hskr23 Posted September 13, 2006 Share Posted September 13, 2006 I know when I played football those quotes really only got you pumped up for five or so minutes, I dont believe that you can play a whole game just because somebody said when we beat USC. If anything the player thinks about the quotes and tries to make a play he might as well just run over the field and chase the ball. Quote Link to comment

Exactamundo! Some crap like that MAY work for a series or two, but that's it. What about the USC lineman that said NU is "no big deal"? Is that bulletin board material for NU as well? Aren't they even? Does anyone really care? If you have to put a quote up on your locker everyday to get you motivated to beat your opponent, then you have no business taking the field. That's like posting a negative review from a supervisor up at your desk to get you motivated to do your job right.
