  1. Guess you have not watched the last couple games. That was tried. It didn't work.
  2. Should the Huskers host them in 2011?
  3. I have a BAD Feeling that Green is going to get Picked apart by the OU secondary. He stairs down his recievers longer than Lee for sure. He could end up Redshirting next year. Spano should be back. As far as comparing Green vs Lee. We will know a lot more Saturday night as this will be the first real Defense Green has played against. If Witt didn't transfer. These Topics would be about Lee vs Witt. Green wouldn't be mentioned as he would be Redshirting. He would be redshirting if Spano was Healthy.
  4. How difficult it is to learn depends on the Terminology. There are Huge playbooks used by H.S. Teams because the Terminology is easy to understand. Majority of the Blocking responsibilities have to do with where the defense is lining up. The Line isn't executing proper technique. That and penalties are killing them.
  5. Green can't pass on the run yet. Hey, I know he's a freshman in college, but I think he played some high school ball, and I'm just going to guess that he threw on the run in HS... in fact, I'd bet the bank on it.. He tried it today.....Didn't work well. This isn't H.S. Ball.
  6. Could be --but "Pathetic" would also describe getting our a** handed to us by TT that lost to ATM, losing to Misery for 3 qts like idiots, losing to VT with no TDS, and .........LOSING TO IOWAY STATE. That is every truly division 1 team we played--one quarter we won. That for a team that has the best defense we've had in a while and the best lineman in college football is PATHETIC. With Lee and this same team we are likely to lose at every game except Baylor and Colorado this year. That is PATHETIC . If that makes you happy, fine with me. Baylor will beat Green and so will Colorado at this point. He is a overhyped Freshman that isn't ready for DI Defenses. He stairs down recievers, doesn't know where the DBs are on the field and over throws recievers.
  7. The top team in Iowa is Iowa City and they are only ranked 86 in the country. No other Team from Iowa is ranked. Iowa High School Football isn't amoung the toughest of states out there. Teams with only 3 wins make it into their playoffs. You can look at the Top 10 Teams in the country and even they do not have ALL DI Caliber players. Anyone want to take the time to check this teams players out on rivals?
  8. Exectly. :34 in he says "He has to remember ALL the plays" Green only knew 16 two weeks ago. He might know 25 max by now but doubtful. They have atleast 200 plays and mostly closer to 300+
  9. Green isn't close to being ready. He didn't play well against TT as some are blind to because he completed one TD pass. Did you see his INT? Did you see the other one that should have been an INT? Did you see how he stairs down the reciever? Did you see some of his passes sail deep? Did you see when he admitted he only knew 16 plays. That was only 2 weeks ago. Osbourns Playbook was almost 200 pages, I am sure Watsons is much more. Texas had nearly 400 pages when they ran their version of the WCO. I would venture to say Green probably knows 20 to 25 plays max by now. That is plays (Not Pages). Green is Athletic and has a strong arm. But he isn't ready to start in the Big XII.
  10. If you take away the screens and little dink passes from his stats, you have to do that for every QB to be able to compare.
  11. I know he had drops, so I am not trying to pin all of the blame on him. But when we need ten yards for the first down, he is still looking at receivers 5 yards downfield. (Niles Paul drop late in the game) And he always looks for a checkoff receiver like Helu. He just really reminds me of Sam Keller. He even has a similar release. He doesn't always put receivers in great positions. Also, when was the last time that he consistently lead receivers rather than throw behind them? Again, he is not the only problem, but his situation needs to be thoroughly examined. Subtract the drops from his numbers and he had a really good game. Watch any other pass happy Team and most of those balls not perfectly thrown are still catches. His recievers drop passes that do hit them in the numbers on top of it. He isn't Joe Montana but he isn't as bad as the rap he gets either. Today he did more than enough for them to win.
  12. I was never in the closet. I just call things the way I see them. I've followed the Huskers for a lot longer than you might think. I'm not a husker hater. I just don't care about them now that they're worse than mediocre. Their decline started about Frank's 2nd year. I'm just saying huge changes need to happen before the Huskers are an ass kicking team again on BOTH sides of the ball. Osborne is a great guy but he doesn't understand the game and Pelini is not head coach material. An awesome defensive co-ordinator but not a head coach. Speaking of closets, nothing will change until the University cleans out the football closet from TOP TO BOTTOM. If you followed Husker football for as long as you claim, then you would know that we had a pretty damn good football team in Frank Solich's second year Osbourn must be the only guy to ever win 3 National Championships as a Head Coach and 2 as an assistant that doesn't understand the game. Not sure if this ost was sarcastic, trouble stirring or just a moron.
  13. How about counting the drops and deducting them from the total.
  14. The D didn't help? The D gave up one TD all game. You can't even put the FG on them as ISU didn't gain any yards on that first series. The fourth quarter they still shut them down enough to Give the Offense 2 more chances with plenty of time. The D gave up one big play all game and some first downs in the fourth. How much more can you expect them to do?
  15. Good point. The problem is in basic skills. That falls on the Position Coaches. But with that being said, Watson is their boss and should be making sure they are doing the job. The fumbles no one seen that coming. But the drop passes has been a problem all season. Even High Schools are now useing Tennis Ball machines with their recievers. Why can't Nebraska?
  16. Bo was yelling at Cotton on the side line during the game. Until the OL starts pushing people around and eliminates the penalties, this Offense will have problems. Fix the OL and the other problems won't be as bad.
  17. Until the OL is fixed, you could put Joe Montana back there and it wouldn't change things. Drop passes is another issue.
  18. Most of the High School Teams in the Top 100 are still running the Wing T.
  19. JUCO is not like High School. Most H.S. players would get cut from their Local JR College.
  20. It wasn't the Play Calling. Nothing worked today. It starts up front and goes from there. The OL isn't even average. The QBs are not Average. The WRs are not Average. Good at IB but he needs a line to make his game go. With that said, Position coaching needs to improve. Cotton should be the one on the Hot seat first. Give any OC 11 Guys doing their Job 90% of the time and you would all call him a genius and master play caller. Osbourn was considered a Genius play caller. He was able to set things up like the FB Trap for example. BUT Osbourns position coaches had their players doing their job on 90% of the plays. So it was easy to setup a FB Trap or Play action to the TE.
  21. If you want to write off the North and develop a QB for the Future. Green is the way to go. But most of you aren't paying attention to Greens play. He has a Cannon, He can run. BUT he stairs down recievers and doesn't see all the DBs. Green has the tools to be the future. But he isn't the now. PS: Change isn't always for the better. Look how bad things are headed under Obama. Only 2 things are Growing. Unemployment and the Defecit
  22. IMHO, Cotton needs to go. The OL has been a major problem. I been bashed on here for saying it in the past weeks. I didn't think he did a good job last time he coached here and feel the same now.
  23. No one was Booing at the Half. Suh was walking in just ahead of Bo. They were saying Suh.
  24. Husker were not a option team under osbourne either. They were a Power and Countersr unning Team with option mixed in.
