  1. Methinks I have not stated my question very well. What I am wondering from Husker nation is....Should Marsh move to QB or stay at safety.
  2. If Bubba elects to go pro our Qb's look like this Tmart,Carnes,Kellogg Broekemeier (Probably the scout team guy for this year) Turner - Could switch if there's injuries I know Bronson Marsh would love a shot at QB given his past statements and background. I think the new offense would fit him pretty well. Even though he played safety in the spring and did a good job, in light of Cody's transfer I would love to see Marsh audition at the QB spot this fall. In old parlimentary style.....What say you???
  3. I think the fact that he didnt sign up for classes tips the scales towards him leaning pro
  4. Cookies are good. Cupcakes would of been better.
  5. Totally agree. That's why I don't understand why some of the national people bring this up. Heck I even saw a scouting report in athlon by an 'opposing coach' asking where Nebraska was going to recruit, wondering if Nebraska would be welcome in Texas and CALIFORNIA. California!!! What the heck does that have to do with leaving the big 12? That was the most bizarre & worthless scouting report that I have ever seen. I can't hardly believe that came from a coach.
  6. I'd say they rank the same as it depends on what defense your running and what kind of offense your playing that week and the fact that there pretty close to the same thing. If you can put your corners on an island that allows you to do more with your other players, so good corner play is important. Safety play is important though as noted above. I do agree that it all start's upfront and that DLine is number 1.
  7. Sounds like he wants to play QB which works for me. He will be good wherever he plays. He will be a great fit in the BeckSpread.
  8. I will retract the bashing comment as that may have been a little strong. I agree it's great to see kids get offer who really need the financial help but that doesn't come into play here from Pelini's perspective. The fact that their Dad works for the athletic department doesn't come into play with the offer either IMO. To me this is what runs through my mind. 1) Who's left on the board at that position? 2) How does he fit in? 3) Is he going to make grades? 4) Is he going to work? 5) Will he keep developing? 6) Is he going to cause problems? 7) I love the cute chicks on campus. 8) Will he be happy at the U. 9) How are his hands? 10) How are his measurables? 11) What's his blocking like? So basically, I think when it comes down to it, the offer was made because of who was left on their TE board and what they think they will be getting. Knowing what they are getting out of the first 2 probably helped the third. When I watched video of Ott and Cotton, I thought they were pretty close. I thought that Ott looked a little stiff but seemed more physical. He might be a hair faster. The thing I noticed about Cotton was his feet. I thought Cotton had good feet. It sounds like the coaches projected Ott to defense though so that probably why Cotton got an offer and Ott didn't. The recruiting board at RE looks pretty good right now if I had to guess. TE is a huge need and they needed to get one on board. It's nice to have a name penciled their now. Would like to get Orlando to as he would be a Hback type.
  9. Nice scouting report. Thank you.
  10. This is an outstanding thread. Very thoughtful comments by all. Tough call. On one hand I don't think TO will make a change and will leave that evaluation/decision to the next administration. IMO baseball and Basketball situations are different in that baseball has the facilities and used to have the momentum, while Basketball is just getting started with new facilities. I think the recruiting classes for the next 2 years will be HEAVILY scrutinized (in addition to the w/l record) and if they aren't scoring some talent than the clock will be ticking down. On the other hand the new arena speeds up that clock. If they can't sell the new suites, TO may be looking at a change in coaching to generate some excitement and sell those suites. My guess is no change will be made.
  11. Diggs would be a great pickup. Like the sound of 4 Florida guys visiting.
  12. If Nebraska is a bad apple who were the worms? This is a stupid article. Nebraska left because of concerns about stability. If UT hadn't been shopping around AND talking about bringing 5 other teams with them, then there would be no talk of bad apples, life would be the same. The fact is though UT was shopping around and MU was showing interest in the big 10. I wonder what Barry would of wrote if Texas went to the Pac-10 along with 5 other teams? Probably would still blame it on Nebraska and Osborne, because he's a hater.
  13. I really don't understand why people are bashing these kids. Ben is one of our top 2 TE's and is the best blocking TE we have. Jake looked very good at RT during the spring and is just a Redshirt Freshmen. Sam looks like a decent athlete at a position of need. The Cotton's appear to be late bloomers and you know what you are getting. The coaching profession is precarious at best. If your kids get offers they should take them as having 3 kids in college would prove to pretty draining if you don't have a job. I would also say if Pelini and the staff feel a player merits an offer than they get one. They are their own person and shouldn't be treated any differently either for or against regardless of who the father is. Is Barney the greatest coach in the world? Maybe not, but he has some very good points. He is a good recruiter. He is loyal to the University. He knows his stuff as Bo has said that many times. He has a good understanding of the big picture. They are getting the numbers back in the OL and that will help him. The offense is changing and that will help him. He is getting more help with Garrison and Stai and that will help them. I feel very positive that we are headed in the right direction. I am willing to give it some time. There were some good signs last year.

  15. Good aggressive player that plays to the whistle. Great pickup.
  16. I count Marcel Jones as a starter because he was a starter in 2009. Yoshi has good experience so we are really talking about replacing 2 guys. With the new approach I think the younger players will be fine and we have good young talent. I think they are going to be surprised. I am thinking our offense will be better than people think.
  17. With Kourtzidis commiting to FSU and the grade issue with the Juco, Cotton got his chance to move into the offer list. I thinking the same thing may happen with Shoff eventually. I think this will turn out to be a solid pickup. While we are signing a small class and there's lots of time less, I would feel a little more comfortable if we had better a half dozen players in the fold going into the fall.
  18. USC said last week that Stafford was going to try out WLB to start with. I found that surprising.
  19. Looks like a good player. TE/HBack type.
  20. Nebraska beat Knute Rockne and the 4 horsemen. (3rd game of Memorial Stadium) Notre Dame was 6-0 at the time.
  21. Hmmm...we recruited Marshall Faulk as a DB and he wanted to stay at RB and did. You never know.... Jack Pierce has a good recruiting story about Faulk. This isn't an exact account but you should get the gist. Faulk was actually recruited as an athlete. A number of coaches wanted him to play at the positions they were coaching. Basically they were fighting over him.... Anyway Jack knew that Faulk was dead set against playing DB and told the coaches that before Faulk came on his visit. Anyway one coach who will remain nameless ran into Faulk while he was getting the tour and told him he would look good at DB.....the rest is history..... This story was told on the Huskers Legends show.
  22. I really like Hinds and Robinson. Those 2 are on my wish list.
  23. Love the early b1g tourney idea. Could also make it a conference challenge like basketball. Agree that foremost they should change the scholarship restrictions due to the draft impact.
  24. I am not disagreeing with you corncraze. I am just making an observation that Fuller would give us some options when we try to address needs down the road. I really like the list that Epoc posted.
