  1. I look at it this way. We are going to have really really dangerous returners for Turner not to make it.
  2. Bo has commented in the past that he has gone to Coach Cotton for ideas. There have been several articles that have indicated that Cotton is good at the big picture. Cotton has indicated that he works well with Coach Beck. Cotton will not get in Beck's way. Cotton will evaluate the splits and what the front 7 is trying to do and make recommendations when Beck asks. Splitting up the oline coaches make sense. I thought Barney did a decent job as OC when he was here. There were a few things that made it challenging for him that would of been tough for anyone. If Bo had doubts about Barney he would of made the change last year. I bet Beck had input as well. I will trust Bo&Beck on this one. Is it Els and Raymond in the booth for the D?
  3. They need to be part of the BCS picture. B1G championship would be great. They need to be part of the BCS picture so a B1G championship would be progress. They need to be part of the BCS picture. B1G championship would be great. They need to be part of the BCS picture. B1G championship would be great. They need to be part of the BCS picture. B1G championship would be great.
  4. I think the program is making progress. Bo has the defense fixed, but broke the offense. He's going to get that fixed as that is his main focus now. This last recruiting class is his best class. He has nice talent in the program. He also has some holes he has to fill, but I think they will be able to do that. There are a few unknowns as far as the new coaches and how well they will contribute and we can only wait and see as time will tell.
  5. Plays good assignment football. Disciplined player.
  6. It sounds like Bo is very comfortable and relaxed when he talks to Jim Rome. He did a good interview today. I wish he would relax when he talks to the local media. They aren't out to get him.
  7. I think this guy might end up a DT.
  8. I think this is a great decision. Coach Cotton can determine line splits and what the D is trying to do easier from the booth then down on the field. He is a big picture guy with OC experience. He and new OC Beck should be a good team. It makes perfect sense that Cotton and Garrison are split up. Garrison can do the on the field adjustments as identified from the booth. I like coach Brown on the field as the head offensive guy. He is a good motivator and has lots of experience at various spots. I think this is a good move.
  9. Huskers kick to 5 yrd line. They return to 23 Tackle by May.
  10. Saw this debate on another board. I clicked on the Metallica Enter the sandman and thought the first bit with Ecstasy of Gold was better. For some reason that music is inspiring and makes me want to battle to the end. They can also do a freeze on the good (huskers making plays from the previous week). Bad would be a freeze on a current opponent (group shot. ) Ugly would be other teams mascot or Larry Cable guy (j/k) or something funny. They could have a lot of fun with that. Could also be a halftime highlight show of the first half plays. I like the 300 violin thing.
  11. Maybe he has a bit of yogi in him
  12. No injuries Ball security No penalties No missed tackles No busts in coverage Reestablish LOS 2 yards down the field. Lots of substitutions
  13. I agree it won't be a season from hell I also agree we may not win it. Chances are we won't. We have some depth issues at certain spots so injury could hurt us badly. We also are changing up the offense and have some youth issues. We shall have to wait and see how it plays out. I don't agree with your reasons though. The weather absolutely has no bearing. Most of the time we play northern division opponents in November. We always ended with Colorado in the Big 12. We are a cold weather school. We don't have to worry about acclimation. Plus half the big 10 is more or less on the same parallel as us and get the same basic weather. I don't think there's much difference between b1g lineman and b12-2 lineman. Overall the b1g will average out a little bigger as they have more teams that run the ball but there are big teams in the b12. For example: No. Name Pos. Ht. Wt. Yr. Exp. (Aurora) Yes Nebraska will have to adjust to more running teams and change there recruiting philosophy a bit, but the adjustment will be more towards what the opponent is doing rather and how good they are rather than any physical differences. Wisconsin will give us trouble I think, but that's because they are good. They got a lot better when they got the transfer QB too. That just made their power run game that much better.
  14. Yes Frost used to have a bit of a shotput motion with his throws. Danny Weurfel (sp?) was another guy that had an odd motion. Kenny Stabler threw sidearm. (ok I'm old)
  15. I'm not sure what you're talking about here. As has been discussed in length in the Sellout Streak thread, all seats are sold to season-ticket holders, and have been since the early 70s. The fact that people didn't show up doesn't mean the tickets weren't sold, it means the people who bought them didn't come to the game. That has nothing to do with a sellout streak. Since we've been selling the entire stadium to season-ticket holders for the past four decades, I don't know where you're getting the idea that corporate entities had to buy up unused seats to keep the streak going. Can you better explain that? It was my understand that opponents get a block of tickets to sell and they return them if they don't sell them. Nebraska then sells those. Am I incorrect? It was my impression those were the tickets that had to bought.
  16. Maybe he had some jammed fingers. Could be a lot of things. Or maybe his ankle wouldn't let him step or push off. How does Tebow throw? Is it a side arm deal vs over the top?
  17. Option football or any other offense will work if you block and execute. Can it be the only thing you run? No. But it certainly can be the base. I am going to guess that power football is our base and option is just a package. I also think they could get innovative with that diamond formation. I noticed in a practice clip when Tmart handed the ball off to one of the side backs, with that horizontal action the back with the ball stays in perfect pitch relation with the deep back. It would be real easy to do option action off of that. So basically your doing triple option but with 2 qb's instead of 1. There's some risk in that your doubling your ball handling which could lead to fumbles, but I don't see why it couldnt work with someone like turner as one of the flanker backs. Not sure if you gain much other than that would be a good play if your QB wasnt the greatest pitch guy or was not a speedy guy.
  18. Girlfriend's place. She wasn't a football fan. We were playing Penn State and she started to cheer for PSU because she forgot what color she was suppose to cheer for. (She blamed it on being a Creighton grad and being requested to occasionally cheer for blue teams. She wasn't a basketball fan either) When we started to lose big I asked her to turn the channel or if we could do something else. She kicked me out instead. What did I do? She said if I wasn't going to watch the game I didn't need to be there. I think she just liked to see me suffer. Didnt work out which is fine as she was a creighton grad.
  19. I hope that's not true. Because after all I've been hearing about your fan base, that would be kind of a lame excuse. Especially since you joined the land of the 100,000+ stadium. I actually am ready for the streak to end and think it will happen due to some tragic event...(mother nature or war or a return of Steve Pederson). I can say that because I am old and no one will break the streak while I am alive. I take the sellout streak with a grain of salt anyway. There have been a couple of games where some corporate entity bought up unsold tickets to keep the streak going. There were actually a few games where you could see a few blank seats in the upper rows. So for me that takes the edge off a bit but on the other hand being short a couple of hundred tickets of a true sellout didnt diminish the fact that there were 80K there. Stadium still looked full. As far as fan bases, IMO people are people and our fanbase is not much different than any other. I think the difference comes from circumstances such as the momentum that the program has, the fact there is not much to do in Nebraska and a rural type mindset where loyalty to community is part of the culture. Just my opinion. I don't think think these are bad things and I fit all these categories so this is my perception however ill conceive it may be.
  20. T.O knows how long the waiting list is and what the demand is. They aren't going to over expand their demand. You can only go so big in a state that has 1.5 mil. Plus sky boxes generate more revenue than benches so that cuts into it as well. I think this is the end of expansion IMO ... law of diminishing returns.
