prevent defense cost us. So there it is my ”unpopular opinion” is that the reason for our losing seasons is coaching....not....the talent, the culture, the strength and conditioning.

I had high hopes for Frost and still do but he and Chinander have blown, mismanaged multiple winnable games in the last two seasons. Frost couldn’t manage to clock at UCF and has yet to learn how at NU. He and Chinander, not the players or talent or culture have cost us winnable games, winning seasons, and bowl games.

I guess great to me is reserved for the generational players. Then they should be ranked in groups or tiers.

I guess if players were ranked in tiers generational players are in the great tier. (Only a few skill players in our history) Good players tier 2 (Rex, Ameer, Helu, Jano,) Almost good tier 3 ect. I agree whole heartedly that a good defense makes a huge difference. Probably even more than a good offense. With a good defense we have winning records and bowl games in the last 2 years. What’s my advice for Frost? First have great defense and special teams. (This seems to have been an afterthought for him) Second use your offense to obviously score but more importantly grind the clock and keep the ball away from opposing teams. Especially those with far better talent that ours. (This has also seemed to be an afterthought for him as well) That’s what Osborne knew. (Pelini knew it, Solich to) Callahan and Reilly didn’t know it and at this point I’m grouping Frost with these to clowns.

I’d love have him back in charge of recruiting and o-line. And Pelini as DC

Frost doesn’t get that pounding a superior talented team into submission and winning in the fourth quarter is where it’s at. He thinks he can out smart them and talent them. That’s what he doesn’t get.

I can only remember 4 good skill players in the last 10 years and zero great players. In my 50 years watching NU we’ve only had a few great skill players ever. Osborne knew this and built the program on toughness at the point of attack. Then every 10 years he got a couple of great skill players and bam something wonderful happened. Why Frost doesn’t get this is beyond me.

Frost will have another losing Season. His seat will get hot.

Chinander is garbage. Frost loves his offense. It is predicated on having better skill players than your opponent. We simply don’t have that kind of talent for his offense in the B10 and never will.

Maybe Keegan doesn’t want to block for swing pass after swing pass. And Avante didn’t want to play for Chinander’s prevent defense. I get it.

I see us having the lead late in the fourth and good old Chinander’s bend but don’t break blows it again.

Hopefully they have the ability to get in Chinander’s ear when the game is on the line late in the fourth quarter. That’s when he needs the help most.

We don’t have a consistent run game. Our screen game on the other hand....look out.

And ran out of bounds. Adrian has never made the difference when needed late in a game. I’d argue late in games he struggles see above.

The Purdue game is HUGE!!! If lose that one...season over no bowl game.
