  1. it just clicked to me how many 230 and 7 pm games that we played in the big 12. Get ready for a lot of games to start at 11 boys. Last year I think Iowa played one night game (psu) and one 230 game (sparty) at home. Is husker nation mentally prepared to crack open the first one at 530 am all year?
  2. boy hardrick looks like a monster here....but even if you are 330 pounds, standing around doesn't help anyone http://gobarnstorm.com/wp-content/themes/springgame/content/untitled_7586_large.html
  3. Yeah, as a fan base we need to support him in whatever he does. Even if he never plays a down of football or throws a single pitch in lincoln he will always be a husker. It would be selfish of us to resent him for for going pro.
  4. If Heard actually makes it, he will have been out of football for almost 2 years. He won't be ready, IMO. Ehh not necessarily. I mean he will definitely have to adjust to game speed as with green and abdullah but his biggest issue out of high school was his size. Now i havent seen him and idk where he is size wise but i assume he has been on the husker workout program since he transferred from wvu so he is probably a little bigger and i would be very disappointed if throughout this process he sat on the couch instead of staying in at least some shape.
  5. Rb/Wr hybrids are becoming more and more popular. it will be a la Danny Woodhead. I love every clue we get about our offense. Its clear rbs will be a big part of the passing game. They arent really worries about wrs being too big....look at kinnie and mike mcneil
  6. Most Big 10 schools get a few players from Florida and other SE states. Iowa seems to hit Texas more than anyone else. Penn State covers east coast - NJ, MD, VA. Michigan is pretty much all over the board. It seems like all teams have 3-4 starters from Ohio which are the kids OSU passed on. I see Neb going into Ohio more. Ohio State has been losing more studs to SEC and other big time schools lately. Jordan Hicks to Texas 2 years ago. Spencer Ware to LSU last year. Trey Depriest to Alabama and big OL kids from Cleveland Glenville to USC this year. Bo has to have some major coaching ties in Ohio. We could do some damage there
  7. Which is exactly why recruiting from texas is so important to us. no other school in the big ten can pull more than the occasional guy from there. But its going to be harder for us now because we wont be playing four games a year in texas like we did before. so not only are we not playing games close to the recruits family, but unless we become a national power we will slowly lose name recognition there.
  8. I guess Jerry Jones is trying to bring a bcs game to the cotton bowl......i think thats a better idea anyway
  9. Good news is that for the most part we will see a lot 0f 4-3 which means caputo doesnt have to worry about someone lining up over him....he can pretty much chip and climb to the next level
  10. We will have the fastest defense in the big 10. Assuming Martinez retains the starting role we will be in the top tier offensively (simply speaking speed, not production)
  11. The big 12 runs on star power, while the big 10 runs on strategy, clock management and execution. The big 12 dominates recruiting in the state of texas, which is obviously a premier football state. Thats why the big 12 has star power and always has, but defense and depth have never been focal point. The big 10 on the other hand doesnt have a powerhouse football state to recruit so they cant succeed on talent alone. Athleticism takes a backseat to playing with strength and intelligence....if we can keep our texas pipeline in the big 10 we will contend every single year. Every single nebraska fan should be thrilled to become a part of the big 10. Texas owned the big 12 in every aspect and its becoming more evident with the departure of nebraska and colorado. But with superior academics, competitive athletics and fan bases, more storied and historic programs its just a fantastic fit for us. How could i forget the revenue that the Big 10 network generates? even at a fans standpoint, the big 10 network is fantastic. And you guys cant tell me you arent excited to go watch games in happy valley, ann arbor, iowa city, and columbus? I know we were talking solely about football here, but I think that the big 10 was better last year and even if the big 12 is a slightly better football conference, the benefits clearly, clearly outweigh any objections you may have.
  12. guys if you are confused about seeding they set it up based on divisions. example gb(rodgers) 1st nfc north vs det(Suh) 4th nfc north and then you have the rams(bradford) who won the nfc west vs the cards(fitzgerald) who got last in the nfc west.
  13. I respect Mel Kipers opinion much more than Todd McShay.......Do you recall when he said Gerald McCoy was an all around better player and had a better chance to make an immediate impact than SUH? Dumbass.
  14. Husker nation usually does pretty well with things like this. I would love nothing more than to see suh on the cover.
  15. Ohio State considered sitting him out for spring but nah......that was too harsh ESPN BIG 10 BLOG
  16. If im not mistaken wisconsin tried to get us to sign a deal to play them on black friday but we turned it down. By the way I encourage you all to read iowas message boards more often. There are quite a few spitting uneducated opinions
  17. I think you're probably right... Of course, that means we're going to have to pry it away from one of the greatest rivalries college football has ever seen... The REAL Farmageddon Rivalry
  18. As of right now huskerboard and twitter are my only husker resources. I would love to find a writer or website to follow if you guys could help me out
  19. We travel in well and in packs, support our team, like to party, like to spend money, and tell you how great our school is. I dont see a problem with any of that. Im embarrassed for the TV station who hired this guy. Not only is he not funny, but he is terrible at trash talking. But I guess its kind of hard to talk trash about a school as great as nebraska
  20. Youre exactly right knappic, its hard to make an argument that martinez wont play well next year. But dont you still have some concerns? I am really hesitant to buy all of the martinez stock. As someone who broke his ankle in high school i know that it never really goes away. It is so easy for it to be re-sprained, especially when you are making the cuts that he will be expected to. I am not worried about his mechanics. Some people are just weird and can make terrible mechanics work a la phillip rivers. I think his biggest problem last year was the inability to look at his second and third reads. Now he was only a red. fresh. so he has plenty of room to grow and at this point he is literally as raw as you could be. If he is going to be a successful passer he is going to need to dedicate himself to becoming a student of the game. We are going to run a lot this year but being a one dimensional running team ESPECIALLY in the big ten will not be successful. I have supreme confidence that Beck can teach him everything he needs to know, but its all on his work ethic this offseason.
