Look at it this way, if Wilson would have transferred to Nebraska would our offense still be based around the QB running game. NO!! If Andrew Luck transferred to Nebraska for his Senior season, would Beck be running the zone read? NO!! Point is, the OC should/will adjust to the players around them to some extent. Beck did not do that Saturday night.

Taylor's skillset is what it is, and its Becks job to adjust. Wrong! Its vice versa. Beck's offensive scheme is what is and its Taylor's job to adjust to the scheme. Otherwise an OC would come up with a new offensive scheme for every QB that comes into the program to tailor it to that QB. If the QB can't adjust to what the OC wants, the OC goes to the next guy. Thats why an OC recruits wants he wants out his QB, to minimize the amount of adjustments a QB has to make to get used to his scheme. The fact is, you don't change the offense to cater to 1 QB's skillset, you make him adjust to it, or move to the next guy. That was one of Shawn Watson's mistakes. I disagree, adjusting to the strengths of your QB doesnt require trashing the playbook. An OC that doesnt adjust to their players is one that fails. They all do it, that much seems obvious. Watsons problem was he didnt fit into what Bo wanted to do, Watson was a fine playcaller, he proved that in Bos first year. AGAIN, THEY ALL ADJUST!! There was a QB on the team that could manage the game very well. The offense controlled the entire pace of the game for a year. They kept a poor Husker defense off of the field. Few mistakes, fumbles, picks. A QB that threw the ball 30 times a game and completed 68% of his passes. He carried a passer rating of 153 which would put him in the top 25 QB's in the country today. You were trying compare it to what? So if an offense/defense/team is bad, it is because the coach isn't adjusting to his players? That sounds easy. Why hasn't anyone else figured this out yet? I can't wait until the coaches make adjustments to maximize Sean Fisher. The rumor is the adjustment will be to lay him on the ground near the line a scrimmage where they think the ball is going. This should adjust to his strength of not being able to be in position for a tackle. Obviously, that could be part of the problem for a struggling team. I was not taking all responsibility off of the players, I was simply speaking of the situation with Beck/Martinez. I think in that particular game Beck did Martinez no favors, and in fact put Martinez at a significant disadvantage with his playcalling. After your QB throws two INTs to end the half, your first play coming out of halftime isn't (or shouldn't) an out pattern. Clearly you overreacted to my post.

Not only has he lost the locker room, he has lost the media too. He thinks he is good at reading defenses. He really just needs one of those do over moments. This is what I don't get. I understand coming down on the guy for the fumbles and interceptions and stuff - that's football, and it's totally fair game. Someone needs to tell him to be a man (maybe an unnamed coach from Okie State?), take your lumps like a grown up and stop acting like a kid who didn't get his way. Is it all attitude? Does this "D" just need the killer instinct, the "WANT TO" that Bo referred too in his presser? I have faith my brothers but, I do not see the will to play, to win, to finish. Does anyone actually think Bo isnt going to turn this Defense around? Really? Is there any doubting his abilities. We lost Prince, Hagg, and Gomes. That cant be overstated. Give them time.

It is the job of the OC to put the QB in a position to succeed. Beck did not do that at all. Martinez is not a great passer, and Beck tried to make him one. That was first call after the half was one of the stupidest calls ive ever seen. Rex should of had 15-18 touches at half. They couldnt stop us early and we went away from it. Beck called a horrible game, but having said that, I like Beck and think he has a bright future.

Our offensive line has improved at a very impressive rate over the first 4 weeks. Are they as good as Wisconsin's? Probably not, but they are well on there way in my opinion. The play of Choi especially, has helped a lot, and we are doing things that our line blocks well for. The toss sweep, for example. Our line loves blocking downhill, and Enunwa/Legate have been very impressive in blocking. Kinnie has had a knack for good blocking in the past, and Kenny Bell tries his ass off to get good blocks. I think we WILL run the ball very effectively against Wisconsin. There defense is not that good, and has reached their ceiling it seems. While our underachieving defense has yet to hit stride, but they will. Even if we don't win Saturday, I suspect that Wisconsin could be in trouble come the Big Ten Championship game, if we both get there.

honestly, palmer is my favorite person at espn. i also like the pollack kid, because he seems a little stupid, which i think makes him more honest. Pollack is a moron. He has received a few looks from the rest of the guys on "The Experts" show. But you are correct, dumb is honest. on ESPN, i'll take honesty over intelligence any day. Agreed, any network that closes out the college football day with Holtz, and Mark May is in trouble. Reese is the only guy who brings any credibility to that show.

No offense to Toon, he is a nice player, but if anyone here thinks that Toon vs. a healthy Dennard is even close, they've lost their minds. A healthy Dennard shuts down any college wide receiver.
