Danzel McDaniel's name reminds me of Chase Daniel and Johnny Manziel combined.

  2. Are you talking about us honoring them for four years or the actual four-year contract that was put in a year or two ago? Never heard much about that. Honoring the schollies. The 4 year contract scholarship debate got killed by the smaller schools in D1A. NU give 4 year scholarships period. Doesn't matter if you start or are 5th string. You start with one as a freshman its yours. The only ones that are year to year are the ones offered out to walkons.
  3. I think they were talking about non contributors, and that was my question. Our scholarships are 4 year deals so they won't revoke those. We probably have some guys that have been here four years and red-shirted but graduated that aren't coming back. I think they were also referring to guys who are med. red-shirting and done. And we might have a couple that aren't happy with playing time.
  4. That assumes Shawn Eichorst tried contacting him or other coaches, which in no way has been confirmed or even hinted at by any legitimate source. Regardless, this is Washington. Peterson has always said he loved Boise, so Washington is by no means a destination job for him at this point, at least from the outside looking in. He could possibly be lured elsewhere if this turns out to be true. He never got that chance too because he couldn't get the $$$$ needed for the buyout thanks to a certain old HC/AD who is more worried about his legacy than what is good for the program. So the hope is that after one more year of the same old sh#t, more people will open thier eyes and realize that this staff needs to be shown the door. And the buyout is approx 2M less. The money for the buyout is there if they want to clean house. It would cost us about 3-4 million after mitigation. So stating that it was money is BS excuse people who are butt hurt are using.
  5. Nope. I think he's played his last game. Unless something really improves with his foot he's going to be out.
  6. Nick Satan to another school seems to have picked up steam again today.

I only hope. As much as I hate Texas. I would rather them be good again at the expense of the SEC

Possible, he goes to Texas, and Texas soon joins SEC? Who would ever stop that train?

Texas will be in the Big 10.

  7. The administration gave him two when he asked for six? That's terrible. Eichorst needs to fix that like NOW. That is completely on Tom is it not? Eichorst definitely needs to fix this! That was from meetings this spring. I don't know if it was ever brought up before or not. I would guess it was at the same time Bo asked for a private plane. I would guess things were listed in order by need and getting the air fleet they now have access to was more important not only for football but all sports. I know TO made mention last summer he thought we'd see maybe up to 4 people added to staff but that was a decision for people other than him since they no longer needed his input. We advertised for 2. I don't know if its a start or that's all she wrote. I bet we know more after signing day.
  8. Ok. Meeting time then Nebrasketball. Go Big Red.

  9. I didn't say that was his rating now. You said very few would be sad if he were to leave. I simply put that what we know from hard facts from historic information is that the trend would be opposite. I think if polled now he would still be in the 70's and maybe even 80% points. Remember that last poll was last year right after we got hammered by UCLA so mouth breather unrest was a high point. Perhaps not as high as now but I don't think its shifted to 78% favor him moving on and 8% him staying or the fact of the matter is we wouldn't have the BOR telling HP to tread lightly.
  10. Yes well for give my memory. How about almost 80%? I realize there is a big difference from 78%. You got me. And 8% disapproving. So you know. That huge too
  11. Ok....so one of the biggest Dbags that does damage is a guy named Tim over on the rivals board. Always stating he's in the know, he's a big booster etc even though records show differently. He's been put on the radio in Omaha a few times and that gives credit to his lies even though they've been proven to be wrong more than once, including his "knowledge' that Bo had resigned and Iowa would be his last game. He's nothing more than a bad game of gossip. His info is almost always negative and usually based on zero truth. He's pretty much lead the charge against the program. Unless you're mixing up posters, this isn't even true. Tim's not exactly the warmest guy either but he's flatly denied being a big booster and stayed completely out of speculating on Bo's job status during the later part of the season. But I'm sure you knew that. Don't think that I am. Very well could be two different folks but I was under the impression they were the same person. I'm not a member over there. I've only seen messages posted on another board that were stated to be from him. Last name P?
  12. This may be an example of media influence.......how do you know this is correct? Its not. Every poll ever take that polled Bo's approval rating has had it as favorable by a wide margin. Usually in the 80 and 90 percentages. Yeah that's not true. Every real poll not on a message board done by and independent group like Gallop. If there is one that states different it hasn't been public. At least to my knowledge.
  13. Media almost always drives fan base and opinion. Why do you think talk radio has grown so much in the last decade?
  14. This may be an example of media influence.......how do you know this is correct? Its not. Every poll ever take that polled Bo's approval rating has had it as favorable by a wide margin. Usually in the 80 and 90 percentages.
  15. Bo's plan was to put people in regions to be scouts. Kind of like NFL or MLB or even basketball using AAU teams. We'd have about 6 people living in their areas and then 2-4 folks to organize stuff at UNL. He got two. Which is better than nothing.
  16. Knapplc, I agree with you here. He should show that warm and cuddly side of himself more. Where I disagree is that I very much think he has. Team Jack, all the youtube pranks we see behind the scenes, and the many, many interviews he's done where he seems relaxed and accepting, even joked! He's dropped his tough guy facade many times in front of fans. Where I see the problem is, is after every single loss, no matter who the loss comes to, no matter the injury status of key players, no matter any other contributing factor within the loss. Half of our fanbase turn into rabid dogs tearing into Bo and his players performances, and even worse with PERSONAL ATTACKS. How many times do you let your guard down to people like that? It's like being married to the most bi-polar B**ch in the world. Win and your loved (well sorta, some still find reasons to hate after a win) Lose and you, your players, your staff, and all the good you've done for the program is dog crap. You married her because you enjoyed her company, she was supportive, fun, and exciting. Little did you know she married you because she expected you to hit the lottery every year, turn into George Clooney, and answer her every wants and needs without question. Any disappointment and you're supposed to eat sh*t with a smile, any response to the shaft you're getting only digs a deeper hole. Eventually you just shut yourself off. If fans want warm and cuddly Bo, stay Suzie homemaker and quit going Loraina Bobbit. Might just make a difference. This might be the most perfect example ever.
  17. I'd disagree. He came out several times before and after and stated their passion is what makes this job great even though sometimes difficult. He's done it about 5 or 6 times but its hasn't been the focal point of any stories because it dose not sell papers, get listeners or viewers.
  18. Honestly. Much of it was probably media induced on both parts.
  19. I don't do any of those things. Bo Pelini still needs to improve. I don't think anyone would say he doesn't need to improve. I think what unfair is writing someone off because we're uncomfortable with his faults that. Honestly nearly everyone agrees he is different in the media portrayal than in one on one accounts with his team and people who are with him daily. Which is more likely to be true?
  20. Its obvious that Bo sucks, is a horrible person, average coach and a bully to geeky little reporters who twist his words, looks funny when he yells, has a naturally pissed off look about him. So we need to find someone who isn't any of that. But who is out there thats better and doesn't have any of the flaws that we don't like? Be honest people are looking for change for the sake of change not because its justified. You put up damn near any coach and the critics can reel off a list. Hell...everyone loved Billy C when he came because he was great with the media and told recruits what they wanted to hear and brought in high starts. Well...when it got tough he lashed out, called people names, said we were a stupid fan base oh and his teams were trouble. Even Frank was way different on camera than off. Off he's very charming buddy, buddy, etc. The lights turn on and he became stiff and had a deer in the head lights look. TO same thing. Bobby D was a slut, drank and cursed. Zero were perfect. Look at the legendary coaches out there. Almost everyone to a T had PR issues. Don't get me wrong. Do I wish Bo had more used car salesmen in him at times. Sure I do, but I'm not going to write him off because he pissed off the Omaha media when they attacked him first.
  21. So which winning coach with a better record over his tenure would you like that isn't a dick to the fans or media at times?
  22. So the question becomes which is more important. Being a coach like Bo, winning 8-10 games a year with an run of 11-12 wins a time or two every 10-12 years (assuming that becomes the pattern for this argument) and hopefully have some things break and get a shot at a NC every 15-20. Or being a D-bag coach who cuts players if they can't crack the 2 deep on schollies, only care about the system (but winning 10-12 games every year) bending the rules and leaving your players out to dry when life gets tough for them because they are "men" and should be able to figure it out on their own? Same bristly attitude toward media and fans? Because honestly every coach with the exception of one or two in the top 10-15 right now have that rep in their community. How many coaches are out there that win 10-12 games every year regardless of if they are d-bags or not? And of those coaches, how are we so sure that any of them are even a legitimate option for us? I'm not saying Pelini is the only guy for us, but I think we sometimes think that 10-12 wins are a given with other coaches. Those 10-12 win guys are in high demand by everyone. I don't think there is a 10-12 win every year guy out there at all. No one has demonstrated that ability. And I don't think there is a better guy for Nebraska that would come to Nebraska currently in football. That might change in 5 years.
  23. To be honest I'm kind of tired of the fans acting like the "pretty girl who didn't get asked to the prom". We feel like we're owed a date and to be voted prom queen yet we don't do a whole lot to help the team.
