  1. One thing that disturbs me a bit was a previous article that talked about our players learning level '1' base defense vs being able to progress to level's 2 and 3. Some of those guys are redshirt Jr's and Sr's. You would think they would be know what they were doing by the time they were Jr's and Sr and would be at the top level.... So is that a coaching issue or is it too complicated/responsibility specific.
  2. Looks like we are not in Davis's final 4 list.
  3. Okay, I will get this out early. I am terrible. I want this guy because I want to nickname him Weed. I think that's a great nickname. On a serious note. I think he would be a good player!
  4. Maybe they should go after Vince Taylor. As an x-gopher assistant he knows the big 10 and should be a good recruiter based off the athletes they had. http://www.gophersportsguides.com/page/show/258814-assistant-coach-vince-taylor
  5. Sad to see Coach Johnson go, but I understand the draw back to the alma mater. I thought of Strickland, but Chin never occurred to me. I think he's a long shot though. Whoever they hire, I have faith that Miles will get a good one based on his previous hires.
  6. Great game Huskers! Good pitching & good hitting and good defense. The 5th&6th innings have been ours this year.
  7. I like that they are giving Bummer a shot at starting.
  8. Saw somewhere he is high on Purdue now. He has 4 visits that he can take so I guess there is a chance. I think his coach said he is wide open.
  9. That's the thing about cb's. If, youre not noticing them much, it's probably a good thing. That's true in the passing game, on the flip side he also did well in run support where it's not a bad thing to get noticed. It will be interesting to see what happens when Green comes back.
  10. I was impressed with Curry's pursuit. He can run a little. Has decent size. As far as the TE's Long did a great job. He did well blocking and showed he can run. Our young guys did a good job catching the ball. I didn't watch their blocking. Vestal did show up quite a few times but it was also against some younger OL/TE's. I agree with those who said that RK3 and Armstrong could be co-2's. I think Armstrong will get the nod though because he needs seasoning for the next season while RK3 is a SR. When it comes down to it though, I think both could do a job job if Taylor went down. Ryker also showed he has some talent.
  11. We played Tulane this year. Davis had 19 points and 13 rebounds against us. He didn't have the greatest shooting % but he got to the line and 13 rebounds is outstanding. He can help us.
  12. In watching it a 2nd time, I think Mo did a nice job at CB.
  13. We are also looking at another guard so that makes me wonder. I agree size should be the priority.
  14. Agreed. It's hard to get a read on things with the way they split things apart IMO. I much prefer the Osborne & Solich days in how they did things. The only thing I garnered out of it was that Moore is a playmaker. Tommie has a good arm. Westerkamp & Reilly have good hands. The WR group is pretty good. I didn't get any impressions from the D as far as playmakers. Maybe watching the replay will change that.
  15. IMO he is looking for a Kansas/Missouri offer like you suggest. Or one of the bluebloods.
  16. I like the fact that he is getting experience at a good level of competition. That will help him transition to college ball. I think I would like to see Tai start out at the off guard position here as well. I think it's easier for a freshmen if he doesn't have to worry about primary ball handling duties and getting the offense started up. As an off guard in Miles system he will still get plenty of chances to handle the ball. Regardless he could play either and down the road I am sure he will. I kind of like the thought of Petteway and Biggs competing at Point and playing in rotation there. And Gallegos and Webster competing at the other spot and rotating there. Hawkins could figure in here too or at point. Really like this recruiting class! Smith filled an important need. Can't wait to see Tai and the crew on the court at Nebraska!
  17. 6'-8", 215 lbs That would be sweet.
  18. Welcome Mr Smith! We needed ya big man! Play hard play tough!
  19. I fully expect to see a healthy rotation, and there's no way Kevin Williams is the 275 he's listed as. I'm willing to bet he's at least in the high 280s by now. I think Randle will start, and see a lot of time, if he's healthy. My thoughts agreed with your first list except it was missing Randle and now you explained that here so +1
  20. Interesting. Atewe is joining a team which already has 4 other post players, a PF and 3 Centers. Hope it works out for him. Minutes might be hard to come by. Read more here: http://www.wareaglee.../#storylink=cpy [/left]
  21. Such is life. I still feel pretty good about next years team.
